Back in 2009, it was reported that the MGM film studio was going bankrupt and in an attempt to pay back their debt they were close to losing the movie rights to the James Bond film franchise (which is already 20+ films long). Because of the studio’s financial woes, there was no chance that a new film (a follow-up to the last Bond film, 2008′s Quantum of Solace) would be made … until now. The LA Times reports this week that MGM struck up a deal with Sony Pictures to move forward with the 23rd and 24th James Bond films … the first of which is now scheduled to hit theaters in late 2012. Bond lives, y’all!

Following in his wife’s fashion design footsteps, soccer star David Beckham is trying to branch out into fashion design by teaming up with designer James Bond to create a new line of sportswear for the Adidas Originals by Originals collection. Here is our first look at what Becks‘s design aesthetic looks like and some info about his new line of sportswear:

David Beckham has added designer to his résumé of model, muse and footballer. He collaborated with James Bond, owner of the Undefeated sneaker-freak boutiques, on a fall-winter men’s collection for Adidas Originals by Originals. Designers Jeremy Scott and Kazuki, who created spring collections for the label, have also reenlisted for fall. (Scott’s range includes women’s wear.) Beckham frequents Undefeated in Los Angeles and someone at Adidas, aware of their mutual admiration, proposed they collaborate. Their design approach was to update classic American sportswear with fashionable silhouettes and details. The apparel range features materials such as leather, cashmere and silk, while the footwear builds on iconic Adidas styles. The duo also developed accessories and thermal layering pieces. However, Beckham, who already has an athletic endorsement relationship with Adidas, has no plans to use his image or personal appearances to promote the new line.

I don’t particularly care for the baggy pants but I like the cardigan over the t-shirt look. I’d have to see more from this line of David Beckham designs but I think it could be cool. Something tells me by the sound of the materials used (cashmere, silk, etc.) that this new line of clothing ain’t gonna be cheap or even affordable. We all know what happened when Vicki B. tried to sell her overpriced denim jeans … no one bought them. Hopefully Becks will have more success with his line of clothes … ‘cuz Lord knows he could use the extra money. In the fine tradition of previous wax statue effigies of Amy Winehouse and Zack Efron, Madam Tussad’s Wax Museum in London, England has unveiled a new wax exhibit immortalizing the Daniel Craig version of superspy James Bond and the Judi Dench version of Bond boss M … here are a few pics of this new exhibit:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again … Daniel Craig is the hottest James Bond there ever ways. I’m sure a few Sean Connery fans out there might disagree but for me, Craig is the shizz. I just love this new wax statue of the man all done up in his best Bond finery. Dame Judi just rules the world. The end. Not only is she the only M worth discussing ever but some of her performances in other films have been legendary. When I think about the characters of Bond and M, I really see them in the likeness of the actors that portray them. Daniel Craig and Judi Dench are the living embodiment of these characters for me … and now they have been immortalized forever (well, mebbe not forever … wax isn’t that long-lasting) in this new wax exhibition. They both look great … but I think the M statue looks the more lifelike.

The latest 007 movie, Quantum Of Solace, is nearly upon us and so to get us prepared for the return of Bond, James Bond, here is the first trailer for the film, due in theaters on November 7:

UH OH! This time around it looks like Bond has got himself in a lick of seemingly insurmountable trubs … however will he get himself out of the mess he’s gotten himself into? Well, as long as Daniel Craig manages to stay sexy, stay badass and stay as unclothed as possible, I am deffo up for seeing this movie. Craig‘s Bond is the only Bond that has ever held any fascination for me. I loved Casino Royale, this one looks pretty good, too.
