Bad girl gone good?
First Look: Britney Spears, ‘If U Seek Amy’

Earlier this morning, at 11AM ET/8AM PT, Britney.com premiered the new music video for Britney Spears‘s third single off her latest album Circus. As you may recall, a few weeks ago we got our first look at photos of Britney on the set of her video for If U Seek Amy and right now we get to see the final product in full. Here are a few screencaps from the video:

This new video isn’t as involved as her previous videos for Circus and Womanizer. While those videos focused on multiple shot angles, routines and extraneous characters (like circus animals, acrobats and womanizers) this video focuses squarely on Britney, or her Amy character. The video starts initially with a faux news report that features a conservative-looking woman seemingly reporting on the “obscene spelling” that is showcased in the new Britney Spears song If U Seek Amy (which is based on a real FOX News report that came out a few weeks ago) and then cuts to a dark hotel-looking room with Britney on a bed with a bunch of people. She sexily dances with folks thruout the “hotel” and then does a quick change midway thru the video and emerges from a “perfect house” as a picture-perfect conservative-looking housewife (complete with husband, kids and apple pie). Simple, to the point. After the jump, check out the video in full and check it out for yourselves …

Plus, a look at rumored sketches of 'The Circus' Tour costumes
First Look: Britney Spears, ‘If U Seek Amy’ Single Artwork

BritneySpears.com has been updated with our first look at the cover artwork for Britney‘s new single If U Seek Amy … behold:

To be completely honest, I am not at all impressed. They clearly decided to use an already released promo image for the single artwork … which is fine, I suppose, but considering the stuff we’ve seen from the set of the If U Seek Amy music video, I think they could’ve at least shot a new photo for use as the single’s artwork. Meh. No one buys singles anymore anyways so I guess it’s a moot point.

Additionally, the fan site BreatheHeavy.com has been updated with a bunch of costume sketches that are RUMORED to be from Britney‘s upcoming The Circus starring Britney Spears Tour:

BreatheHeavy.com was just sent what appears to be Britney’s tour outfit sketches, autographed by the artist. Kick ass!

It’s unclear if these sketches are the real deal or if they are merely fan created images. The sketches aren’t really that spectacular but the costumes are so … I figured they were worth passing along just in case they turn out to be genuine. After the jump, check out a few more of these rumored sketches …

Britney Spears Backstage On The Set Of Her New Music Video

BritneySpears.com has just been updated with a whole slew of new photos of our dear Britney on the set of her new music video If U Seek Amy which was filmed last week. As you may recall, we already got to see a few photos of Britney on set while she filmed but these new photos take us inside and backstage … check ‘em out:

The makeup, the costumes, the sets… here’s your first look at what went on behind-the-scenes of the ‘If U Seek Amy’ video shoot. BritneySpears.com was on set of the ‘If You Seek Amy’ video shoot last week and Britney’s dancers Willie, Jay and Luke gave us an exclusive sneak peek at the choreography from the video. This video was shot in the bedroom where one of the super hot scenes from the music video was filmed. You’ll have to wait for the video to premiere to see the whole routine, but this should whet your appetite for now.

Head on over to her official site HERE to see a bunch of other photos including the vid clip mentioned above. Honestly, there ain’t anything too savory in this new batch of photos … but a tease is a tease. I’m really anxious to see the final result … Woot!

The happy homemaker
More Pics Of Britney Spears On The Set Of Her Music Video

Yesterday we got to see the first photos of Britney Spears on the Pacific Palisades, CA set of her new music video for the third single off her new album Circus. We heard a few weeks ago that If U Seek Amy would be her next single and we learned yesterday that she’s begun work on the music video. The treatment for the video, according to People magazine, has Britney in the role of a happy homemaker … as if the photos weren’t able to clue us in already. Here are a few more photos from the set of her vid:

Britney Spears is a mega pop star, a mom of two – and now a happy homemaker in her new video, sources tell PEOPLE. The singer, who plans to hit the road for her Circus tour next month, spent Tuesday filming the video for her upcoming single “If U Seek Amy,” in which she plays a sexy housewife dressed in blonde ’50s style wig, fitted pink top and white skirt. “The video begins with Britney coming outside her house to hand the paparazzi an apple pie that she baked,” says a source. “She acts like she wants to hook up. The video is very provocative.” In part of the video, Spears is accompanied by two adorable perfectly-groomed children and a straight-laced man wearing khakis and a sweater over his shoulders. But a source says there are also lots of dancers “dressed in skimpy outfits in metallic color” and revealing costumes for Spears included in the shoot. According to several sources, Spears was very professional and upbeat on the set. “She was like the old Britney at the shoot. She was engaged and excited the whole day and seemed like her old self,” says a source.

