The news that fans of the Gossip Girl book series have been waiting to hear has finally come. Playboy cad Chuck Bass, who has an affinity for the ladies as well as the gents in the book version of the series, will indeed be exploring the realm of same-sex fraternization in the TV version of the series. Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly broke the news late yesterday that Chuck Bass, played by Brit Ed Westwick, will be kissing a dude in the third ep of the coming Fall season … which is good news because this plot development does take place in the book series. I am very happy to know that producers of the TV show are keepin’ it real. Here are pics of Westwick in costume on the set of GG here in NYC yesterday:

Spotted: Chuck Bass sucking face with a dude! It’s true! Multiple Gossip Girl insiders confirm to me exclusively that the CW phenom is currently shooting an episode for its upcoming third season in which Ed Westwick’s legendary lothario kisses another man … First things first: Sorry to disappoint, but no, it’s not Chace Crawford. Westwick’s “romantic” interest is up-and-comer Neal Bledsoe (CSI: NY, Guiding Light), who’s guest-starring in episode 6 as Josh Ellis, NYU’s head of freshman affairs. Since Josh is tasked with selecting an incoming student for the honor of delivering the freshman speech, he’s, shall we say, a person of interest to Blair. In fact, she’s so determined to snag the slot that she goes so far as to pimp out her boyfriend to the gay guy in charge. The catch? All you need to know is there is one. Oh, and wait until you hear what Chuck says to Blair following the lip-lock. (Must. Resist. Temptation. To. Spoil.) It was only a matter of time before GG played the maybe-gay card with Chuck, who swung both ways in Cecily von Ziegesar’s Gossip Girl books.

Well, it’s about time. Not for nothing but a show as fun as Gossip Girl really needs to up its gay factor … and, sorry, Serena’s gay little brother ain’t really gettin’ the job done. Now, I have not read the GG books but I’ve been well informed of Chuck Bass’s proclivities for the man-on-man action. Sure he dabbles but dabbling can be fun … which, I’m sure, we’ll see acted out this coming season on the TV show. Perhaps once the other GG guys see how much fun Chuck is having they’ll wanna join in, too (I’m talking to you Nate Archibald)! This new development deffo makes Gossip Girl must see TV … at least for me.

Last week we got to check out a promo trailer for the upcoming 3rd season of Gossip Girl, which will premiere on The CW on Monday September 14, and today we get to check out the new promo poster that has just been released for the show:

Fairly straightforward, nothing that surprising. The core group of Gossips lookin’ stylishly fabulous as usual. The first thing I think of when I see the characters in this photo is College Students, don’t you? We’re just a few weeks away from the start of a whole new season of drama and I’ll take it, even if it looks ridiculously unrealistic.

The Fall television season is nearly upon us and we already know that many of our fave shows have been in production for many weeks now to bring the boob tube entertainment that we’ve all been missing since the last television season ended back in late Spring. We know that Gossip Girl Season 3 started filming back in June and here we are 2 months later with the first video trailer for the upcoming season … here are a few screencaps of our first look of GG Season 3:

The trailer is also our first look at the WTF! promo campaign for the series. While it does not show the new GG character that will be played by Hilary Duff, it does quickly feature two other new characters played by Joanna Garcia (ex-Privileged) and Chris Riggi (who plays Scott Ronsson, long-lost lovechild of Lily van der Woodsen and Rufus Humphrey). In early July we learned that former popstar and sometimes actress Hilary Duff would be joining the cast of Gossip Girl in the show’s 3rd season this Fall and yesterday was her first day on the job. Here are a few pics of Hil D. with her new GG cohorts Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley and Blake Lively on her first day of filming on the NYC set of the show:

Clearly, Hilary is trying to get more acting gigs under her belt … she’s been in a couple of movies recently and did a guest stint on Law & Order: SVU earlier this year. This new gig on stint on Gossip Girl could be just the right vehicle to get her back on the acting map. Long gone are her days on Lizzie Maguire, so she’s got some work to do to get back in the public consciousness as an actress. While her attempt to get her own show on NBC, titled Barely Legal, didn’t get picked up by the network at least she can take heart that the folks at GG took pity saw that she would be a great asset to the show. I mean … she’s already decked out in a hipster straw hat … she’s well on her way. Do any of y’all think Hil will blend seamlessly in with the rest of the cast or will she stick out like a big “guest star” sore thumb?

On the season finale of Gossip Girl last Spring many changes took place with the gang to set up the coming season (filming now in NYC). We saw that Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass finally got together and we were introduced to the lovechild of Lily van der Woodsen and Rufus Humphrey. Here on the blog a few weeks ago, we learned that Joanna Garcia (formerly of The CW series Privileged) has joined the cast … and, of course, Michelle Trachtenberg is back as Georgina Sparks. I LOVE seeing Ed Westwick in fun t-shirt … clearly he was not in full Chuck Bass costume yet ‘cuz Chuck would never be seen in public wearing a t-shirt. I also love that Chace Crawford is carrying Joanna Garcia’s purse. Chace totally strikes me as the purse-carrying sort of fella. Late last month we learned that filming production got underway in NYC on the 3rd season of Gossip Girl and shortly thereafter we also learned that both Hilary Duff and Joanna Garcia (who previously starred in The CW series Privileged which has been canceled) are joining the cast for the 3rd season. Today we get to see a few new pics from the set of GG where a couple of co-stars were filming a sexy kissing scene:

Now, it really should come as no surprise to fans of GG who these two kissing co-stars are … but, just in case and to err on the side of caution, I’ll keep the spoileryish reveal behind the cut. Production continues on the NYC set of the hit CW series Gossip Girl as Chace Crawford was spotted filming new scenes for the show’s upcoming 3rd season with a new castmember. Here are pics of Chace and actress Joanna Garcia on the set of Gossip Girl earlier today:

As you may already know, Joanna Garcia starred on another CW series called Privileged but that show got canned so, thankfully, she got picked up to join Gossip Girl. It’s unclear what character she’ll be playing (sexy older woman? college teaching assistant?) but one suspects she’s just as rich as the GG kids are. The scenes filmed today were done on a heliport … so Garcia’s character prolly has a lot of cash. I can’t wait to see if she brings something new and exciting to the show.
