Maddie Briann doesn’t get to spend much time with aunt Brit Brit so I’m sure she appreciates this time together. With all the touring that’s been going on this year, Britney hasn’t really had much time to hang with her family as much as she’d prolly like to. Sure, she’ll meet up with them along the way as the tour carries on but it’s not the same as everyday contact. It’s really encouraging to know that Britney’s handlers are making sure to keep her connected with her family as much as possible as she works her ass off on tour. Our dear Britney still has many more US dates ahead of her and then she jets off to Australia for some shows there … the end of the road isn’t really in sight for her just yet … which is why I’m sure she is really enjoying this little vacy with her family in Miami.

It’s great to see them as a happy family, together again. After all the drama this family has been thru in recent years, it’s nice to see that all that seems to be water under the bridge … and life ahead looks happy and sunny. It’s crazy how big Maddie has grown … she’s like a little kid already. It’s just so cool to see them all bonding like one big happy family.

Whew! I’m glad that rumor has been debunked. I’m sure a great many of you were standing on any number of high buildings and bridges all around the world racked with worry that Jamie Lynn and Casey were on the outs. I’m sure it comes as a HUGE relief to so many of you rooting for this couple to beat the odds and stay together forever. Tho, I imagine it comes as NO RELIEF to see that Casey has no problem smoking around his infant daughter or that JL seems to let him. Blah.

She’s been working since she was 11 — and a mother since she was 17 — so it’s actually refreshing to see Jamie Lynn Spears enjoying herself just like any other 18-year-old unwed mother. The younger Spears girl partied the weekend before last — with baby daddy Casey Aldridge — at a club called The Buzz in Hammond, La. It’s an 18 & over club and, amazingly, the VIP manager there told us he didn’t even know Jamie Lynn was ever there.

Now, I don’t know for sure … but I would bet good money that there ain’t milk in that plastic cup that Jamie Lynn is holding. To be honest, I wouldn’t blame the girl one bit if she were hittin’ the sauce … I imagine her life didn’t turn out quite the way she had planned. In the second pic you can see that Casey got a tattoo in his inner forearm … it’s not very clear but I think it reads Maddie Briann (the name of his daughter with Jamie Lynn). In the last pic you can clearly see the heinous mouth sores the poor guy is sportin’ …. again, the stress of teenage parenthood is most likely the cause. While it’s nice to see that JL can get out of the house, away from the baby and enjoy a night on the town … I can’t help but feel an ounce of sadness to see that this is what her life has become.

Unfortch, babydaddy Casey Aldridge got into a car accident on Sunday when he lost control of his truck and flipped it, resulting in injuries to Casey and 3 other passengers. It is being reported that Casey will be moved from ICU so he should be OK but JL and MB packed up their shizz and flew back home to Louisiana so that they could be with Casey during his recuperation. This is the first time that we’ve seen Maddie Briann in quite some time … I believe the last time we saw her she was still a tiny thing being pushed around in a stroller. She has grown considerably since we saw her late last year. It’s still strange to think of Jamie Lynn as a mother but, as I understand it, she and Casey have been holding their own as parents. Except for Casey’s wild ride this weekend, the couple have remained out of trubs and have been keeping well out of sight. I suppose JL and Maddie will stay out of sight for the duration of Casey’s recuperation but it was nice to get a peek at the little girl after all these months.

Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn has reportedly called off her wedding to the father of her daughter – months after she was forced to deny rumours of a split. The pop star’s younger sibling hit the headlines at 16 when she announced she was expecting a child with her boyfriend Casey Aldridge, who she vowed to marry. Following the birth of their daughter Maddie Briann in June, the teen couple became the subject of fervent tabloid speculation which suggested they were living apart after Aldridge cheated on Spears. The Zoey 101 star came forward in October to deny the persistent infidelity rumours and re-iterate her plans to tie the knot with her boyfriend. But now the 17-year-old is said to have scrapped her plans to walk down the aisle with Aldridge once and for all – after deciding she doesn’t need an official ceremony to make her happy. A source tells U.S. magazine OK!, “The wedding’s off. They are still in love, living together and very happy, but they have no plans to get married. Jamie Lynn has everything she wants and feels no need for a ring and piece of paper.” And the publication alleges that Spears has also decided to give up her acting career – so she can focus on raising her toddler. The insider adds: “She has told friends and family she’s never coming back to Hollywood. She feels that part of her life is over. Jamie Lynn enjoyed every minute of doing Zoey, but since she’s had Maddie, her life has changed completely. “She’s happy being a real hands-on Southern mother and hopes to continue that for years to come with Casey right by her side. Jamie Lynn knows she needs to make a living when she grows older, so she’s already discussing her career options with advisers. She wants Maddie to grow up in comfort.”

