Zac Efron’s new film 17 Again opens in theaters today as does Jason Statham’s new film Crank: High Voltage … but the competition between these two gentlemen doesn’t end there. Zac Efron, as we are well aware, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of GQ magazine and in his photospread is photographed doing the “human flag” on a parking meter. Jason Statham is featured in the new issue of Men’s Health magazine and is also photographed doing the “human flag”. Here is a side-by-side comparison of the shirtless hunks showing their physical prowess …

So the question becomes … which guy is the hotter of the two? While Zac has youth and a full head of hair on his side, Jason has the advantage of being able to do the most extreme version of the human flag by fully extending his arms. It’s a tough choice … but I gotta know which side you fall on. Are you Team Jason or Team Zac?

Action star Jason Statham, who will be thrilling audiences soon with his new movie Crank High Voltage, was spotted enjoying a bit of beach fun with some friends in Malibu, CA this weekend … behold:

You know, the man looks good when he’s clothed and dry … when he’s half nekkid and wet, well, yeah. There is a certain je ne sais quoi about this actor that I have loved ever since I saw him in the first Transporter movie. While the hey day of the action hero movie star is a thing of the past, I love that Jason Statham can exist as a new, gentler (and sexier) kind of action hero. Crank was a madcap adrenaline-filled romp of a movie and I understand that Crank 2 is even more raucous. Alls I know is any movie that features Jason Statham in any state of undress has a pretty good chance of getting me to pony up for a ticket. Oh la la, indeed.

While People magazine is honoring its annual list of the Sexiest Men Alive today, GQ magazine has compiled its own list of men to honor as well. Both male and female celebs made their way out to the Chateau Marmont in LA, CA last night to enjoy GQ magazine’s 2008 Men Of The Year Party — bestowing top honors to Leonardo DiCaprio and John Malcovich. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals last night:

Actors Leonardo DiCaprio and John Malkovich walked away with top awards at this year’s GQ Men of the Year ceremony. The Body Of Lies star picked up the Leading Man Trophy, while Malkovich was named Mad Genius of the Year at the men’s magazine awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Tuesday. President-elect Barack Obama was given the nod as Game Changer of the Year, actor Jon Hamm was handed the Breakout award and Olympic champion Michael Phelps took home the ultimate accolade for Golden Boy of the Year. The glittering party attracted some of Hollywood’s brightest male stars, including DiCaprio, Zac Efron, Adam Brody and Aaron Eckhart. And although the annual celebration recognizes leading men, the ladies were out in full force too, with Megan Fox, Rosario Dawson and Elisha Cuthbert turning out for the red carpet bash. The main list of winners is as follows:

Leading Man: Leonardo DiCaprio
Game Changer: Barack Obama
Breakout: Jon Hamm
Golden Boy: Michael Phelps
Mad Genius of the Year: John Malkovich
Obsession of the Year: Megan Fox
Drama Queen of the Year: Sean Penn
Screen Idol of the Year: James Franco
Tough Guys of the Year: The Wire Writers
Mogul of the Year: Seth MacFarlane
Prick of the Year: Gordon Ramsay

While I don’t necessarily agree with this list of honorees as I did with the People magazine list, there are a few winners that I am in complete agreement with — Barack Obama, Megan Fox, James Franco. After the jump, check out a few more photos from the red carpet arrivals last night — there is more hotness to be had …

GQ’s Obsession of the Year dished at last night’s event that she is planning a small wedding to fiancée Brian Austin Green:

Despite reports to the contrary, Transformers hottie Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green are “still engaged,” he tells PEOPLE – and they’re busy planning the wedding. “[The ceremony will be] small,” the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star added at Tuesday night’s GQ bash in L.A. “Originally we were talking elopement and now we might have a few people there.” Still, he said, don’t expect a lot of press hoopla surrounding their big day. “You might hear about it the week after.”

Man, how did Brian Austin Green get so lucky? Good for him. And how amazing does Kathy Griffin look? She tells US Weekly that a new season of My Life on the D-List is on the way:

“It’s season 5. We start shooting [Wednesday],” Griffin, 48, told Usmagazine.com at the GQ Men of the Year party in L.A. Tuesday night. “Literally, it’s our first day. I know, what am I doing here [at this party]?” What to expect this time around? “Season 5 is going to be a little bit of a transitional season because it’s going to be more celebrity oriented,” she said. “[It's] the way that American Idol sort of started as a singing contest and then every week you expect to see the mentors. I have some really good guest stars coming on the D-List this year.” But she’s keeping her lips zipped. “I can’t tell you, but please call Bravo!” she said. “I’m actually getting a lot of people that I want to, and it’s really, really exciting. “And the two Emmys didn’t help,” she added jokingly. “Suck that Efron! The more important thing is that I have more Emmys than Zac Efron! I just want to make sure we are good on that.”

