While David and I spent part of our weekend IN enjoying some ice cream, Nicole Richie and her ADORABLE daughter Harlow Winter Kate spent part of their weekend OUT on an ice cream date. Nicole and Harlow were spotted at a local ice cream shop here in SoCal lookin’ as cute as can be. Check out the photos below.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Nicole Richie out and about with her beautiful children so I figured it was time for an update. Nicole and her kiddies Harlow Winter Kate and Sparrow James Midnight stepped out in SoCal this week lookin’ about as matchy-matchy as they could be. The color palette for their outfits was black … and, boy, does this family know how to rock it right!

Yesterday we got to see a supercute tour video that mama Nicole Richie put together of her family on the road with daddy Joel Madden‘s band Good Charlotte. Today we get to see new photos of Nic and her kiddies Harlow Winter Kate and Sparrow James Midnight as they ventured out onto the streets of SoCal lookin’ about as cool as can be. Altho Harlow and Sparrow are still wee little tykes, it’s very clear that they are among the coolest celebrity kids in Hollywood.

This Spring, Nicole Richie and her children Harlow Winter Kate and Sparrow James Midnight joined hubby/father Joel Madden and his band Good Charlotte on their North American Tour. Along the way, Nicole snapped some photos and video of their tour adventures together and she put together a very cool, very sweet home video of some on-stage and back-stage footage. This tour was a family affair for the Richie-Maddens, some of which you can share in below.

Nicole Richie took her adorable young children Harlow Winter Kate and Sparrow James Midnight for a fun playdate at the park this past Sunday afternoon and from the looks on the little ones’ faces, they had a blast. Nicole herself seemed to sit out for most of the fun but it is plainly clear that she, too, had the time of her life watching her little ones play in the sun.

Altho Sparrow James Midnight, the youngest child of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, doesn’t turn 1 year old until this coming Thursday September 9 his parents decided to celebrate his birthday early this past weekend with about 50 of Sparrow‘s closest friends. Here are a few photos of Sparrow and his big sister Harlow Winter Kate running a few errands with their nanny early in the day Saturday before they returned home for the big birthday celebration:

Nicole Richie may have parted from her past party girl ways, but she can still throw a good bash – especially if she’s celebrating her son’s first birthday. Richie, along with fiancé Joel Madden and big sis Harlow, 2 ½, held a party for Sparrow Saturday. He turns 1 on Sept. 9. About 50 guests, including actress Ellen Pompeo and her daughter Stella Luna, 11 months, and Sparrow’s uncle Benji Madden, gathered in the backyard of the family’s Hollywood Hills home and noshed on birthday cake. The backyard was decorated with red, green, orange and purple “Happy Birthday” balloons for the occasion. “Nicole was keeping the party simple to not overwhelm Sparrow,” a source at the party tells PEOPLE. “Everyone seemed to have a great time.”

LMAOOOOO! I’m so glad that Nicole decided to keep the party “simple” at only 50 guests because more party attendees would SURELY overwhelm little Sparrow ;) In any event, it’s kinda crazy to think that Nic/Joel‘s second child is already turning 1 … hello, that baby was just born, like, yesterday! It sounds like everyone had a fun time over the weekend … let’s send all our Birthday Lurve to little Sparrow on his big day!

Joel Madden, frontman for his band Good Charlotte and avid Twitter user, is pretty fond of sharing his personal photos on his official Twitter account and this weekend some of those photos have been culled together by People magazine. Here are some of the photos that Joel has shared with us all along with commentary tweets that he wrote for each photo:

“So a few weeks ago we were in PHILLY. One place I consider a home away from home,” Waldorf, Md., native Joel Madden Tweeted about a recent trip back East with Nicole Richie. “We saw the Phillies/O’s game. The O’s won of course….Still @nicolerichie had to root for against me!”

While in Philadelphia, the couple took daughter Harlow to the city’s 135-year-old zoo, the first in America. “Harlow really enjoyed the Hippos. Nicole somehow found a way convince Harlow that I am a gorilla,” Madden lamented.

Madden’s twin Benji finds himself the subject of Richie’s teasing, like when she posted THIS photo of the Good Charlotte guitarist. “Just walked in on @benjaminmadden posing like this in front of my 2 dogs. Ummmmmmmm…..”

Aww … love these photos! Joel Madden (as well as his brothers Josh and Benji) are the realest guys you will ever meet. I love that they are all so willing to share so much of themselves with fans. Twitter is such a great way to “get to know” the celebs that you may be a fan of and I can assure you, what you see/read from the Maddens is what you get in real life. It’s very clear that these guys are so thankful and grateful for their lives and they seem happy to share that bliss with the world. After all, who wouldn’t want an adorable photo of Harlow Winter to pop up in their Twitter timeline from time to time?

Here are a couple of really cute pics of daddy Joel Madden with his babygirl Harlow Winter after they did a bit of shopping at The Grove here in LA this past Monday. As you can tell, Joel took his little girl to American Girl Place to pick up some toys for her but she looked most excited to be spending time with her pappy:

These two … aren’t they the cutest? I love how doting both of Harlow‘s parents are but my heart just melts whenever I see how much her daddy loves to take care of her. I ain’t gonna lie, American Girl Place creeps me the HELL out (if you’ve ever been to one, I’m certain you’ll agree) but for some reason little girls love those dolls. I’m sure it’s a very small price to pay to keep Harlow happy with all the dolls she likes … after all, her parents get to enjoy the cutest doll of all in her.

Last month we saw the first photos of little Miss Harlow Winter Kate making her way out of her new ballet dance class (with her little BFF in tow) and today we get to see new photos of Harlow leaving dance class in her mother Nicole Richie‘s arms. Brace yourselves, insane cuteness ahead:

It’s like, Nicole Richie and daddy Joel Madden sit up nights thinking of ways they can make Harlow Winter look as adorable as possible. In all honesty, I don’t think there’s a way this little girl can’t look adorable but you put her in a pink tutu and, OY!, she’s just to die for cute :) I hope Harlow enjoys her ballet classes … I would love to see more pics like these in the coming weeks.
