Altho the song is originally a Dolly Parton song, it was the late Whitney Houston that turned it into a MONSTER hit that is remembered to this day by many as Whitney‘s greatest hit song. Riley‘s performance of the song on Glee last night was pitch perfect in very single way. She gave a stunningly beautiful rendition of the song that can only be described as an unintended yet truly loving tribute to the late Whitney Houston.

The lead singer from the band Maroon 5, Adam Levine, has wanted to start his own label for a long time, and now he has launched his own recording company and signed his first star… Matthew Morrison from Glee.The label is called 222 and Matthew is expected to release his second album this spring. Two very talented guys working together – we are surely in for a treat.

I learned last night that we have some new stars of the NBC comedy pilot The New Normal. Actress Ellen Barkin is in negotiations to star in a new comedy from the Glee team, Ryan Murphy and Allison Adler. It has been described as a heartwarming comedy about a blended family, a gay couple and a surrogate. They’ve signed on some real talent including the lead from the Broadway hit, Book of Mormon…

While the hottie threesome of The Vampire Diaries covers the Valentine’s Day issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine this week, the folks over at Glee are getting ready for their big VD episode next week. The new promo for next week’s show promises a heart-filled episode full of love, love and more love. Last night we saw the new TV show, Smash, make its debut. In its 10 p.m. time slot, it generated real ratings for NBC. The reports are saying that its 11.5 million viewers was the highest it has had in that time slot in more than 3 years. Does this mean that the “backstage musical” is going to be a smash hit? Earlier this month, Ricky Martin tweeted a photo from the set of Glee and right now we get to see some of the work he has done on the show. Ricky will appear on next Tuesday’s ep of Glee as the school’s new Spanish teacher and, naturally, will bust out into song with the rest of the Glee cast. The girls and boys will swoon, Mr. Shue will roll his eyes disapprovingly and … the end, another ep of Glee. Yesterday we got to check out the full Glee performance of Michael Jackson‘s classic song Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ from this coming Tuesday’s special MJ tribute episode of Glee. Today, in further anticipation of the special tribute ep, we get to see the full Glee performance of Michael Jackson‘s song Smooth Criminal. Unlike the performance we saw yesterday of Startin’ Somethin’, this performance of Criminal is more pared down … intimate … bare bones. Check out the clip in full below and see what you think.

A couple of weeks ago, TV Guide previewed the upcoming episode of Glee that will devoted entirely to the music of Michael Jackson and today, right now, we get to check out the full Glee performance of the MJ classic Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’. This very special Michael Jackson tribute episode of Glee won’t air on Fox until Tuesday January 31 … but we do get to check out the Glee version of Startin’ Somethin’ below.

White Collar hottie, Matt Bomer is said to be signing a deal to guest-star in an upcoming episode of Glee as Blaine‘s older brother. Glee producer, Ryan Murphy, seems to be big fan of Matt’s, as he has recently cast him in the film adaptation of Larry Kramer’s play, The Normal Heart opposite Julia Roberts and Alec Baldwin.

Earlier this week it was reported that actors Jeff Glodbloom and Brian Stokes Mitchel have been cast to play gay dads to Lea Michele‘s Rachel Berry character on Glee. Today we get our first look at Rachel and her two dads as they mug for an impromptu family photo together on the set of Glee.