Love it. Much congrats go out to all the pretty people who were honored by GQ this year … I’m sure all the accolades are much deserved cuz, you know, these celebs could really use a little more ego-stroking ;)

Good news, y’all … action man Jason Statham is back again in the third installment of The Transporter franchise. After achieving marginal success with The Transporter and The Transporter 2, Jason is back in movie theaters next month in, you guessed it, The Transporter 3. It should come as no surprise that I am a big fan of the man and (some of) his movies (Death Race notwithstanding, yeesh!) largely because his flicks tend to offer amazing action scenes … oh and there’s the other matter of the man’s insane hotness. Here is a still from the upcoming movie Transporter 3 where Jason is doing what he does best … lookin’ good:

While it can be argued that Jason’s Transporter character Frank Martin is the hottest and best dressed dude who can kick your ass with both hands tied behind his back, I think there is something to be said for when Jason’s character isn’t dressed on screen at all. The Transporter films take great pains to make sure that Frank Martin is dressed to the nines, lookin’ sharp as hell (even after a sweaty fight) at pretty much all times … but they also take the time to insert some gratuitous half-nekkidness as well to give the audience a bit more excitement. Trust me, I’m a fan. I am really lookin’ forward to seeing this movie when it opens on November 26 not only for the less-dressed portions of the film but also because these movies are really very fun popcorn movies. The action, while ridiculous, is always fun to watch and even tho it’s TOTALLY unbelievable it’s always a good time.

Jason Statham, who is all kinds of manly man hot, is featured in the new issue of GQ magazine modeling suits and accessories that show GQ readers how to be the Best Dressed Man at the Office. Uh hun, whatevs … you put Jason Statham in a suit and I’ll stand up and take notice, behold:

Jason Statham’s voice marks him immediately not so much as an alpha male, but as an alpha bloke. It’s gravelly but melodic in that working-class-Brit way, and it’s on good display in this month’s Death Race, a sort of amped-up remake of the Stallone-Carradine film from 1975. This time out, a prison warden played by Joan Allen forces her cons to compete in a deadly NASCAR game. “The cars are a bit ‘ard to drive,” explains Statham, “because dey got aull dese guns mounted on ‘em.” It’s no surprise that Statham scored his first acting job — in 1998’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels — by doing an impression of a street vendor for director Guy Ritchie. It helped that his day job at the time was what Londoners call fly pitching. “It’s street-corner sales, on the fly,” Statham says. “You open up your case, and when the police come you close up. It’s kind of illegal. That’s why you work with lookouts and several stooges wiffin the crowd.” Two modest Ritchie parts were enough to convince Luc Besson that this man could carry The Transporter in 2002. With his brand of athleticism in short supply, he’s worked steadily ever since (like in this year’s surprisingly good hit The Bank Job). The hardest part of staying in action-hero shape? “Booze is difficult to give up if you’re from the UK,” Statham says. Though his work is in L.A., the 36-year-old actor holds on to a place in London. “When I get sick of one, I go to the other,” he says. “Hollywood’s a desperate town; people are obsessed with the industry, and there’s all the horrible bullshit that goes with that, so it’s hard to find a nice girl. But Brits walk around hanging their heads and moaning all day.” “So,” he concludes, with a cheerful little lift in pitch, “you just can’t win.”

Generally, I’m on board with Jason Statham films … they’re usually mindlessly fun movies … but I must confess that I have zero interest in Death Race. I can take comfort, tho, in the fact that Statham has signed on to make a third Transporter movie for which I will be eternally grateful. If you’ve never seen either the Transporter or Transporter 2 I urge you to check either of them out. Seeing the first one isn’t a requirement to enjoy the second one … they each stand pretty much on their own. I find them both horribly entertaining. They feature feats that are physically impossible and, yet, totally believable. This man does things with his body — while wearing a suit, I might add — that is not to be missed. Oh yes, I’m a big Statham fan … Woot!
