Gossip Girl fans look out!! I’ve just come across pics of an upcoming Gossip Girl scene being filmed in NYC today…and it looks like our main characters are in for some big changes! The scene, which was filmed on the steps of The Met in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, is the site where high school Blair used to wait with her gaggle of girls… now, it looks like she is there with ‘lonely boy’ Dan, and he isn’t that lonely any more… Eeek! Mayor Bloomberg of NYC has officially named 26 January, ‘Gossip Girl Day!’ Don’t laugh, it’s true. He went on set today and awarded the show an official proclamation in honor of the 100th episode (which will be screened on Monday). Today, 26 January is now both Gossip Girl day and Australia day (yes, it is the official day celebrating the island continent I call home). Read on to find out why GG has it’s own day…

Gossip Girl will be celebrating it’s 100th episode later this month and to mark the occasion, actress Blake Lively (who plays Serena Van Der Woodsen on the show) will be channeling her inner Marilyn Monroe for a dream sequence in the 100th ep. As you can see in the promo photos below, Blake (as Serena) portrays Marilyn Monroe in her iconic Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend ensemble as she is flanked by co-star Leighton Meester (in costume as Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s) and her male co-stars dressed in tuxedos. Last year we reported that there was talk of a 3rd Sex and the City movie or a new TV series, now we know that it’s official – there will be a SATC prequel (as in the opposite of a sequel) hitting our screens sometime soon. We don’t know dates yet, and the big question remains…who will be in it?

Last month I mentioned that an upcoming episode of Gossip Girl will take place inside the world of the immersive off Broadway show Sleep No More (which I’ve been crazy-obsessed with lately) and today we get to see the promo video for that ep. As you can see below, the cast of GG will use the opportunity of being masked to allow their true feelings to be exposed … or something like that. This episode of Gossip Girl will air on Monday so check out the preview video below to get a taste of what’s to come.

Elizabeth Hurley, who was supposed to play the villainous Veronica Cale in the upcoming Wonder Woman reboot (that was, unfortch, not picked up by NBC), has popped up on the NYC set of Gossip Girl. Liz has been cast as Diana Payne and, as you can see from the photos below, she has her sights firmly planted on Chace Crawford‘s character Nate Archibald. Um, all I can say is … get it, gurl!

The next season of Gossip Girl is going to be two Gossip girls lighter because today we are learning that actresses Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr have been dropped as series regulars. Taylor and Jessica‘s characters — Jenny Humphrey and Vanessa Abrams, respectively — have pretty much been M.I.A. all season long this year so it’s not a big surprise that they are being cut from the show. Read on for all the reported deets of the ladies’ exit from the show.

Penn Badgley turns 24 years old today and in celebration of his birthday, he was presented with a chocolate cake on the set of Gossip Girl in NYC earlier today. Unfortch for Penn, because this impromptu birthday party took place on the GG set, he had to “celebrate” with his ex-girlfriend and GG co-star Blake Lively:

Now, it’s entirely possible that things between Penn and Blake are just fine in the wake of their recent break-up — after all, it was Blake who baked that sad-looking cake … then again, things could be totally shitty depending who did the breaking up with who … especially when you consider that the couple have to work so closely together on set day after day. Let’s send all of our Birthday Lurve to Penn today in the hopes that his birthday is a Happy one, not a Crappy one.

At the close of last season on Gossip Girl, Jenny Humphrey (played by Taylor Momsen) was exiled from NYC, NY by Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) after her sexual liaison with Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) was uncovered. It would appear that all of that is just water under the bridge because Little J is coming back to NYC, coming back to Gossip Girl … and she’s bringing the amazing Tim Gunn with her:

Although Blair (Leighton Meester) made it perfectly clear that Little J was no longer welcome in Manhattan after what happened with Chuck (Ed Westwick), Jenny (Taylor Momsen) is tempted by a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Tim Gunn (“Project Runway”), which could be a game changer for her future. Meanwhile, Serena (Blake Likely) discovers something about her new boyfriend, Colin (guest star Sam Page), that may put an end to their relationship just as it was getting good. Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Jessica Szohr, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle also star.

As you may recall, back in August we got to see Tim Gunn on the GG set and now we know when he’ll debut on the show … Monday October 25. I guess Jenny will be coming back to NYC to attend classes at Parsons New School for Design and that is why Tim is appearing on the show. I understand that Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and Isaac Mizrahi will also be appearing on the 10/25 ep. Set those DVRs, it’s an ep you Gossip Girl fans do not want to miss. I’m still loving the show, really loving Tim Gunn … Taylor‘s miserable smirk, notsomuch. Eh, I guess you can’t love everything ;)

This may be a Gossip Girl spoiler of sorts but Taylor Momsen, who was kinda written off the show last season, was spotted on the NYC set of the show filming new scenes for an upcoming ep. For some reason, Taylor was photographed wearing a mask while she was on set:

It was once rumored that Taylor would be starring in her own GG spin-off show but that report has long since been debunked. At the end of last season, Momsen‘s character Jenny was shipped off to boarding school … but apparently, she’s back.
