Gwen Stefani Picks Up Some Party Supplies

It’s been some time since we’ve seen mama Gwen Stefani out and about with her son Kingston James but the duo surfaced here in SoCal over the weekend at a local Party City here in town. Gwen emerged from the store with a large bouquet of balloons while Kingston carried a small Spider-Man piñata. I’m gonna take a wild guess and say they were headed for a birthday party:

Gwen and her boys attend a lot of birthday parties so it’s not totally clear where they were headed with this stash of party supplies. My hope is that they went straight home so that Gwen could burn the oversized, saggy diaper bottoms she wore on this errand. I’m sure someone’s gonna say that these baggy pants things are “fashion forward” but they just look silly to me. In any event, Kingston is still far too young to be publicly embarrassed by his mother’s dress and he looks really happy with his pinata so I think he’ll be ok. Ah Gwen, I still heart you … whether you wear MC Hammer pants or not.

Holy cuteness, Batman!
Gwen Stefani & Her Bat Boys

Here are a few supercute photos of Gwen Stefani with her young sons Kingston James McGregor and Zuma Nesta Rock at a costume birthday party in SoCal yesterday afternoon … as you can tell from the photos, Kingston and Zuma each dressed as different incarnations of Batman:

While Kingston was dressed as the modern all black Batman, Zuma was decked out as the old skool black and gray Batman. When I was a kid, I don’t remember any of the birthday parties of my youth being costume parties. These celeb kids really get all the fun. It looks like a fun but exhausting day for Gwen and the boys. I suspect today will be much less stressful for the mom of two. The boys may have played superheroes yesterday but I’m guessing Gwen will play the mother goddess today for Mother’s Day :)

Gwen Stefani Steps Out With Her Easter Bunnies

Gwen Stefani got her boys all dolled up in matching bunny jumpsuits for their Easter celebration yesterday, ensuring that her sons will grow up with at least a few fixations that they will have to deal with in therapy. Here are a couple pics of Gwen and her little bunnies Kingston James McGregor and Zuma Nesta Rock making their way to her mother’s home for Easter dinner yesterday afternoon:

I mean … her boys are cute and all but … I have a bad feeling these kids are gonna have a lot of mommy issues to work out in the years to come. You just know that Gwen wishes she had at least one little girl to dote on … so she appears to be overly doting on her two sons. At least Zuma is still young enough that he don’t know what the hell is going on. But Kingston … ah … he’s gonna be a sassy one. I can feel it. At least she didn’t dress them up in matching bunny costumes … hmmm … mebbe she’s saving those for next year ;)

Plays 20 Questions
Gwen Stefani Does ‘In Style’ Magazine

Gwen Stefani, who has been off the radar for quite a few months, is back and on the cover of the new issue of In Style magazine. Gwen takes on 20 questions posed by the mag and also poses for a fairly stylish (yet sometimes tacky) accompanying photospread. Ah … it’s great to have Gwen back, no?

You can click HERE to read the fully transcribed interview and click HERE to see the accompanying photospread.

This is actually a very cool interview. She covers a lot of topics … it’s cool to hear her talk about mom stuff. She is so a mom more than she is a popstar anymore, it’s really sweet. I like this photospread for the most part … the white lace outfit, tho, is tacky. I believe it’s a L.A.M.B. design so … yeah. Otherwise, great shoot … and great interview. Welcome back, Gwen!

Kingston James McGregor Stefani-Rossdale Is A Very Affectionate Child

Gwen Stefani took her young sons, Kingston James McGregor and Zuma Nesta Rock, out for an afternoon of fun at a park here in SoCal and Kingston decided to thank his mother by giving her a big kiss on the lips yesterday afternoon:

Is this not the cutest thing ever? It turns out that Kingston‘s affection isn’t relegated to just his mother. He really seems to love his little brother Zuma, too. Check out those photos after the jump …

Gwen Stefani Buys Her Boys Sunglasses

Gwen Stefani and family are among the celebs vacationing in St. Bart’s this week and earlier today took her young boys — Kingston James McGregor and Zuma Nesta Rock — shopping for sunglasses … behold:

LOL. Zuma looks like a P.I.M.P. in these snazzy shades. I’m not sure a child this young really needs designer sunglasses but, then again, he really isn’t a normal child now is he? With the glasses on, Zuma looks a lot like Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, don’t you think? Cute pix.

