British journalist and author Greg Palast has posted an interesting article on his official website this week that claims to reveal the alternate ending that author J.K. Rowling wrote for the final Harry Potter novel The Deathly Hallows. According to Palast, he and Rowling are friendly enough that she revealed to him in confidence the other ending she came up with for the final book. He claims that she divulged this other ending to him after he expressed to her his disappointment with the ending that was published in the book (he felt the published ending was too influenced by the eventual movie to follow). While Palast confesses he never saw the typed, hardcopy of this other ending, he claims that he remembers almost precisely what she told him … and now shares it with the world all these years later. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 — the absolute FINAL Harry Potter film — opened in theaters here in the US last night at midnight and I was among the lucky folks were able to see it as soon as it opened nationwide. Let me just say this right off the bat … this final Harry Potter film does not disappoint. You want an epic ending, you get an epic ending. You want scenes that will make you cry your eyes out? You got it. You want the most satisfying end possible to a film franchise that has entertained and delighted audiences for a decade? Look no further … Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 delivers in spades.

Last night, Darion and I went to a double feature of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2 (review forthcoming) and we had THE BEST TIME EVER. Despite the fact that we were both kinda bummed that we were about to bear witness to the LAST Harry Potter film, we were happy to be doing so together. D and I spent some of our time reminiscing about the HP films over the years. My advice for those of you who are excited for/dreading the end of Harry Potter, see the movie with a best friend.

I’ve been saying it all week … well, all year actually … but the time has come … the final Harry Potter film will be released at midnight tonight and it’s pretty much all I can think about today. As I mentioned earlier, Darion and I will be seeing Parts 1 & 2 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows starting at 9PM tonight and we’ve been txting back and forth all day making plans. I’m not sure what you’ll be doing tonight but I’ll be cheering then bawling my eyes out — one last time — with Harry Potter and the gang.

That’s it … tonight’s the night … the world of Harry Potter comes to a FINAL end tonight at midnight when Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows – Part 2 opens in theaters here in the US. The day that Potter fans have been excited about/dreading has finally arrived. To celebrate the final Harry Potter film, presented in 3D, AMC Theaters are giving away special Harry Potter-style 3D glasses for the first showings of the film. If you are among the lucky people to see the film first tonight, then you’ll be going home with a pair of these special glasses as a memento.

We are mere DAYS away from the very, very FINAL end of the Harry Potter film franchise and to promote the release of The Deathly Hallows – Part 2 next week and to celebrate, Warner Bros. has released a video featurette focused on the good vs. evil battle between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. The clip features new scenes from The Deathly Hallows as well as interviews from the cast. The world of Harry Potter will enjoy it’s FINAL world premiere event in London, England today and, sadly, it looks like it may do so without its main star Daniel Radcliffe. DanRad is currently starring in the Broadway musical How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying in NYC and was not in attendance at the London photocall last night. It’s feasible that he may still fly in for the event (and let an understudy perform the show tonight) but even if not, the world premiere of The Deathly Hallows will not be without stars. Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Finnes and other HP stars will be in attendance today … click below to see a couple of cute group photos from the photocall earlier today.

And so … the end has finally come … the very last movie trailer to ever be released for Harry Potter is here. With under a month to go before It All Ends with the final Harry Potter film, The Deathly Hallows – Part 2, Warner Bros. released yesterday the absolute LAST Harry Potter movie trailer. This new trailer is by far the darkest HP trailer of all but it is absolutely superb. I, literally, got chills and goosebumps just from this trailer alone … I absolutely know that I will be a complete MESS when this movie is released on July 15. Earlier this week we saw a new poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 that featured Harry and his BFFs Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
