Hayden Panettiere & Milo Ventimiglia Are Dunzo!

It's curtains for HaLo
Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

Sad news to pass along to all y’all HaLo fans … US Weekly is reporting that Heroes co-stars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia have decided to end their romantic involvement with one another. They’re dunzo, y’all!

Heroes costars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia have called it quits, Usmagazine.com has learned. “It was a lifestyle conflict,” a source close to the couple tells Us, adding that the split happened within the last week. “They were in very different places.” Adds the insider, “They are still on friendly terms. There are no hard feelings.” The source tells Us that Panettiere, 19, “is young. She likes to go out in the Hollywood scene and that’s not his style.” Ventimiglia, 31, “has been concentrating on work on his production company [Divide Pictures],” the source adds. The two, who began dating in 2008, had been an open secret for months – in part because of their 12-year age gap.

Boo! This is sad news … I really thought that HaLo really made a supercute couple. Despite the age difference, they always looked so happy to be with one another … I’m bummed they’re dunzo. I wonder if that rumor that Hayden was spied making out with Jesse McCartney had anything to do with the break-up. I hope that the make-out session happened after the couple decided to call it quits — and wasn’t the cause of the split. I’m glad to know that the pair have decided to remain friends. It’s still a bit sad that they couldn’t make it work :(

Hayden Panettiere & Milo Ventimiglia Do Bora Bora

'Heroes' in Paradise
Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

Here are a few supercute pics of lovebirds Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia spending a little vacation time together on the romantic isle getaway of Bora Bora in French Polynesia this week:

Good looking, toned and talented – Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia looked every inch the superhero couple as they walked hand in hand along the beach. The pair, who both star in the science fiction drama Heroes, are enjoying a romantic break on the French Polynesian island of Bora Bora. Despite dating for more than a year, it is rare for the couple to be spotted together in public. It emerged the pair, who have a 12-year age gap between them, were dating in January last year. Rumours first circulated when they were seen smooching at an Emmys party in September 2007 and by the end of the year they were regularly seen out together at showbiz events. Milo, 31, had previously denied rumours when asked about reports of a possible romance with the 18-year-old actress. He said: “She and I are close friends. It’s only natural that people are going to couple us together.” The couple met on the set of superhero drama Heroes and they enjoy a close relationship on as well as off screen.

Nice to see that the couple are still happily attached. Because we don’t see them out and about very often it’s hard to tell how things are going (we last saw the pair in public together back before Halloween). I’d say these new pics of the couple on holiday together is a very good sign that things are coming along swimmingly with the couple. I like them together … they make a nice match. Here’s hoping that 2009 will be a very good one for HaLo … as it stands, it looks like they’ve got the New Year off to a great start!

Hayden Panettiere Shops Because She Cares

The spirit of giving
Monday, December 15th, 2008

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere was on hand for a very cool in-store event in San Gabriel, CA over the weekend where she, in her capacity as Candie’s spokesmodel, went Xmas shopping with a few lucky girls from the Children’s Hospital in a charity promo event at a Kohl’s department store. Here are a few pics from this weekend’s event:

Except for the absolutely frightening Mrs. Claus above, the event looked like it was a lot of fun. I’m sure the girls from the hospital really enjoyed their shopping spree with Hayden. I really love how big companies and celebs themselves really get into the spirit of giving around the holidays. I guess we all get a little more generous around this time of the year … but I think it’s a really cool thing when celebs participate in events like this. Kudos and love goes out to Hayden, Candie’s and Kohl’s for organizing such a fun event. It’s seeing events like these that really help restore my faith in the humanity of celebs. Sure, Hayden’s not saving the world but I’m sure this Xmas will be an extra special one for these girls. Well done!

Celebs Voted!

They're just like us!
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Woot! A new day has dawned here in America … and the World … and while there is still much to celebrate, there is also much work to get done in the aftermath. It’s also time to get back to the goss ;) Yesterday I created a photo album of friends and Pink readers proudly showing off the I Voted stickers (or handmade signs) that they were given after they voted yesterday and today we get to see a whole bunch of photos of celebs showing off their I Voted stickers, too. Americans came out in record numbers to vote yesterday and those numbers included celebs … here are a few of them who exercised their right to vote yesterday:

Depending on where the celebs live, these photos were snapped in NYC and here in LA. Here is another batch of celebs who came out to vote yesterday:

I’m pretty sure that some of these celebs were voting for President for the first time in their lives and it seems pretty safe to assume that the lion’s share of them added to President-elect Barack Obama’s historic win.

I’ve been getting emails and messages from around the World of folks cheering on Obama’s victory as news of his election as the 44th President of the United States of America made headlines around the world. Here are a few of the UK papers splashing the news across their covers:

David tells me that newsstands all over NYC are selling out of copies of The New York Times, etc. so I would suggest that y’all snap up your local newspapers — wherever in the country you are — and put them away for posterity. I’m just sayin’ ;)

Madonna was in concert in San Diego, CA last night and was on stage when news of Obama’s win was announced … she happily broke the news to her assembled audience and talked a little bit about the momentous nature of the win while on stage. After the jump, check out video of her impromptu speech …

Hayden Panettiere Offers Whales A Helping Hand

Starlet appears at a 'Save the Whales' rally in Washington DC
Monday, October 27th, 2008

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere made her way to our nation’s capital this weekend to participate in a Save the Whales Again rally orchestrated by The Whaleman Foundation and The Animal Welfare Institute. Hayden led a group of t-shirted rally participants in an aerial art event that had rally-goers form the shape of a huge pilot whale with the word VOTE underneath. Here are a few pics from this weekend’s rally and some info from the event’s press release:

