New mom Jamie Lynn Spears took her baby girl Maddie Briann for a mother/daughter shopping trip this weekend in her new home of McComb, MS. It looks like JL and MB managed to get in quite a bit of bonding time over bargain shopping at their friendly neighborhood Walmart store:

You know, in these tough economic times it makes total sense to be as frugal as possible when it comes to our shopping practices. While my discount store of choice is Target, I really can’t hate on JL for smartly recognizing that it is very wise to pinch as many pennies as possible. It really looks like she is settling into motherhood with some semblance of normalcy. While she may still get papped in Mississippi, I imagine that she is able to go thru her normal day much easier than she would if she lived in SoCal. New parents Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge have, reportedly, reached out to OK! magazine in an effort to combat the rumors going around about their relationship as a couple. This week’s issue of OK! features an older photo (taken during new baby Maddie Briann’s first photoshoot for the mag) of the couple behind the headline, I’m No Cheater … behold:

In a rare, exclusive interview, new parents Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge have reached out to OK! to defend themselves and their relationship against the tidal wave of rumor that has nagged them since the June 19 birth of their adorable baby daughter, Maddie Briann. A recent series of scurrilous tabloid stories have alleged that not only has 19-year-old Casey been unfaithful to Jamie Lynn, but that he’s also gotten another woman pregnant. The stories insist that the couple’s relationship is a sham and that he is still seeing other girls! On the topic of former friend Kelli Dawson, who claims to have been romantically involved with Casey, even after Maddie’s birth, he tells OK! these allegations of infidelity are “not the least bit” true. “In a small town, everybody knows everybody,” he explains. “But when money’s involved, you find out who your friends are.” As for reports he impregnated Kelli, a stunned Casey told OK!, “That’s news to me.” “That is just completely fabricated,” adds Jamie Lynn. “He never had an intimate relationship with her, so how would that be possible? Around here, that particular girl is known to make up stories.” And then there’s Whitney Seals, who supposedly romanced Casey. Says Jamie Lynn, “What happened was that one of those girls did it, and in this small town when one of them does it, they’re all like, ‘Good idea.’ They all jumped on the bandwagon.” The tall tales have taken their toll on the young parents. “It hurt me to hear those things,” reveals Jamie Lynn to OK!. “Because my family has to read it. It’s not fair to them.” Another factor making things worse is that the Aldridge family has been thrust unwillingly into the spotlight. “Casey’s family is not used to this,” the former Zoey 101 star explains. “They might assume it’s true. My family knows it’s not. It was definitely harder for Casey’s family to deal with it, but you just explain that it is part of this business.” The new mom says that her family has stood beside her through the entire ordeal. “They know if I were in a relationship like that, I wouldn’t put up with it,” she tells OK!. “My family supports me, and they support Casey also. They read those stories and take them with a grain of salt.”

Casey-Lynn is referring to THIS report from In Touch Weekly that published an interview with Kelli Dawson, who claims she had an intimate relationship with Casey Aldridge. Why the couple waited this long to refute Dawson’s claims, I’m sure I have no idea but at least they’ve spoken up at last. Well, I guess now that Jamie Lynn and Casey have finally denounced the rumors of infidelity, we can put that issue to rest …

… and move on to a new Casey-Lynn rumor to take its place. The National Enquirer is reporting that Jamie Lynn is pregs with her second child — say it ain’t so!

Whoops – she did it again! Teen Prego Queen Jamie Lynn Spears has another bun in the oven, The NATIONAL ENQUIRER is reporting exclusively – and her pals are begging her to abort. In a blockbuster world exclusive, The ENQUIRER has learned that the 17-year-old Zoey 101 starlet is now expecting for the second time – a mere three months after giving birth on June 19 to baby Maddie Briann. Jamie’s desperate to keep the shock­ing news secret and some people close to her are urging Jamie Lynn to consider ending the pregnancy, sources say. “Jamie Lynn is about eight weeks pregnant, and she and her mom Lynne are hysterical,” revealed a close source. “Neither of them knows what to do, but for now they’re trying to keep the news from getting out.” Too late. The unplanned pregnancy came as a shock to Jamie Lynn, who’d been breast-feeding her infant daughter Maddie Briann, insiders say. “Jamie Lynn believed she couldn’t get pregnant while she was breast-feeding,” said the close source. “She’d expected to have her period by early September.” A home pregnancy test came back positive and Jamie Lynn cried her eyes out, said the source. Her mother Lynne was livid when she found out, divulged an insider. Meanwhile, insiders say that those close to Jamie Lynn are urging her to abort! “They’ve reminded Jamie Lynn how much trouble she had adjusting to motherhood with Maddie, and pointed out that having a second baby now would only be a recipe for disaster,” said the close source.

