It’s been quite a long time since that fateful day back in 2007 that we all learned that Britney Spears‘s little sister (and Nickelodeon star) Jamie Lynn Spears got herself pregnant at 16 years old and became mother to Maddie Briann in June of 2008. Now, 5 years later (and hopefully a lot wiser), JL is ready to make her reemergence into the public eye with a new Country Music album. But in order for us to get reacquainted with the young actress/singer she is first catching us up on her last 5 life-changing years as a new mom. Glamour magazine is publishing a feature this month on Jamie Lynn in her own words (as told to writer Wendy Shanker) that you can preview below.

Last month we saw grainy video of Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister of our dear Britney Spears, making her public debut as a Country music singer in Nashville, TN. Footage of JL‘s burgeoning career as a Country artist was aired on Entertainment Tonight this week but, for the most part, Jamie Lynn has kept a tight lid on her new music. BUT, something tells me that that lid will be lifted very soon. To prepare for her reemergence into the limelight, Jamie Lynn has been readying herself for the public eye again … this week, she got her hair did with a set of shiny new extensions. Yesterday we saw photos from the FINAL performance of Britney Spears‘s Femme Fatale Tour which took place over the weekend in Puerto Rico and today we get to see one more bit of awesomeness from that last show. Thurout the tour, Britney brought fans up on stage to sing and dance with her during her performance of I Wanna Go (I was lucky enough to get pulled on stage during the final dress rehearsal back in June before the tour officially kicked off). Earlier this year Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister of our dear Britney Spears, joined Twitter and hinted that she was in the process of working on a debut album … in Nashville, TN. Altho she never actually announced the kind of music she was making, my assumption was that she was recording a Country music album. A few days ago, JL confirmed that assumption when she made her Country music debut with a live performance at a local Nashville bar. Last week we saw a HOT photo of grandmama Lynne Spears chillin’ out in a pool in Dallas, TX with her grandyoungin’s and today we get to see new photos of grandma Lynne and the kids enjoying a pool in New Orleans, LA. On this outing, Britney‘s little sister Jamie Lynn decided to go swimming as well … and as you can see from the photos below, she looks A LOT like Britney!

Maddie Briann Spears-Aldridge, the 3 year old daughter of Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge, is like THE biggest Britney Spears fan around. Not only was she in attendance at Brit‘s Milwaukee, WI stop of the Femme Fatale Tour but she was also in the hiz earlier this week at the Dallas, TX stop. This weekend, she was at Britney‘s concert — again — at the New Orleans, LA show last night. Hello, stalker much?

Britney Spears brought her Femme Fatale Tour to Milwakee, WI last night and shared a supercute photo on her official Twitter profile right before she hit the stage. Annoucing that she had a new “dance crew”, our dear Britney posted an adorable photo of her family — parents Lynne and Jamie Spears, little sister Jamie Lynn and niece Maddie Briann and her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. Back in March we learned that Britney Spears‘s younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears joined Twitter … and today we get to see what she and her family have been up to lately. Since JL started tweeting, she’s been posting photos here and there of and with her daughter Maddie Briann and her babydaddy Casey Aldridge. Today we get to see the CUTEST photo ever of the Spears-Adlridge family releasing a baby turtle back into the wild together.

Jamie Lynn Spears, the younger sister of pop queen Britney Spears and mother of daughter Maddie Briann, has joined Twitter … apparently. The account @jamielynnspears went online early last month but has NOT yet been verified by Twitter has an official profile. But, JL‘s official website jamielynnspears.com links to the Twitter account (as well as a Facebook account) and the photos posted on the account make it seem very likely that the profile is genuine.

Last Friday we saw a few photos of Britney Spears and her family enjoying some togetherness at a friend’s home in Kentwood, Louisiana on Thanksgiving and today we get to see a few more photos of the Spears clan maxin’ and relaxin’ over the weekend. Grandpappy Jamie Spears spent part of his weekend taking care of his grand young’ns Sean Preston (firstborn son of Britney Spears) and Maddie Brianne (only begotten daughter of Jamie Lynn Spears) … behold:

I understand that Grandpa Jamie happily cared for the kids while Britney and Jamie Lynn were off doing their own thing around town. Those plastic bags that Jamie is carrying in the last photo are filled with fried chicken so, yeah, the family ate well that night.
