"She's not me" -- Madonna
Guy Ritchie Steps Out With A Madonna Clone

While Madonna was busying herself with a (very) young male model in NYC yesterday on the Harlem, NY street set of her latest photoshoot for Dolce & Gabbana, ex-hubby Guy Ritchie was busying himself with a younger model of his own. Guy stepped out with a younger model named Jacqui Ainsley in London this week … as you can see from the following photo, Miss Ainsley bears a striking resemblance to a much younger-looking Madonna:

When it comes to women Guy Ritchie certainly seems to have a type – slim, blonde and stunningly beautiful…much like ex-wife, Madonna. And the trend appears to have continued as the extremely eligible Mr Ritchie was spotted with model Jacqui Ainsley on his arm as they left the London restaurant Roka this week. At just 28 she is more than 13 years the film director’s junior, but what’s even more striking is she bears more than a passing resemblance to the queen of pop. An inspection shows just how similar the appearance of the two ladies is. They both have blonde hair, styled in a similar manner, a parting on the left with a section swept over their right eyebrow. Add to this the shape of their faces: the cheekbones, the chin, even their noses and eyebrows match up. Taking all this in to account, the uncanny similarity can’t be ignored – could it be that Guy Ritchie still holds a flame for his ex-wife?

LOL!! I don’t know about you but I TOTALLY see the Madonna resemblance. This is what Maddy wishes she still looked like … it’s almost uncanny. I suppose of Madonna can enjoy the company of a much younger beau, then Guy should be able to enjoy the same. What’s good for the goose is deffo good for the gander. I find it very strange, tho, that Guy would choose to date a woman who looks so much like his ex-wife … but maybe he doesn’t see it. In any event, I don’t expect these two to make a lasting commitment to one another. They make a nice looking fling, tho!

Jude Law Films A New Dior Advert With Guy Ritchie

Jude Law, current celebrity spokesperson for Christian Dior parfum, teamed up with his Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie to film a new commercial for a Dior fragrance in Paris, France this week … here are a few photos:

I’m certain that a commercial being helmed by Ritchie is sure to be a smashing success. I dunno why it requires such a production to inspire folks to wanna smell like Jude Law but, hey, I guess it works. It’s nice to see that these BFFs have remained close since they worked so closely together on Holmes. I can’t wait to see what the final product will look like.

Motherland, ho!
Guy Ritchie Gets His Sons For Xmas

Earlier today we saw a cute photo of David Beckham and his sons making their way thru LAX Airport bound for the UK and now we get to see an equally cute pic of daddy Guy Ritchie with his sons — Rocco John and David Banda — as they made their way thru Heathrow Airport in London earlier today:

As you may recall, Guy was in NYC this week for the premiere of his new film Sherlock Holmes but it appears that he was also in town to pick up his sons from their mother Madonna. It’s possible that Maddy will also make her way to the UK with her daughters but methinks that won’t be happening. It’s such a shame that the kids have to divide up their time with their parents in this way now that the couple are divorced but … c’est la vie. Here’s hoping the Ritchie men have themselves a merry little Xmas.

Bromance is in the air
Robert Downey, Jr, Guy Ritchie & Jude Law Are The Three Amigos

Robert Downey, Jr., Guy Ritchie and Jude Law made quite a menage at the Metropolitan Club where the afterparty for the NYC premiere of Sherlock Holmes was held last night. As you may recall, these three dudes hung out all the time when they were bizzy filming this movie last year and last night they were practically inseparable as they celebrated their film’s release:

Yes, this bromance has been in the works for a long time. They look like trouble, don’t they? I’m very curious to see how their seemingly fun off-screen chemistry works on-screen in Sherlock Holmes.