Now, I must confess that The National Enquirer isn’t always the bastion of verity that they wish they were but they do get these stories right sometimes (just ask Sen. John Edwards). TMZ is sourcing an “unimpeachable source” that claims this pregnancy report is categorically untrue:

Three-month-old Maddie Briann Aldridge is gonna have to wait to have a lil’ baby brother or sister, because Jamie Lynn Spears is not pregnant, y’all! While several reports are claiming Jamie Lynn is preggers again, an unimpeachable source tells TMZ Britney’s baby sis does not have another bun in the oven.

To be honest, I would not be surprised if JL did get pregs again … if not now, sometime in the future. After all, neither she nor Casey has really proven to be the sharpest tools in the shed. I really do think that Casey-Lynn needn’t spawn any further but … I guess time will tell if either of them learn safe sex practices.

Mama Lynne Spears is opening up to Newsweek magazine about the unfair treatment that her family received, and her daughter Jamie Lynn Spears in particular, after news came out that JL got pregs at 16 as opposed to the treatment that the Palin family received when news broke about Bristol Palin’s teenage pregnancy. Lynne calls foul that the Palins were “celebrated” by being forthcoming with their news (well, mebbe not totally forthcoming at the start … they were forced to admit the pregnancy after political blogs started putting the pieces of the story together) while Spears was “crucified” for her admission. Here is a portion of Mama Lynne’s interview with Newsweek magazine:

Lynne Spears says the public had a “totally different reaction” to the teen pregnancies of her daughter Jamie Lynn and Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol. “It’s as if [Sarah Palin] became celebrated,” Lynne told Newsweek. “I mean, the mother, Palin, was celebrated for this. Every woman in the world has applauded her strength and her convictions and poor little old Jamie Lynn, you saw how she was crucified – everybody did, firsthand,” Lynne said. “I just feel like it’s been a very hypocritical situation.” In December, Jamie Lynn, the star of Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 was 16 when she announced her pregnancy. She gave birth to daughter Maddie in June at the age of 17. In August, Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, revealed that her 17-year-old daughter is expecting and engaged. “Do I promote teen sex? Of course not,” Lynne told Newsweek. “Do I promote teen pregnancy? Needless to say, of course not. But when it happens, you deal with it and you do the best you can do. Jamie Lynn has done beautifully with what she’s done,” Lynne said. “Could every other teenager do what Jamie Lynn has done?” asked Lynne. “No indeed.” Lynne also rebutted criticism that Jamie Lynn glamorized teen pregnancy. “We don’t want this said, ’cause this would be glamorizing, but I will tell you a secret: her baby does sleep all night,” Lynne explained. “What do you think about those apples? Maddie is the best baby I have ever seen,” Lynne added. “She is like a little angel. She’s so contented. She laughs and she coos and ahead of herself with her stages. But of course we can’t tell that because then we would just glamorize it more.” Lynne, the author of a tell-all memoir titled Through the Storm, told Newsweek that she “really can’t give advice” to the Palin family. “Everybody’s situation is different,” she said. “I would never tell anybody else what to do with their child. I would never attempt to make them think I knew more about their child. Even if they were to ask, I would tell them dig deep, what do you think?”