Actress Hayden Panettiere, currently starring on the hit NBC series “Heroes,” [led] hundreds of participants in an aerial art event and rally to form a giant human pilot whale beside the message “VOTE,” in front of the U.S. Capitol building this Sunday, October 26 at 12:30pm. The pilot whale — of which Hayden will be the eye — symbolizes the tens of thousands of whales and dolphins killed each year by Japanese fishermen. The event commemorates the one-year anniversary of Hayden’s actions in Taiji, Japan, where she paddled out with protestors on surfboards to protect a pod of pilot whales who had been captured by fishermen for slaughter and for sale to aquariums. Hayden is passionate about protecting whales and dolphins. As a spokesperson for the Save the Whales Again! campaign, she has made repeated calls for the Bush administration to defend whales at the International Whaling Commission (IWC) and take action against the whaling countries of Japan, Norway, and Iceland for their persistence in killing whales for commercial gain. “I turned 18 last year and I’m going to make my first vote count,” says Hayden. “I am looking forward to my visit to Washington to talk to those who will be voting in the upcoming election, to stress the importance of knowing where the candidates stand on the issues that are most important to them, and to be sure that come November 4th, they will actually go out and vote to ensure that their voices are heard.” The U.S. has historically been a world leader in protecting whales, but during the Bush administration, U.S. leadership on whale issues has significantly declined. Whales and dolphins face more threats today than ever before from climate change, ship strikes, entanglement in nets, overfishing, and chemical and noise pollution; yet Japan, Norway and Iceland continue to kill them in increasing numbers. William Hogarth, Ph.D., appointed by President Bush to head the U.S. delegation to the IWC, is now using his position as IWC Chairperson to host a series of closed-door meetings to negotiate a deal that could allow for an IWC-sanctioned resumption of commercial whaling. “The fact the U.S. is leading this process is outrageous!” said Jeff Pantukhoff, president and founder of The Whaleman Foundation and executive director of the Save the Whales Again! campaign. “Recent polls show that over 75 percent of registered voters oppose whaling, and over two-thirds want our government to do something about it; yet to this point, the Bush administration has done little to stop the increasing slaughter and is now actively leading efforts that could result in a legalized return to commercial whaling” … Save the Whales Again! is a campaign of The Whaleman Foundation and the Animal Welfare Institute. The Whaleman Foundation is a public non-profit oceanic research, conservation and production organization dedicated to preserving and protecting dolphins, whales and their habitats. The Washington D.C.-based Animal Welfare Institute began the Save the Whales campaign of the 1970s and 1980s and was founded in 1951 to reduce the sum total of pain and fear inflicted on animals by humans. Save the Whales Again! does not endorse a particular 2008 presidential candidate.

You gotta love that Hayden, who has just turned old enough to vote, is so passionately interested in working for the causes that she really believes in. This is not the first time that Hayden has put herself on the line for the whales. She faced arrest in Japan late last year after participating in a protest to try and stop whale hunting there. And, let’s not forget, that she was also part of the Declare Yourself campaign to urge young people to get registered and vote in the upcoming election. Perhaps the lass has a political career in her future once she’s done being a Hollywood “It” Girl? Hey, if Ronald Reagan can go from actor to President, why can’t Hayden?

Hayden Panettiere & Milo Ventimiglia Still Goin’ Strong

HaLo surfaces for the first time in weeks
Monday, October 20th, 2008

It has been quite some time since we last saw couple Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia out and about in public which led some folks to believe they might have called it quits. A couple of weeks ago, Hayden surfaced with a box full of cupcakes and I wondered aloud if she might’ve been picking up the goodies to share with her man (he was nowhere in sight). It was actually back in early August that the pair were last seen together here on the blog when they were snapped filming scenes for the new season of their hit NBC show Heroes here in SoCal. But finally, HaLo has surfaced once again … and altho there ain’t all that much amorousness goin’ on in these new pics of the couple snapped in Hollywood, CA this weekend, the fact that they are out together looks pretty good to me:

I am happy to see that HaLo are still happily attached … I, too, was starting to get worried that there may have been something amiss in their romance. You may recall that the couple were spotted all over town together back when they were keeping their relationship a secret … then the sightings tapered off and stopped completely after they came clean about the romanticness of their involvement earlier this year. In any event, I’m glad to see these two out and about in public again. With all the break-ups going on in Hollywood these days, I’m not sure my frail heart could take another case of dunzoness.

Hayden Panettiere <3s Cupcakes

Or is she picking up sweets for her sweet?
Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere was spotted picking up a few sweet treats from Yummy Cupcakes in Burbank, CA earlier today … I wonder if she’s got plans to share them with someone special? Mebbe her paramour Milo Ventimiglia?

HaLo haven’t really been seen out on the town together very much lately, I hope everything is OK. I realize that Hayden may be a bit preoccupied with her father’s legal woes but I hope that everything is cool with the Heroes lurvers. Incidentally, a few folks have asked if I am no longer a fan of the show since I no longer post recaps of Heroes on the blog. I am still very much a fan of the show and have been watching it since the season premiere but I just don’t have the time to do the recaps anymore. There is an awful lot going on the show this season, it’s very exciting and very cool … I’d hate to half-ass it, so I’m just watching and enjoying the show like everyone else. Last night’s ep was really freaking good … happy homemaker Sylar was prolly the scariest incarnation of him that I’ve ever seen ;) But I digress, to get back on point … here’s hoping that everything is still A-OK with Hayden and Milo … and here’s hoping that they are able to enjoy these delicious cupcakes together :)