Meh. Who needs a wedding to be in love? JL and Casey are still very young … even tho they already got the makin’ babies part down, there’s no need for them to rush into marriage if they feel they aren’t ready. I don’t know that Jamie Lynn Spears has made very many mature and adult decisions in her young life but it sounds like mebbe she is finally growing up. I guess havin’ babies can do that to a person. I bet Casey is pretty thrilled that the wedding’s off, too. Something tells me that he’s not the marrying kind … not yet anyway. Something also tells me that he would prolly do whatever JL tells him to do so … yeah, sigh of relief. I support their decision to hold off on the wedding until they’re ready to make a serious commitment to one another … let’s just hope there aren’t any more babies in the near future for these two.

AWW, it’s really great to see little JJ lookin’ his usual cute self. As some of you may be aware, this trip to Louisiana is the first for Jayden so he prolly either really enjoyed/was really terrified of the alligators at the farm they visited. Since he comes from the stock of bayou people, I suspect he enjoyed the experience. Glad to see him back up and around.

Ack. As much as I love me some Britney, I don’t think this photo is particularly flattering. Not only is the outfit atrocious but the poor dear looks Photoshopped within an inch of her life! The airbrushing that has been applied to her face has given her mannish features that aren’t doing her any favors. Come to think of it, I wasn’t particularly WOWed by the cover artwork for her new album either. I really hope these photos are not a sign of things to come. You know, in these tough economic times it makes total sense to be as frugal as possible when it comes to our shopping practices. While my discount store of choice is Target, I really can’t hate on JL for smartly recognizing that it is very wise to pinch as many pennies as possible. It really looks like she is settling into motherhood with some semblance of normalcy. While she may still get papped in Mississippi, I imagine that she is able to go thru her normal day much easier than she would if she lived in SoCal. Again, good ol’ boy Casey was doing what any normal 19-year old father with a family to support might be doing on a lazy Saturday afternoon … he was warshin’ his monster truck, y’all:

You know, I may give Casey some good-matured ribbing but I am a bit impressed with the lad. I recall that as soon as Kevin Federline sunk his hooks into Britney Spears (and her enormous bank accounts) he started tooling around town in expensive cars. Not so, for Casey. He is still drivin’ around in the massively oversize pickup truck that he had before he impregnated Jamie Lynn. While I’m not too fond of the couple’s spawning practices, I’m happy to see that they continue to stay together as a family and I am glad to see that they are still acting as any unwed teenage parents might in their everyday lives, despite JL’s riches. They’ve still got some growin’ up to do but as long as they do so in as normal a way as possible, they just might make it after all.

In a rare, exclusive interview, new parents Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge have reached out to OK! to defend themselves and their relationship against the tidal wave of rumor that has nagged them since the June 19 birth of their adorable baby daughter, Maddie Briann. A recent series of scurrilous tabloid stories have alleged that not only has 19-year-old Casey been unfaithful to Jamie Lynn, but that he’s also gotten another woman pregnant. The stories insist that the couple’s relationship is a sham and that he is still seeing other girls! On the topic of former friend Kelli Dawson, who claims to have been romantically involved with Casey, even after Maddie’s birth, he tells OK! these allegations of infidelity are “not the least bit” true. “In a small town, everybody knows everybody,” he explains. “But when money’s involved, you find out who your friends are.” As for reports he impregnated Kelli, a stunned Casey told OK!, “That’s news to me.” “That is just completely fabricated,” adds Jamie Lynn. “He never had an intimate relationship with her, so how would that be possible? Around here, that particular girl is known to make up stories.” And then there’s Whitney Seals, who supposedly romanced Casey. Says Jamie Lynn, “What happened was that one of those girls did it, and in this small town when one of them does it, they’re all like, ‘Good idea.’ They all jumped on the bandwagon.” The tall tales have taken their toll on the young parents. “It hurt me to hear those things,” reveals Jamie Lynn to OK!. “Because my family has to read it. It’s not fair to them.” Another factor making things worse is that the Aldridge family has been thrust unwillingly into the spotlight. “Casey’s family is not used to this,” the former Zoey 101 star explains. “They might assume it’s true. My family knows it’s not. It was definitely harder for Casey’s family to deal with it, but you just explain that it is part of this business.” The new mom says that her family has stood beside her through the entire ordeal. “They know if I were in a relationship like that, I wouldn’t put up with it,” she tells OK!. “My family supports me, and they support Casey also. They read those stories and take them with a grain of salt.”

Casey-Lynn is referring to THIS report from In Touch Weekly that published an interview with Kelli Dawson, who claims she had an intimate relationship with Casey Aldridge. Why the couple waited this long to refute Dawson’s claims, I’m sure I have no idea but at least they’ve spoken up at last. Well, I guess now that Jamie Lynn and Casey have finally denounced the rumors of infidelity, we can put that issue to rest …

… and move on to a new Casey-Lynn rumor to take its place. The National Enquirer is reporting that Jamie Lynn is pregs with her second child — say it ain’t so!

