NINJA2009.com offers an EP with unreleased songs from NIN, Jane's Addiction & Street Sweeper
Trent Reznor Releases A Batch Of Unreleased Music

As promised and in celebration of the upcoming NIN/JA Tour that will feature co-headliners Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction and Tom Morello‘s new project Street Sweeper, Trent Reznor launched the new site www.NINJA2009.com earlier this morning. Visitors to the site are offered the opportunity to download a 6 song EP that features unreleased tracks from all three bands (2 songs from each). Here is what the artwork for the EP looks like:

The tour sampler offers FREE studio versions of the previously unreleased Nine Inch Nails outtake tracks Not So Pretty Now and Non-Entity that were recorded during the With Teeth album sessions. Non-Entity appears on the Beside You In Time DVD but neither track has ever been officially made available by TR … until now. The two Jane’s Addiction tracks, Chip Away and Whores, appear to be from the recording sessions for their new album (which, I understand, was produced by Trent Reznor). The two Street Sweeper tracks, Clap for the Killers and The Oath, are our first tastes of Tom Morello‘s new project. I’ve already listened to all of the tracks twice now and they rock. What a great way to get amped up for the coming NIN/JA Tour. Head on over to NINJA2009.com NOW to download this free music … you won’t be disappointed.

Presenting, Street Sweeper
Trent Reznor Announces ‘NIN/JA Tour’ Support Act

Trent Reznor posted a new announcement on the official Nine Inch Nails website last night letting the world know that NIN and Jane’s Addiction would be joined by another act for their upcoming NIN/JA Tour here in the US. Street Sweeper, a new project which features Tom Morello and Boots Riley, will join the NIN/JAs as the opening act on the tour. Here is the full text of this latest announcement from TR:

FULL LINEUP ANNOUNCED!

Our tour this summer with Jane’s Addiction just got that much cooler. I’m happy to announce the addition of Street Sweeper – the new project featuring Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine / The Nightwatchman) and Boots Riley (The Coup). Have an exclusive first listen RIGHT HERE. We are aiming to make this much more than just three acts sharing a bill… Tour dates RIGHT HERE. On sale info coming soon.

Woot! As you may recall, TR announced a batch of NIN/JA Tour dates earlier this week and now we know the full make-up of the tour’s lineup. I can’t even wrap my head around all the awesomeness … Tom Morello from Rage, Jane’s MF Addiction and NINE INCH NAILS. I fear my head will explode at the first show … I can’t wait to find out :)

The NIN/JA Tour is comin' our way
Trent Reznor Releases The Official List Of US Tour Dates

Trent Reznor and the boys of Nine Inch Nails have returned home to the States after completing their short tour of New Zealand and Australia which took place over the last few weeks and are already planning their concert tour outing with Jane’s Addiction which will take place here in the US later on this Spring/Summer. TR updated the official Nine Inch Nails website with a batch of SOME concert dates (which, incidentally, do not match up with the leaked dates we got last week … so those dates must be wrong) which I present to y’all here:

3.3.09: some official NIN/JA tour dates
Here’s what we can tell you so far:

Fri-May-08 West Palm Beach, FL [Cruzan Amphitheatre]
Sat-May-09 Tampa, FL [Ford Amphitheatre]
Sun-May-10 Atlanta, GA [Lakewood Amphitheatre]
Thu-May-14 Albuquerque, NM [Journal Pavilion]

Tue-Jun-09 Columbia, MD [Merriweather Post Pavilion]
Wed-Jun-10 Burgettstown, PA [Post-Gazette Pavilion]
Fri-Jun-12 Charlotte, NC [Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre]

The implication to me is that this is just the first set of dates that have been finalized and can be officially announced. I suspect that more dates will be added to this list. I’m happy to see that the LA area dates as well as the Detroit area dates are included in this first round of announced dates. I deffo plan to see the guys here in LA (the Irvine, CA show) and may even fly home to see them in Detroit (the Clarkston, MI show). While I am very excited that NIN will be back on stage so soon after the end of their last tour, I’m starting to get more bummed that this tour will be the last NIN tour for some time (or ever!). BUT, we should focus on the positive and look forward to these new dates. I am very, very excited. NIN and Jane’s Addiction … I cannot wait!

