Say hello to Anita Appleby
First Look: Jennifer Lopez On ‘How I Met Your Mother’

A couple of weeks ago, Neil Patrick Harris shared a personal photo on Twitter of Jennifer Lopez on the set of his CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother and today we get to see the first official promo still from that episode. As you can see from the following photo, J. Lo‘s character Anita Appleby is puttin’ the serious moves on NPH‘s character Barney Stinson:

The official first look of “How I Met Your Mother” episode that reveals how Jennifer Lopez translates to the sitcom has been released. In the new still, Lopez’s Anita Appleby is in the position to seduce Neil Patrick Harris’ Barney. According to earlier reports, Anita is a self-help guru who helps Robin in taming the womanizer. Anita makes it her mission to “break” Barney. There is no date yet for the episode but it will be within the March run … “How I Met Your Mother” is taking a break for the Winter Olympics coverage but will be back on March 1 with Carrie Underwood as guest.

J. Lo looks good, y’all. Her booty is bangin’ and Barney looks like putty in Anita‘s hands. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that these might might actually do the do … er, well, on the show that is ;) HIMYM is pulling out all the stops in these upcoming eps … be on the look out for a bunch of great guest stars. Which of the show’s upcoming guests are you most excited to see?

How I Met Your Madre
When Neil Patrick Harris Met Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez paid a visit to the set of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother yesterday to film a guest appearance on the show … so naturally, HIMYM star Neil Patrick Harris just had to share a photo with J. Lo with all of his followers on Twitter:

Jennifer Lopez was really great – hot, cool, and funny. And well prepared! She gave me a few pointers. Here’s one:

Hahahaha … cute pic. While I’m sure NPH‘s character Barney was happy to have Jennifer Lopez all up on him for the show, NPH himself was prolly all giddy for an entirely different reason to be chillin’ with La Diva Latina. As far as fierce beyotches go, these two make a nice pair!

How I Met Your Musical

Yesterday we bid adieu to Isaac who was staying with us for a few days and immediately got down to cleaning up the place and running a few errands. We have been dangerously low on supplies so I had to run out to Target to load up on essentials. I did manage to make it home in time to see the heavily-hyped 100th episode of How I Met Your Mother, which was billed as a “musical episode”. In fact, it was just a regular ep with a musical number in it … here are a few screencaps:

All in all, the ep was good but I was totally let down it wasn’t a full musical episode. Meh. I enjoyed irregardless. After the jump, in case you missed it or just want to see it again, you can watch the musical number that was performed on How I Met Your Mother last night …

'Mother' turns 100
The Paley Center For Media Celebrates ‘How I Met Your Mother’

The stars of the hit CBS series How I Met Your Mother were on hand at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, CA for an event honoring the show’s milestone 100th episode. Speaking to Extra! TV on the red carpet, Alyson Hannigan talked a bit about some of the famous guest stars that have appeared on HIMYM and revealed who she would like to see guest on the show in the future:

Country superstar Carrie Underwood will stop by as guest star on “How I Met Your Mother” and star Alyson Hannigan tells “Extra” she’s happy to be working with Carrie but she would also like to see Jennifer Aniston on the show! “I’m going to put that out there!” she smiled. Underwood’s name will be added to the list of celebs who have guest-starred, including Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian and Wayne Brady. Co-star Cobie Smulders wouldn’t mind sharing a scene with another megastar. “If Meryl’s free, that’d be nice,” Smulders, 27, joked. She continued, “I love having guest stars, but I love when they cast people who are up-and-coming and need a break.” “The Twilight Saga” star Rachelle Lefevre appeared in an episode where she fell for Barney (played by Neil Patrick Harris) before landing the role of evil vampire Victoria. “We like the people who come on the show and really play on the show,” Harris explained. The suited-up stud also says he’s “excited” to have Underwood on board, but “it’s hard to top the Victoria Secret supermodels for Barney because he had a whole episode with them and Heidi Klum.” On Thursday, “How I Met Your Mother” reached a sitcom milestone and celebrated its 100th episode at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills. Hannigan, who picked up a People’s Choice Award for her role, confessed, “I’m so lucky to be on two shows that have reach a hundred episodes.” The glowing actress, 35, also topped over 100 episodes with “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