Whoops – she did it again! Teen Prego Queen Jamie Lynn Spears has another bun in the oven, The NATIONAL ENQUIRER is reporting exclusively – and her pals are begging her to abort. In a blockbuster world exclusive, The ENQUIRER has learned that the 17-year-old Zoey 101 starlet is now expecting for the second time – a mere three months after giving birth on June 19 to baby Maddie Briann. Jamie’s desperate to keep the shock­ing news secret and some people close to her are urging Jamie Lynn to consider ending the pregnancy, sources say. “Jamie Lynn is about eight weeks pregnant, and she and her mom Lynne are hysterical,” revealed a close source. “Neither of them knows what to do, but for now they’re trying to keep the news from getting out.” Too late. The unplanned pregnancy came as a shock to Jamie Lynn, who’d been breast-feeding her infant daughter Maddie Briann, insiders say. “Jamie Lynn believed she couldn’t get pregnant while she was breast-feeding,” said the close source. “She’d expected to have her period by early September.” A home pregnancy test came back positive and Jamie Lynn cried her eyes out, said the source. Her mother Lynne was livid when she found out, divulged an insider. Meanwhile, insiders say that those close to Jamie Lynn are urging her to abort! “They’ve reminded Jamie Lynn how much trouble she had adjusting to motherhood with Maddie, and pointed out that having a second baby now would only be a recipe for disaster,” said the close source.

Now, I must confess that The National Enquirer isn’t always the bastion of verity that they wish they were but they do get these stories right sometimes (just ask Sen. John Edwards). TMZ is sourcing an “unimpeachable source” that claims this pregnancy report is categorically untrue:

Three-month-old Maddie Briann Aldridge is gonna have to wait to have a lil’ baby brother or sister, because Jamie Lynn Spears is not pregnant, y’all! While several reports are claiming Jamie Lynn is preggers again, an unimpeachable source tells TMZ Britney’s baby sis does not have another bun in the oven.

To be honest, I would not be surprised if JL did get pregs again … if not now, sometime in the future. After all, neither she nor Casey has really proven to be the sharpest tools in the shed. I really do think that Casey-Lynn needn’t spawn any further but … I guess time will tell if either of them learn safe sex practices.

Lynne Spears says the public had a “totally different reaction” to the teen pregnancies of her daughter Jamie Lynn and Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol. “It’s as if [Sarah Palin] became celebrated,” Lynne told Newsweek. “I mean, the mother, Palin, was celebrated for this. Every woman in the world has applauded her strength and her convictions and poor little old Jamie Lynn, you saw how she was crucified – everybody did, firsthand,” Lynne said. “I just feel like it’s been a very hypocritical situation.” In December, Jamie Lynn, the star of Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 was 16 when she announced her pregnancy. She gave birth to daughter Maddie in June at the age of 17. In August, Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, revealed that her 17-year-old daughter is expecting and engaged. “Do I promote teen sex? Of course not,” Lynne told Newsweek. “Do I promote teen pregnancy? Needless to say, of course not. But when it happens, you deal with it and you do the best you can do. Jamie Lynn has done beautifully with what she’s done,” Lynne said. “Could every other teenager do what Jamie Lynn has done?” asked Lynne. “No indeed.” Lynne also rebutted criticism that Jamie Lynn glamorized teen pregnancy. “We don’t want this said, ’cause this would be glamorizing, but I will tell you a secret: her baby does sleep all night,” Lynne explained. “What do you think about those apples? Maddie is the best baby I have ever seen,” Lynne added. “She is like a little angel. She’s so contented. She laughs and she coos and ahead of herself with her stages. But of course we can’t tell that because then we would just glamorize it more.” Lynne, the author of a tell-all memoir titled Through the Storm, told Newsweek that she “really can’t give advice” to the Palin family. “Everybody’s situation is different,” she said. “I would never tell anybody else what to do with their child. I would never attempt to make them think I knew more about their child. Even if they were to ask, I would tell them dig deep, what do you think?”

You know, I noticed this same sort of thing myself … while I don’t consider both situations absolutely identical, I can absolutely sympathize with Lynne’s contention that her family was treated more unfairly. I, personally, was very surprised at how applauded the Palin family was by their own conservative political party. It has been my estimation that social conservatives are the ones to start throwing stones first whenever a public figure suffers a very public human fault like this … and yet the Palins were celebrated for their “strength”. The Spears family, tho, were vilified and horribly criticized in comparison. I see her point and I think she has a valid one. Do y’all think that there was a disparity in fair treatment between the similar family situations? If so, is it justified?
