Congratulations are in order for the CBS daytime drama series The Bold and the Beautiful who was awarded this week with the Guinness World Record for being the Most Popular Daytime TV Soap – Current. Taking into consideration how many continents the soap opera is aired and the massive ratings numbers, B&B has been officially classified as THE most popular soap in the world right now. Here are a few photos from the Guinness World Record certification ceremony that was held at CBS Studios here in LA, CA yesterday:

As a fan of the show, I knew that B&B was wildly popular in other parts of the world but I had no idea that it was quite this popular. Something about The Bold and the Beautiful strikes a cord with the world audience … much like Baywatch did in the 90′s. As you may know, Baywatch as THE most popular show in the world for many years. Brendan Fraser, who looked like he was missing a few dozen hairplugs, was on hand with some of his co-stars and friends for the Hollywood premiere of his new movie The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor (aka The Mummy III) at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal City, CA yesterday. Here are a few pics from the red carpet:

I ain’t gonna lie … I love the Mummy movies. All the hairplugs notwithstanding, I generally enjoy this movie franchise … well, except for that stupid Scorpion King movie starring The Rock. The actual Mummy movies are fun — and this one looks cute, too. I thought for sure the franchise was dead since all the Egyptian stuff had been done to death … but I think it’s brills that they moved the action to China. Hello, there are other Mummies out there. I’m totes on board for this new movie … I have to check it out.

Hollywood and Highland was overrun by the brightest and best of Daytime television last night as the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards took center stage (in the sweltering heat) at the Kodak Theater here in Hollywood, CA. A plethora of Daytime stars took to the red carpet last night but, to be honest, I am only really interested in the folks who appear on my fave Daytime soaps The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Here are a few folks from both shows as they made their way down the red carpet last night:

Despite nominations in many of the major categories, only 2 folks from Y&R took home Daytime Emmys last night (Kristoff St. John for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and Jeanne Cooper for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series) … but I suppose much congrats should go out to the other folks who did win awards, including Ellen DeGeneres and Tyra Banks among others …
