Considering how sexy Johnny really is, I’m surprised this is the photo that People decided to use for their cover … they deffo could’ve found a sexier photo, don’t you think? As you may recall, People selected Hugh Jackman as the Sexiest Man Alive last year … but there are 109 other sexy men who made the cut this year along with Johnny. Not that it’s a very difficult task but People really does a great job of picking out the sexiest of the sexy. I mean, Jerry O’Connell in the speedo is proof positive ;) I’m also glad to see some of my faves — David Beckham, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds and the Glee guys — also made the cut. The copy reads: I’ve had really poor vision ever since I was a little kid — my mom first took me to the doctor because I was smacking into walls — and every time my prescription changed, we gave my old glasses to New Eyes. So when I started looking for a cause that I had a strong, visceral connection to, I thought of it and wanted to help bring awareness to its work. New Eyes sends donated prescription glasses to underdeveloped countries, and in the U.S. it distributes vouchers to patients for a free checkup and free glasses. There are so many people who have bad vision and don’t know it. I’ve seen kids who were on the verge of failing out of school who got glasses from New Eyes and their lives changed. It made me think, What if, when I was young, my parents hadn’t been able to afford my glasses? What would my life have been? Thankfully, my eyesight is something that I can take for granted. I want to try and help other people take theirs for granted as well.

This is so cool … there are so many needy charities out there and this is but another one. But, before Jake’s appearance in this ad I had no idea that New Eyes even existed. For their upcoming 40th season, “Sesame Street” welcomes a whole host of famous faces — Cameron Diaz, Adam Sandler, Eva Longoria, Ricky Gervais, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, Hugh Jackman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Matthew Fox and Michelle Obama — and one totally non-famous one — me! I recently had the privilege of visiting the world’s most famous address, but more on that closer to the Nov. 10 season premiere. I love it when Jake spends time with his family … we usually see him with his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal but it really looks like Jake and his dad are best buds. Dozens of celebrities have been immortalized with wax replicas at Madame Tussauds, but how many people can boast a Lego miniature action figure? Well, Jake Gyllenhaal for one. In honor of Disney’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Lego is releasing a set – including a mini-Jake figurine! – next year. The film will hit theaters May 28, 2010.

OMG … this is cute as hell. Little Lego Jake is about as cute as real life fleshy Jake is hot. This is absolutely a must own for me. Now that Reese Witherspoon has got her meat hooks into real Jake, I guess the rest of us will have to content ourselves with little Lego Jake … just make sure y’all play nice with him, tho … no naughty biz, ya hear?

It isn’t just us mere mortals getting soggy this rainy Monday morning, as these new shots from Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time prove. Getting a little bit carried away trying to cool down in the arid Middle Eastern sun, our Prince Dastan, played by the brooding Jake Gyllenhaal, along with the sultry Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) are shown here drenched from head to foot, and then escaping on horseback still soaking wet … Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, also stars Sir Ben Kingsley doing his best Evil Sultan as the coniving Nizam, as well as Toby ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’ Kebbel and Alfred ‘Doc Ock’ Molina. The film is due on our decidedly unsunny shores on May 28 2010.

Yummo!! Can I just say as much as I’m not too keen on waiting until May 2010 to see Jakey poo in action on the big screen in this movie, I am very much looking forward to all the promo materials that will be released between now and then. Jake Gyllenhaal wet? Oh hell yes, please and thank you. I wonder in what other states of undress we will see Jake as Prince Dastan next. I can hardly wait.

And what a night it was for Manny Ramírez … homeboy hit a 6th inning grand slam home-run that put the Dodgers over the top and led to their 6-2 victory over Cincinnati:

Manny Ramirez hit a tie-breaking pinch-hit grand slam in the sixth inning on his bobblehead night Wednesday, sending the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-2 victory over Cincinnati, their 12th consecutive at home against the Reds. Ramirez was kept out of the starting lineup for precautionary reasons with a sore left hand after being hit by a pitch a night earlier. Fans at the sold-out game chanted “Manny! Manny!” as they saw him in the dugout putting on his batting helmet. Ramirez sent the first pitch from reliever Nick Masset into the “Mannywood” section of lower left field seats for his 21st career grand slam, giving Los Angeles a 6-2 lead and putting the crowd into a frenzy. Teammates shoved Ramirez onto the top step of the dugout, where he waved his cap to acknowledge a standing ovation for his 11th homer of the season and his first career pinch-hit homer. It was Ramirez’s first homer into the “Mannywood” section, which was resurrected after his 50-game suspension for violating baseball’s drug rules ended on July 3. Ramirez’s electrifying moment was the only souvenir for 6,000 fans who went home without a bobblehead, which were limited to the first 50,000.

Damn … what a fun night!! Not only were attendees of last night’s game able to enjoy Jake Gyllenhaal’s presense at the game but they also got to bear witness to a Manny grand slam! AND, 50,000 of them got to take home a bobble-head! FUN!! I need to get my ass back to Dodger Stadium very soon … you never know when another fun night like last night might take place.