Firstly, congratulations to the cast and crew of How I Met Your Mother on reaching their 100th episode. The true test of a good show is lasting long enough to make it to 100 eps. Secondly, how great do Alyson and Cobie Smulders look in these photos?! These ladies always bring the hotness when they show up on the red carpet. The dudes, save for Neil Patrick Harris and Aly‘s hubby Alexis Denisof, were lookin’ a bit sloppy … they should look to NPH for style and grooming tips, methinks. And while I confess that I am not a regular watcher of HIMYM, I am VERY excited for the 100th ep which will air on Monday Jan 11 because it will be a MUSICAL EPISODE! I will deffo be tuning in, you should too!!

"It almost felt like an old-school MGM musical to me." - NPH
First Look: ‘How I Met Your Mother’ – The Musical Episode

USA Today is giving us our first look at the upcoming 100th episode of the CBS hit TV series How I Met Your Mother … and it just so happens that said 100th episode will be musical in nature. Ever since Buffy the Vampire Slayer turned the TV world on its ear with its own musical episode (the fantastic Once More With Feeling …), other shows have tried to jump on the musical episode bandwagon and create special eps of their own. Here is a promo photo released by CBS of the HIMYM musical ep and some deets about what will happen during that episode:

For its 100th episode Jan. 11 (8 ET/PT), the CBS comedy’s cast will perform a grand musical number featuring 65 dancers and a 50-person orchestra. “It almost felt like an old-school MGM musical to me. It was a lot of cast and crew grouping together to make it special,” says Neil Patrick Harris, who plays the womanizing Barney. Harris, joined by fellow cast members Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders, is at the center of the 2½-minute song-and-dance piece: Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit. USA TODAY has a first look at the extravaganza, which was filmed over two days on the Fox studio lot’s New York Street. HIMYM executive producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas wrote the words and music, then called on the talents of composer John Swihart and choreographer Zach Woodlee (Glee). Bays and Thomas have featured musical elements, such as the Robin Sparkles ’80s teen pop numbers, in episodes of HIMYM, which has a new episode Monday at 8. “The way we viewed it was our 100th episode would end with something that felt like a party, like an on-air party for fans, and create a jubilant celebration moment at the end of the show,” Thomas says. “It feels like a crazy movie fantasyland.” Harris, who has hosted the Tonys and Emmys, is happy Thomas and Bays wrote the song. “I’m glad we didn’t source it out. It still has the same sense of humor and sort of odd, obscure comedic ring to it.” In the episode, “Girls vs. Suits,” the ever-business-suited Barney has the chance to date a hot bartender, but there’s a catch: She disdains men in suits. Thomas describes the ensuing musical extravaganza as “kind of a love song to The Suit, capital T, capital S.” The episode will also reveal more, Thomas says, about the “mother” — Ted’s (Radnor) eventual wife — in the show’s title. “It’s the closest we’ve seen Ted get to answering the question: ‘Who is the mother?’ ”

Interestingly enough, Alyson Hannigan will have appeared in both the BtVS musical ep and this new HIMYM musical ep and ironically, she hates to sing!! I have it on very good authority that fans of HIMYM and curious folks who tune in will be VERY entertained by the ep. After the jump, check out one more promo pic from this musical ep of How I Met Your Mother featuring everyone’s favorite womanizer played by Neil Patrick Harris, Barney Stinson

The Best of 2008
The Cast Of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Does ‘TV Guide’ & ‘Entertainment Weekly’

The entire cast of the hit CBS show How I Met Your Mother is featured on the cover of the new issue of TV Guide magazine …

… but even cooler than that, the cast is featured in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly in a fun new photoshoot where they recreate images that reflect the Best that 2008 had to offer. Here are pics of the cast doing the Olympics, the Jonas Brothers and Indiana Jones:

THE OLYMPICS — The men lost a lot of hair to play the U.S. 4x200m relay team; Harris (far right) even cajoled Segel (far left) into shaving his
armpits. ”The guys sounded like they didn’t think it was going to grow back,” laughs Smulders. ”Dude. Trust me. It grows back.
I wish it didn’t. It does. You’re gonna be fine.”