The First Batch Of NIN & Jane’s Addiction Tourdates Have Surfaced

Last.fm has published a new rumored set of upcoming Jane’s Addiction tourdates and it turns out that they are all dates the band will be playing in support of Nine Inch Nails when they return to the US to begin their new tour here. All dates, except for the first which is a festival tour date (that NIN will be playing as well) published on Last.fm are dates that Jane’s will play with NIN. Here are the rumored dates that have been released thus far:

Saturday 23 May 2009
Sasquatch! 2009 at Gorge Amphitheatre
Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction, more. Gorge Amphitheatre – George, WA

Sunday 7 June 2009
Nine Inch Nails at Cruzan Amphitheatre
Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction Cruzan Amphitheatre – West Palm Beach, FL

Monday 8 June 2009
Nine Inch Nails at Ford Amphitheatre
Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction … Ford Amphitheatre – Tampa, FL

Wednesday 24 June 2009
Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction … Comcast Center – Mansfield, MA

Friday 26 June 2009
Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction … Nikon at Jones Beach Theater – New York, NY

Saturday 27 June 2009
Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction … Susquehanna Bank Center – Camden, NJ

Woot! I’m fairly certain that this is just a short list of some of the dates that the bands will be playing together … Trent Reznor has posted a message on NIN.com that “Tour dates for [their] upcoming tour with Jane’s Addiction will be posted soon.” But these dates are a great tease for what’s to come if, in fact, they are the real deal. NIN and Jane’s Addiction … together again … on the same stage … I’m SO dying. I cannot wait until the full list of dates hits the Internets, hopefully soon. Are any of y’all planning on catching this epic tour when it comes to YOUR hometown?

The TV Guide
‘Creado Y Regado De Los Angeles’

Last night, I was very fortunate to be among the lucky few to be allowed entry into The Echoplex here in LA to attend the notso secret Jane’s Addiction show that was quietly announced a few days ago. A new friend messaged me on Saturday night (while David and I were enjoying our Valentine’s Day dinner) and asked if I was interested in seeing Jane’s play a show on Monday night … so, of course, I immediately said YES!!! I was allowed to bring 3 people so I asked my dear friend and musician Ollie from The OohLas if she would like to come with. In the end, David opted out and Ollie brought her friend Caleb and we met up at the Echoplex to watch Perry Farrell and the boys play and pretend it was 1990 all over again. Here are a few photos from last night’s show:

I am very happy to report that the guys are in fine form … they sounded great. Dave Navarro killed it on guitar, tho (as Caleb noted) he seemed to be holding back a bit. I suspect this small club show (coupled with the one the band played at the minuscule El Cid venue last November) is more a warm-up thing rather than an indication of what’s to come. Now that we know that Jane’s Addiction will be touring with Nine Inch Nails later on this year, I’m sure the guys will TEAR IT UP once the full-blown tour gets underway. Perry Farrell, gods bless his soul, hasn’t lost a thing … he looks great, he sounds great … he is the same wiry little minxy-minstrel that he has ever been. If I have one complaint, it would be that the show was WAY too short. The band went on at 11pm and were finished at just after midnight. Trust me, I am not complaining at all … but the band has such an amazing catalog of songs that I think many in the crowd (me included) were left wanting more (they didn’t even play Jane Says). Truth be told, tho, tt was pretty damn thrilling to see the band in action again. It’s been, seriously, a million years since I saw the band together on stage (I think Perry had dreadlocks back then) and, no lie, I was immediately zapped back in time as the first notes rang from the speakers last night. I really wish all y’all could be there. It was kinda magic.

After the jump, check out a video I shot of the band performing Mountain Song so that y’all can kinda experience some of last night’s magic, too …