Celebs Celebrate The 30th Anniversary Of The Museum Of Contemporary Art In LA

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale and others were on hand at the Museum of Contemporary Art here in LA last night to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the museum. The famous folk showed up to see a new exhibit honoring the MOCA‘s 30 year existence and were seen meandering around the premises … behold:

L.A.’s art world was rocked less than a year ago when the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) was on the brink of financial ruin, facing the sale of some its masterpieces. It is a completely different picture today. The Museum of Contemporary Art previewed its new exhibit, “Collection: MOCA’s First Thirty Years.” A big exhibit celebrating big news: MOCA is out of the red. And on Sunday it will open a major exhibition of its collection, more than 500 pieces of art by 200 artists. Philanthropist and arts patron Eli Broad kicked in $30 million. The museum raised another $30 million to get out of the red. They brought in former UCLA chancellor Charles Young to run things. “No 30-year journey is without bumps,” said Broad. “Many of you, I’m sure, recall a year ago, MOCA had a financial crisis.” MOCA began in 1979 by acquiring one major collection, then adding to it. “This is a world-class institution, among the best anywhere in the world,” said L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. As big as this exhibit is, this is just a tenth of MOCA’s collection, which is showing its earlier pieces on South Grand Avenue, and work from 1980 to the present at its Geffen Contemporary space nearby. A shuttle takes visitors between the two. Even with two spaces, how did MOCA’s chief curator choose what to exhibit to celebrate its 30 years? “Quality; the unique vision of the institution; and to tell the history of post-war art from the standpoint of Los Angeles today,” said MOCA Chief Curator Paul Schimmel. The celebration continues with a gala Saturday night. A thousand arts patrons from around the world will be entertained by headliner Lady Gaga, backed by the Bolshoi Ballet. MOCA is not the only L.A. museum displaying contemporary art. Broad has his name on one at the L.A. County Museum. So where does his heart lie now? “It lies in Los Angeles; to make Los Angeles the contemporary art capital of the world,” said Broad. The exhibit will be on display through May.

Celebs aren’t the only ones able to celebrate MOCA‘s 30th anniversary, LAist reports that admission to the museum will be FREE to the public all week long:

MOCA–the Museum of Contemporary Art–opened 30 years ago in Los Angeles. To celebrate the anniversary, the museum opens its largest installation tomorrow, featuring more than 500 works from more than 200 artists from its own permanent collection … The new exhibition features a comprehensive look at contemporary art history from the past 70 years, including pop art, abstract expressionism and photography. Highlighted artists and works include: Jackson Pollock’s Number 1, 1949 (1949); Willem de Kooning’s Two Women with Still Life (1952); Alberto Giacometti’s Tall Figure II and Tall Figure III (1960); Roy Lichtenstein’s Man with Folded Arms (1962); Jean-Michel Basquiat’s Six Crimee (1982) and Edward Ruscha’s Chocolate Room (1970-2004).

Amazing!! If you have not been to the MOCA and you live in the area, you must check out this exhibit. I’m hoping David and I can take advantage of this FREE offer sometime this week … the MOCA is a great museum. Congratulations on 30 years!!

Toy Story
Gwen Stefani Takes The Fam Trick-Or-Treating

While Alyson Hannigan, Alexis Denisof and Satyana made THE cutest costumed celeb family in my book this Hallowe’en season, I think I have to say that Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale and their sons Kingston James McGregor and Zuma Nesta Rock come in a close second on the adorable meter. Here is a photo of the Stefani-Rossdales trick-or-treating on Hallowe’en night:

While it’s plainly obvs that Gavin party-pooped out by NOT wearing a costume, Gwen‘s costume (Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl from Toy Story 2) is cute enough for the both of them … if you add the little lizard brothers, well, cuteness abounds. I’m so bummed that Hallowe’en is already over this year … pics as cute as this make me wish Hallowe’en was at least a week long :)

Picture Perfect
Gwen Stefani & Fam Spend Sunday In The Park

Here are a few adorable photos of Gwen Stefani with her PERFECT family — hubby Gavin Rossdale and sons Kingston James McGregor & Zuma Nesta Rock — enjoying a lovely, sunny day here in a park in SoCal yesterday afternoon:

We haven’t been able to see much of the Stefani-Rossdales here on the blog lately … mainly because Gwen was touring with No Doubt for much of the Summer. I believe her family was on the road with her but that left no time for them to just relax and play on the weekends. It’s crazy that little Zuma Nesta is already 1 years old! It seems like the cute little guy was just born and now he’s already 1. To be honest, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Gwen and Gavin decided to have another child soon … I bet she is desperate for a girl. Whatever the case may be, it’s hard to imagine this little family getting more perfect … but I’m sure they’ll do it.

Family Matters
Gwen, Zuma, Kingston & Gavin Rossdale Hit The Beach

Here are a couple supercute pics of the Stefani-Rossdale family enjoying a peaceful stroll on a beach in Malibu, CA this weekend just one week after they celebrated the first birthday of their newest child, Zuma Nesta Rock. Here are Gwen, Zuma, Gavin and Kingston soaking up the sun yesterday afternoon:

It’s been really dang hot here in SoCal in the past few days (temps have exceeded 100°F in many parts of the area) so it would make sense that the family would want to spend as much time as possible at the beach. While I would encourage that the little tykes wear some kind of head covering in all that sun, I’m certain they have been swathed in überprotective sunscreen. I’m curious to see how long this little family stays a foursome … cuz I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they began working on their next addition to the family.