You know, I noticed this same sort of thing myself … while I don’t consider both situations absolutely identical, I can absolutely sympathize with Lynne’s contention that her family was treated more unfairly. I, personally, was very surprised at how applauded the Palin family was by their own conservative political party. It has been my estimation that social conservatives are the ones to start throwing stones first whenever a public figure suffers a very public human fault like this … and yet the Palins were celebrated for their “strength”. The Spears family, tho, were vilified and horribly criticized in comparison. I see her point and I think she has a valid one. Do y’all think that there was a disparity in fair treatment between the similar family situations? If so, is it justified?

In other Spears-related news, I feel that I have to nominate new teenage dad Casey Aldridge as Moron of the Year. According to a new report from TMZ, Casey thought it would be a brilliant idea to snap a bunch of private, family photos — including one of his teenage bride babymama Jamie Lynn Spears exposing her left breast as she nursed their new born baby daughter Maddie Briann — and then take his camera to his friendly neighborhood Wal-Mart so that he could make a few copies of said photos. It never occurred to him that processing photos of his very famous family at a place like Wal-Mart might not be the best idea, especially since those Wal-Mart employees make minimum wage and the huge pay-out for private Spears family photos can be very high. It now turns out, according to the report, that federal and state authorities have gotten involved to help track down the photo peddlers because the exposed breast photo of JL is considered “child pornography” since she is still underage, even tho she’s already a mother. Um. Yeah:

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ federal and local authorities are on the hunt for someone peddling 12 pics of Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn, daughter Maddie and baby daddy Casey Aldridge. One of the pictures shows Jamie Lynn breast feeding Maddie — Jamie Lynn’s left breast is exposed. The pics were taken on Casey’s digital camera. We’re told he took the camera card to his local Wal-Mart in Louisiana for copies. Law enforcement believes someone at the Wal-Mart may have made extra copies, then tried selling them. Because Jamie Lynn is a minor, selling the pics — or buying them — could constitute a violation of federal laws prohibiting pornography. Peddling pictures of a minor’s breast — even if not taken for sexual purposes — could land the seller and the buyer in federal prison if they are marketed across state lines for the purpose of being lurid. Also, anyone purchasing the pics could be prosecuted for the crime of receiving stolen property. Other pics in the set include Britney holding the baby and one of Jamie Lynn, Britney, Brian (Brit’s bro), Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears around Jamie Lynn’s hospital bed. There are also pics of Maddie by herself, and there’s a picture of Jamie Lynn in a negligee holding the baby. Authorities are trying to find the man who is attempting to sell the photos. In addition, we’re told Britney’s lawyers are thinking about going after Wal-Mart for the alleged security breach.

I mean … really? It never occurred to Casey that developing photos like this at Wal-Mart might be a bad idea? While it is grossly unfair that celebrities have to take extra precautions with things like this, I think it makes a wee bit more sense to mebbe invest in a $100 photo printer to print out personal pics like this? Mebbe? I mean, yes I understand that the Wal-Mart person is ultimately responsible for this heinous crime but I simply cannot believe that Casey would be this dumb. Actually, considering the situation he got him and his teenage lover in by practicing unsafe sex, I can believe he is this dumb.

For the record, the photo above of JL and MB is not one of the pilfered pics but is a photo snapped by OK! magazine after MB’s birth. You can tell it’s not one of Casey’s photos cuz JL’s breasts are fully covered.

On Sunday, we got to see a few pics of the party from a far-off vantage point. Yesterday, we got to see a few close-up pics of Mama Lynne Spears posing with her newest grandbaby Maddie Brianne. Today we get a whole slew of photos of almost the entire Spears clan (only big brother Bryan Spears is missing) happily enjoying quality time with one another … I must admit, these pics damn near bring a tear to my eye:

POP star BRITNEY SPEARS looks to have put her troubles behind her as she relaxes with the whole family at a bash to celebrate her two sons’ birthdays. The Toxic singer’s eldest boy SEAN PRESTON turned three on Sunday, while JAYDEN JAMES celebrated his second birthday two days earlier. Britney, mum LYNNE, dad JAMIE, sister JAMIE LYNN and the teen’s newborn daughter MADDIE watched Sean and his brother driving their presents of electric cars at the star’s Los Angeles home … After reclaiming her gorgeous figure in the gym, she’s now gearing up to release her comeback album Circus in December. The collection, which is issued on her 27th birthday, features songs penned by some of the planet’s mightiest hit-makers. DR. LUKE, DANJA, MAX MARTIN, BLOODSHY & AVANT and GUY SIGSWORTH, who between them have composed chart-toppers for the likes of KATY PERRY, PINK, KYLIE MINOGUE and MADONNA, have all contributed tracks … Looks like it could be a very merry Christmas in the Spears household this year.

