MJ's Children, Family & Justin Bieber Honor The Late King of Pop
Michael Jackson ‘Immortal’ized At Grauman’s Chinese Theater

At the start of this month, we learned that the late Michael Jackson was to be immortalized in cement in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA to kick off the 3-week LA residency of Michael Jackson: The Immortal Tour by Cirque Du Soleil. The big hand/footprint ceremony took place yesterday and featured MJ‘s 3 children — Prince Michael Joseph, Paris Michael Katherine and Prince Michael Joseph Blanket Jackson — doing the honor of signing his name, imprinting his sequined glove and a pair of his dancing shoes in cement. Many members of the Jackson family (including his mother Katherine and his brothers Tito, Jackie, Marlon and Jermaine) were also on hand for the event yesterday, alongside luminaries like Quincy Jones, Smokey Robinson … and strangely, Justin Bieber. Click below to see some photos from yesterday’s event and watch video of MJ‘s children paying tribute to their late father.

The Actress Leaves Her Hand/Footprints at Grauman's Chinese Theater
Helen Mirren Makes Her Mark In Hollywood

Esteemed actress Helen Mirren was honored in Hollywood, CA yesterday in a special ceremony where she was asked to leave her hand and footprints in the cement in front of the world famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Not many actors are chosen for this honor so I think it speaks very highly of her status to be honored in this way. Check out some photos from this fun event below.

Cementing her status as a Hollywood icon
Cher Leaves Her Mark On Hollywood Blvd.

On Tuesday we saw photos of Christina Aguilera getting her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame but because the iconic Cher (who co-stars with Xtina in their new film Burlesque) already has a star on the Walk of Fame they had to go above and beyond to honor the legend. Cher was on hand yesterday to leave her hand and foot prints in the cement in front of the famed Grauman’s Chinese Theater … here are a few photos:

Cher made her mark in Hollywood history on Thursday by placing her hand and footprints in cement outside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, as her new film “Burlesque” hits theaters next week. The music icon is returning to the big screen in a big way after a seven-year absense. She said she never intended to take such a long break from the movies. “There aren’t a lot of scripts that were right for me, there was one I wanted to do, ‘Mamma Mia,’ but I was working, so I couldn’t. This one just kind of worked its way into it,” said Cher. Cher shares a lot of her scenes with actor Stanley Tucci. They were the veteran cast members in a movie filled with newcomers like Christina Aguilera. “We were there just to do a good job, have a good time, but also to be supportive of someone like Christina who had never done a film before,” said Tucci. In one scene in the movie, Cher puts makeup on Christina. Cher said she wrote that part of the script. It’s a true story about her mom. Both Tucci and Cher said they’re similar to their on-screen characters in that they’re both nurturers in real life. “I have three children that I take care of since my wife passed away. That’s most of how I spend my time,” said Tucci. “I’m also, like the character in the movie. I’m used to having so many people around, much younger,” Cher said. “They look to you to give them the feeling of security, and I think that was the relationship I had with the girls in this film.” Cher will be one of among nearly 200 celebrities who have left their prints at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

Cher now joins Hollywood legends like John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, Steve McQueen, Darth Vader and more as the celebrities immortalized forever in cement in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater. While it’s fairly easy for a celeb to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it’s a bit more of an exclusive matter to be asked to leave your hand/foot prints in the cement in front of Grauman’s. Cher is the perfect celebrity to be so honored. I’m still on the fence about seeing Burlesque, I gotta say. I’m not impressed by what I’ve seen thus far nor am I ever that impressed when Xtina over-excitedly wails her songs … but if anything is going to get me to pony up and pay to see this film, it’ll be Cher. Let’s send our love and congrats to Cher on this latest accomplishment … IMHO, it’s long overdue.

Hugh Jackman Leaves His Mark On Hollywood Blvd.

Hugh Jackman made a very special in-person appearance today on Hollywood Blvd. in front of the famed Grauman’s Chinese Theater in order to leave his hand and footprints in the pavement in front of the theater. Jackman‘s prints will sit alongside Hollywood icons like Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck … which ain’t too shabby. Here are pics of Hugh at today’s hand/footprint ceremony and some deets from the event:

Hugh Jackman has cemented his claws and paws in Hollywood history. The Australian star of X-Men Origins: Wolverine was honoured at a ceremony on Tuesday outside Hollywood Boulevard’s historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, where his hand and footprints were immortalised in cement. Jackman’s markings sit alongside the legends of Hollywood, with the likes of Marilyn Monroe , John Wayne , Frank Sinatra , Clark Gable , Bing Crosby, Doris Day and Humphrey Bogart performing similar ceremonies in the theatre’s iconic forecourt the past 70 years. “I have to tell you,” Jackman told a vocal crowd of about 500 fans and dignitaries, including Rupert Murdoch, owner of the 20th Century Fox film studio, which is releasing the Wolverine film. “This particular block of real estate has brought me two moments in my life I thought would never ever happen. Hosting the Oscars and now here today. It means the world to me to be here.” Grauman’s Chinese Theatre is located next to the Kodak Theatre, the home of the annual Oscars ceremony. Sydney-born Jackman, 41, hosted February’s Oscars and was so well received that he’s expected to be asked to perform the job again next year.

I’d say that Hugh Jackman is having a pretty great career right about now. Everyone wants a piece of him (in more ways than one) and he rarely disappoints. Even tho Australia wasn’t the blockbuster it was promised to be, Hugh was (by all accounts) the best thing in that film. With X-Men Origins: Wolverine opening in theaters in about 2 weeks time, he is about to take off as a superhero leading man. It is quite an honor to leave your handprints in the cement in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater. While there are hundreds and hundreds of stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, there are just a few sets of hand/footprints in front of the theater. Personally, I think it would’ve been kinda cool if he would’ve also left his Wolverine claw marks in the pavement but … I guess beggers can’t be choosers. Congrats, Hugh! You’re a true megastar now!

Caution: Wet Cement
Michael Caine Leaves His Mark On Hollywood Blvd.

Veteran actor (and star of Batman: The Dark Knight) Michael Caine was on hand (and feet) yesterday to leave his hand and footprints in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA … here are a few pics from his ceremony:

Oscar-winner Michael Caine literally made his mark on Hollywood here Friday, joining the ranks of movie legends who have sunk their hands and feet in concrete outside the famous Chinese Theatre. The 75-year-old actor was honored at a ceremony in front of the Hollywood landmark attended by around 100 guests, including the director of Caine’s next film, the upcoming Batman sequel “The Dark Knight.” Caine, who has twice won best-supporting Oscars for his roles in “Hannah and Her Sisters” and “The Cider House Rules,” plays the caped crusader’s loyal butler Alfred in the keenly anticipated blockbuster, due out on July 18. “It’s the only award of its kind in the world,” Caine told the local ABC7 television network. “I know you get your star on the Hollywood pavement, but there’s only been 192 of these since 1921, so they don’t throw them about, you know?” … Caine has appeared in more than 100 films during a career that has spanned a half-century.

Woot! Much congrats to Michael Caine on this recognition … he is one of those actors that you may not think about very often but are always impressed with when he shows up in a film. He makes a great Alfred in the new Batman franchise … I look forward to seeing him in many future Batman films from here on out. Kudos and congrats again!!!