Amidst the fanfare, mixed reviews emerge
‘Sherlock Holmes’ Premieres In London

Last night the principal stars of Sherlock HolmesRobert Downey, Jr., Jude Law and Rachel McAdams — were joined by the film’s director, Guy Ritchie, for the world premiere of the film at Empire Leicester Square in London, England last night. While the stars glittered and gleamed on the red carpet, reviews of the film were slowly making themselves known … to mixed results. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals last night and some deets about those mixed reviews:

“Sherlock Holmes,” the latest film incarnation of the quintessentially English detective, drew a mixed reaction from London critics on Tuesday who variously described it as a roaring success and a hack job. London hosted the world premiere late on Monday of director Guy Ritchie’s movie starring Robert Downey, Junior as Holmes and Jude Law as his sidekick Doctor Watson, though the excitement of the event was not quite matched by the newspaper reviews. The Times praised the performances of the two main leads, saying Downey was “terrific” and praising Ritchie for drawing “a career-best performance from Law” — but said their double act failed to carry “an overlong film”. The Guardian was more blunt, saying Downey played Holmes “with boggle-eyed hamminess… a cartoon with darting eyes rather than a brain” and Law was just “blank” in this “high-end hack work”. It accused Ritchie of being in a “muddle” over what he was trying to achieve, saying he airbrushed out Holmes’ drug use and failed in his attempt to update the lead characters’ relationship and that of Watson and his fiancee. Ritchie insisted he had a clear vision, telling a press conference on Monday he had been a fan of Arthur Conan Doyle’s fictional detective since childhood “so I had a really strong vision of who Sherlock Holmes should be”. Many reviewers loved the film, however, including The Sun’s showbusiness correspondent who described it as a “roaring success”. Downey was “an exceptional Sherlock, who’s a clinical bare-knuckle fighter, hell-raising drinker and charmer”, he wrote, adding that Law was surprisingly convincing as a hardman. The Daily Telegraph described it as “undeniably a rollicking romp, an all-action blockbuster” led by a youthful Holmes that resembles a young Keith Richards, the Rolling Stones guitarist. “The pace rarely slackens throughout, the set pieces are explosive, the score relentlessly thunderous. Victorian London is recreated — relying on copious use of computer effects — with an eye for the grimy reality,” it said. The film’s producer, Joel Silver, who also worked with Ritchie on his previous movie “RocknRolla”, told reporters on Monday that Holmes was a “man of action” and they wanted to have fun with the main characters. “We invested ourselves in trying to make a contemporary movie that feels fresh and original but still embraces what Conan Doyle did. And I hope we succeeded,” he said. The film is released in the United States on December 25.

My guess is that the most negative reviews will come from ardent fans of the literary version of Sherlock Holmes and no movie will ever be able to live up to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle‘s work … particularly if it was directed by Madonna‘s ex-husband. Look, books are one thing movies are another … never the twain shall meet. It is very rare that a movie can live up to the expectation of a good book but it does happen sometimes … but even then, the book will always be superior. The Sherlock Holmes character is rich for movie-making fun and I have every confidence that Robert Downey, Jr. will do a great job bringing the character to life. I’m not worried … even if it’s not the best movie of the year, I have no doubt that Sherlock Holmes will be very entertaining. I can’t wait to see it!

Oh and Jude, lose the dandy babushka around your neck, please!

... and his female associate Lauren Meek
Guy Ritchie Bonds With His Boys

After spending some time with their mother Madonna and her much younger toyboy Jesus Luz in Portofino, Italy earlier this week in celebration of her 51st birthday, Rocco John and David Banda were reunited with their father Guy Ritchie in London, England today so that they could spend time with their pops. Interestingly enough, Guy‘s female work associate Lauren Meek (who worked with him on his films RocknRolla and Sherlock Holmes) spent the day with Ritchie and his sons … could it be that she and Guy are more than just work friends?

Sure, the mere fact that she was hangin’ with Guy and his sons doesn’t necessarily mean that anything of a romantic nature is going on but … I dunno. He’s a very attractive man, she’s an attractive woman. From what I understand about their relationship work-wise, he refers to her as his “rock”, especially in the wake of his divorce from Madonna. This may very well be what Guy‘s new family looks like these days … and everyone looks very happy. Not too shabby, not too shabby at all.