I know I say this all the time but I’m gonna keep on saying it … I am SO THRILLED at how much healing has taken place in the Spears family. They’ve all struggled thru a long, tough road over the past few years. They weren’t always unified but I have always contended that they have always loved and supported one another. Yesterday we got to see a few photos from the joint birthday party that Britney Spears hosted for her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James … but those pics were taken from some distance away. Here are a few new pictures from yesterday’s birthday party … Grandmama Lynne Spears was spending as much time as possible lurvin’ up on her newborn grandyoung’n Maddie Briann:

Oh yes, you can still see that Maddie Briann looks very much like her papa Casey Aldridge (who I believe was not in attendance at yesterday’s Spears family birthday party). It’s still pretty insane to think that Jamie Lynn Spears is this baby’s mother but … well, we’ve been over all of that before. It really looks like everyone had a great time at the party yesterday … the Spears family seems happy and unified at long last. Now that we have a release date for Britney’s new album, we can look to the future and move forward. I’m amazed at all the struggle that this family has been thru over the past few years and yet … they keep on, keepin’ on. I just hope that they are finally able to move forward as happily and as healthily as possible. I also hope this is the end of all the baby-makin’ but … well … I guess we’ll take things as they come. It’s been a long year for the Spears family … hopefully the best is yet to come.

Yesterday afternoon, Britney Spears invited an intimate selection of family members and close friends to a birthday party she hosted for her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. Because her eldest son was born on September 14, 2005 and her second son was born on September 12, 2006 it, apparently, makes the most sense to celebrate the boys’ birthdays together since their birthdays are only 2 days shy of a year apart. Here are a few pics of Spears family birthday fête which took place in Los Feliz, CA yesterday afternoon:

Britney Spears revved up the celebration for sons Preston and Jayden on Saturday, throwing her sons a joint car and truck-themed birthday bash in Los Angeles. And the party was truly a family affair. Spears celebrated her boys’ special days – Preston turns 3 on Sept. 14, and Jayden turned 2 on Sept. 12 – with sister Jamie Lynn Spears, her newborn niece Maddie Briann, dad Jamie and mom Lynne. Held at close friend Adrienne Maloof-Nassif’s Beverly Park house, the outdoor party drew some famous guests, including Jenny McCarthy with her son Evan, and Gwen Stefani’s son Kingston, 2, who came to the bash from an equally starry affair: He celebrated Heidi Klum’s son Henry’s 3rd birthday at the model’s Beverly Hills house along with all three of Victoria Beckham’s sons. But the guests of honor seemed to be having the best time. Preston and Jayden drove around the party in mini motorized cars, which were customized Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier. The cars featured tattoo-inspired decals, Ed Hardy air fresheners and personalized license plates. To keep with the party’s theme, the cake was in shape of a yellow truck. “The boys received tons of birthday gifts,” a source told PEOPLE. “Britney and her family really made the party special for the boys.”

Oh yeah, now this sounds like a good ol’ fashioned Spears family get-together. I’m actually surprised that there is no mention in this report of Kevin Federline being in attendance … surely the father of the kids was allowed to attend. As you can tell from the first photo, Britney’s older brother Bryan was in the hiz for the celebration and he wasn’t mentioned either. In any event, it looks like a really fun birthday for the boys … we know they love trucks so I assume they had a great time. Happy Birthday, Sean Preston (tomorrow) and Jayden James (yesterday)!!!

UPDATE: I just found out that Kevin Federline WAS NOT in attendance at his sons’ joint birthday party after all, he was bizzy partying with “a group of ladies” and spent all of last night seated at Privé nightclub’s private and exclusive Table 69 in Las Vegas, NV. Proof positive that K-Fed is worthy of his recent Father of the Year title.