JONAS BROTHERS — ”I don’t often wear skinny jeans. It’s not my thing.
But I heroically squeezed into some,” says Radnor. Harris worked to internalize his character deeply, as well: ”I got to be the straight-ironed guy. Not the curly. I don’t know their names…Alvin? Theodore?”

INDIANA JONES — Smulders (left) didn’t see Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (she says the key to Cate Blanchett was ”just look like a badass”), while Harris studied Indy hard: ”It’s sort of a quarter-squint. The lips go down,
but there’s a hint of a smile. But he’s not amused, because he’s always got other things in mind.”

OMG! Is this not the most brilliant thing you’ve ever seen? Not only is it an amazing idea but the recreations are freakin’ hilarious!! After the jump, check out the HIMYM cast doing the Sex and the City Movie and the Vice Presidential debate …

US vs. THEM
First Look: Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt On ‘How I Met Your Mother’

US Weekly has our first look at the upcoming cameo that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, collectively known as Speidi, will be making on an episode of the hit CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. The ep, slated to air on January 12, will feature Speidi on the cover of a fictional weekly tabloid magazine called Them before they actually come to life on the show. Here is a pic of HIMYM star Jason Segal (who plays Marshall) with his copy of Them magazine featuring Speidi on the cover:

Usmagazine.com has your first look at newlyweds Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. In the episode (airing Jan. 12), the two appear on the cover of a magazine — titled Them Weekly — and eventually come to life. They tease Marshall (Jason Segel) as he desperately searches for a peaceful place to read the magazine while at the office. Their episode also features newly engaged Kendra Wilkinson and Kim Kardashian. Said Kardashian, “I really had a great time and hope this opens up other opportunities for me in the acting world.”

Um … if this cameo ep leads to “other opportunities” for Kim Kardashian to act then I will call for an immediate removal of this show from the television airwaves — period. But I digress … you gotta love that the coverstory headline on this copy of Them magazine reads “Heidi & Spencer: Hey everybody, we’re on How I Met Your Mother”. Talk about your art blending into reality and vice versa. While I sincerely doubt that these cameos will be as well-received as, say, Britney Spears‘s cameo appearances on the show earlier this year were you gotta commend HIMYM for keeping their fingers on the pulse of what’s hot. Like it or not, these reality TV stars are all the rage these days … there’s some bit of genius in interjecting some of their appeal into a traditional sitcom. What do y’all think … are y’all looking forward to seeing these folks on How I Met Your Mother?

On last night's ep of 'How I Met Your Mother'
Neil Patrick Harris Is ‘The Naked Man’

Okay, I must confess … I do not watch How I Met Your Mother on CBS despite the fact that one of my fave TV actresses (Alyson Hannigan) and one of my fave out actors (Neil Patrick Harris) star on the show. It’s even more shameful for me that I don’t watch the show since it was the sitcom that allowed our dear Britney Spears to guest star twice this year, helping the girl get her professional life back on track. I keep saying to myself, You’ll catch up with the show on DVD — there’s time. After hearing about and seeing a few screencaps from last night’s ep, I think it’s time that I start catching up and watching the show. Last night’s ep of HIMYM was titled The Naked Man and in it, NPH‘s überstraight character Barney Stinson performed a few scenes completely nekkid … with only a few perfectly placed grooming product bottles to cover up his naughty bits:

I gotta say … Neil Patrick looks pretty damn good all nekkid and stuff. Click HERE to read a recap of last night’s ep written by someone who watches the show and click HERE to watch the entire episode online at CBS.com (which I think will only work for viewers in the US). After the jump, check out a few more screencaps of Neil Patrick Harris in all of his glory — as allowed by US network television decency standards …