Guy Ritchie Spends Quality Time With His Sons

Here are a couple of supercute pics of Guy Ritchie spending some quality bonding time with his two sons, Rocco John and David Banda, in the UK this week. Guy, his boys and some friends made their way to see a theatrical production of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens … behold:

Guy Ritchie enjoyed a boys’ day out with sons Rocco and David yesterday as he took the pair to see the Peter Pan play in Kensington Gardens. The casually dress trio arrived at the production with friends and three-year-old David clutched his film director father’s hand as they may their way inside. Ritchie, 40, was every inch the doting father and couldn’t stop smiling as he enjoyed some bonding time with his boys. The ex-husband of pop star Madonna has been looking after Rocco, eight, and David at his home in Wiltshire while she bonds with newly adopted daughter Mercy in London. Madonna’s oldest daughter Lourdes is also thought to be with them. The 50-year-old pop star is said to be determined not to ‘smother’ four-year-old Mercy.

It’s very obvious that divorce is never the best family option for families but many, many times it’s a circumstance that cannot be helped. It seems to me that Madonna and Guy are doing a very good job keeping the kids of paramount importance and ensuring that they are able to spend lots of quality time with both of their parents. It’s not like Guy has to be commended for spending time with his own children but it is a happy sight to see him so involved in their lives (well, as much as he can be considering that they now live with their mother an ocean away). Maddy will be bizzy with the resumption of her Sticky & Sweet Tour in just a couple of weeks … methinks that daddy Guy will be picking up some of the parental slack in the coming weeks and months.

Coupling
Madonna & Guy Ritchie Continue To Move Forward, Separately

It looks as if things continue to be moving ahead swimmingly for both Madonna and ex-husband Guy Ritchie as they appear to be settling into their new routines … with new partners. Madge has been reunited with her Brazilian model, the youthful toyboy Jesus Luz (who has returned from Brazil to grace Maddy and her kids with his presence in NYC). Guy has been united with a new mysterious lady in Malibu, CA this weekend … the latest in an string of beauties he’s been spending his newly single time with. Here are pics of everyone all hooked-up with their new mates:

Guy Ritchie certainly seems to be enjoying his status as an eligible bachelor. The Sherlock Holmes director, who has been linked to a number of high-profile women including Elle Mapherson and Jemima Khan, was spotted enjoyed a romantic beach stroll with a brunette in Los Angeles yesterday. The pair had dined together at Marmalade cafe before taking to the sand for a walk along the Malibu foreshore. Guy kept it casual in jeans, a T-shirt and knit vest, while his attractive companion looked a picture of Californian chic in a white maxi dress, cardigan and heels. It seems romance was on the agenda on the East Coast too, with Guy’s ex Madonna taking her toyboy Jesus Luz to a polo game in New York. The singer attended the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic in Manhattan with sons David Banda, 3, and Rocco, 7. They mingled with designer Marc Jacobs in the VIP section while watching Prince Harry compete in the charity match. Madonna, 50, did her best to look youthful in denim jeans, matching jacket and trilby hat while Jesus looked every inch a typical 22-year-old in trainers, tracksuit pants, a T shirt and Ed Hardy cap. Despite the model’s recent claims the two are ‘just friends’, they certainly looked more like lovers as they leaned into each other on their way home.

Just friends my ass … but, whatevs. I am very pleased to see that everyone is moving on and finding new happiness with new people. Life is too short to be bitter and lonely … I may give Madonna & Child grief sometimes (in a lovingly/joking manner) but I do wish them happiness. I wish the same for Guy, too! So glad to see new love blossom!

Why should Madonna have all the friends?
Guy Ritchie Makes A Friend Of His Own

Guy Ritchie spent the Memorial Day weekend here in SoCal and was invited to a party in Malibu where it looked as if he made himself a new friend … a ladyfriend, that is. I suppose it’s possible that Guy and this blonde woman are “just friends” like Madonna and her 22 year old Brazilian toyboy model Jesus Luz are … or, they could just really be friends:

To be clear, Guy‘s goodbye kiss with this woman looks totally innocent. He was prolly just thanking her for a lovely party and that was all. I honestly don’t think that Guy Ritchie is lookin’ to jump into another relationship anytime soon. He seems happy tending to work and his children. That said, I do like Guy and I hope — when he’s ready — he finds a nice woman that will love and appreciate him. I’d deffo like to see him settled at some point.