Adds X17:

The video was shot at a $4 million traditional home near the Palisades bluffs, and the conservative neighborhood seemed a bit surprised to have the pop princess shoot what is expected to be her most raunchy video to date in their community! However, it seems like everyone involved had a blast, and we can expect a super sexy video very soon! Our on set source tells us: “Britney looked like she was having a blast. Earlier in the day between takes, she was playing this mind reading game with her two boys and they LOVED it. After they left, she was a lot quieter. Around the end of the shoot, she seemd to be getting a little anxious for some reason. She probably was ready to go home.” The front door of the house had a red heart reading ‘I Love You’ in large letters, and our source tells us that for this part of the video (which was the first day of a 2-3 day shoot) Brit plays the role of a “suburban housewife”! We’re picturing Britney with an apron and a pie in her hands, but our source assures us that we can look forward to “a much sexier, risque Britney” in the final video. Filming has wrapped at that location, and there was only one truck cleaning up the remaining props earlier this morning, so we can’t wait to hear about the rest of the shoot!

It sounds like Brit Brit is really going all out, as usual, for this video. I’m having a hard time imaging how the sweet homemaker scenes will pair with the sexier dance scenes that are also said to be included in the video. I’m sure it’ll all make sense in the end … I can’t wait to see it.

Kickin' it old skool
First Look: Britney Spears On The Set Of ‘If U Seek Amy’

Earlier today we learned that Britney Spears is hard at work this week on the set of her new music video, presumably for the single If U Seek Amy, and now we get our first look at Britney on the set of that music video:

It looks as if Brit Brit dusted off the 1950′s wig that she used in that Pepsi commercial she did a few years ago:

You can also see that there are children in the video (presumably her own) and her daughter is dressed in her Baby … One More Time music video costume. HMMM. I can’t wait to see the final product. In the meantime, let’s look back that Pepsi commercial that featured Britney singing soda pop jingles from different eras of Pepsi:

I don’t necessarily think that Britney‘s new video will be quite like her 1958 character in this Joy of Pepsi commercial but at least it gives us a good feel for what she looks like in that role. What do y’all think … will this video be better than Womanizer and/or Circus?

Artistic censorship?
Britney Spears Re-records ‘If U Seek Amy’ For Radio Play

Bowing to pressure from radio station programmers here in the US, it is being reported that Britney Spears has been forced to re-record her song If You Seek Amy to make it less controversial for radio play. When sung, the line All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy sounds like she is saying All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to F.U.C.K. me … which censors are none too pleased about. As a result, Brit reportedly re-recorded the song to leave the K off of the word seek:

Britney Spears has reportedly been forced to rerecord her forthcoming single after radio stations threatened to ban it from play. The controversial ‘If U Seek Amy’, set to be the third single from her Circus LP, contains the chorus “All of the boys and all of the girls are beggin’ to, If You Seek Amy”, which, when sung quickly, sounds like “F.U.C.K me”. Last week, several US radio stations threatened to boycott the song after deeming the lyrics to be too offensive for air. According to The Sun, Spears has since returned to the studio to rerecord the track, removing the “k” from the end of “seek” and renaming the song ‘If U See Amy’. Britney releases her new single ‘Circus’ in the UK on February 18.

Boo! This is kinda ridiculous. While I can appreciate that radio censors are trying to “protect” young listeners from hearing profanity on the radio, I feel it is a but over-the-top to censor the spelling of bad words. If she were actually saying the word FUCK then I can understand the need to censor … but if we’ve decided that we need to censor the spelling of words, then that’s a bit too much of an infringement of free speech I think. I’m not surprised that Britney is deciding to comply with this censorship … but I, for one, think it takes things a bit too far.