Support System
Madonna Returns Home To Guy Ritchie In London

At the start of the weekend, as y’all prolly remember, we learned that the court in Malawi overseeing Madonna‘s adoption bid to become mother to 3 year old Chifundo Mercy James denied her petition for adoption and altho Maddy extended her stay in the country for a while longer she finally decided to leave Malawi early yesterday morning while her lawyers in Malawi launch an appeal to overturn the denial. It turns out that Maddy and her children Lourdes Maria, Rocco John and David Banda (her first adopted child) made their way to London instead of NYC where they were met at the airport by a very supportive person … her soon to be ex-hubby Guy Ritchie. Here are a few photos of Madonna‘s arrival in London yesterday and of Guy happily collecting his son David Banda:

Madonna returned to Britain last night after ordering lawyers to ‘do everything’ to win her adoption battle. The singer, 50, was said to be ‘devastated and shaking’ at having to leave Mercy James, four, behind in Malawi. As she touched down at Luton airport, the strain visible on her face, her Gulfstream jet was met by ex-husband Guy Ritchie. Ritchie leapt up the stairs to sweep their adopted son David into his arms for a hug, and whisk him and son Rocco, eight, off to his Wiltshire estate. He and Madonna did not appear to speak to each other, but Ritchie has publicly supported the adoption of Mercy. However, the pair were said to have argued over the issue while still married, and Ritchie’s father John said yesterday that his son would be ‘very relieved’ by the court’s decision. Judge Esme Chombo ruled last week that Madonna could not adopt Mercy as she had not met residency rules which require adoptive parents to live in Malawi for 18 to 24 months. The star’s lawyer Alan Chinula described the judgment as ‘incomprehensible’, saying the same court had approved her adoption of David Banda in 2006. He said they were appealing the decision in Malawi’s Supreme Court, and believed he had a good chance of winning. Sources said Madonna told him: ‘Do whatever you can to get me my Mercy; I can’t imagine her going back to the orphanage.’ The singer and her eldest daughter Lourdes, 12, were said to have fought back tears as they left Malawi without the child. Madonna also reportedly told aides: ‘I can’t believe I’m leaving my beautiful baby behind. It’s not right. I love that baby girl . . . She’s my little girl – she needs to be with me.’ Officials have already returned Mercy to an orphanage, despite the appearance of a man claiming to be her biological father. Security guard James Kambewa, 24, said he was willing to take a DNA test to prove he was Mercy’s father and wants to raise the child. If the court in Malawi accepts his paternity claim it is likely to be the final blow to Madonna’s hopes of adopting the child. Mr Kambewa, who lives in a remote village 100 miles from Lilongwe, said he was told Mercy had died with her mother the birth. He told the Sunday Mirror: ‘I bear no grudge against Madonna. But I am Mercy’s father and I want her to stay with me… I will make it plain that my daughter will be staying in Malawi with me.’ Madonna had been told the girl was an orphan and Malawian authorities said her mother and father were dead. The girl’s other relatives had consented to the adoption.

What a swell Guy, indeed. Altho this report makes sure to mention that Madonna and Guy did not speak on the tarmac, I can only believe that Guy was there to offer his support for Maddy in her time of grief. I imagine that all of this has been emotionally hard on Maddy and I’m sure Guy is the kind of person to offer support instead of offering petty nonsense. I think being with Guy and her children, at least for a bit, will be very good for Madonna. Concerning these men coming forth to claim Mercy as their daughter, I really hope that it turns out that her father is still alive. My question is why did these men only step forward after Madonna tried to adopt the little girl? As I said, I hope her father is alive and that he steps forward to care for her … it’s just a sad matter all around. Here’s hoping that Madonna can get the support she needs from the folks in her life and, in the end, I hope the situation works out the best for little Mercy James. She is the most innocent person in all of this with the most to lose.
