George Clooney’s Houseguests Are Expected To Strip Down While Swimming

George Clooney on his Lake Como customs: “[Skinny dipping] is a tradition at my house! It’s funny. … Some people skinny dip, but I always go upstairs and put a suit on and then I jump in the lake. … First I got Walter Cronkite to jump in. Then I got David Gergen to jump in. And I used Walter Cronkite to get Gergen to jump in. And I used Marisa [Tomei] and Evan [Rachel Wood] in the lake to get Charlie Rose to jump in.” [Source]

... In His New Movie
George Clooney Is Running For President . . .

New political campaign posters have gone up in downtown Detroit, MI announcing that actor George Clooney is running for president! No, this wasn’t an April Fool’s joke, the posters are background pieces on the set of Clooney‘s new film The Ides of March which is currently filming in Detroit. As you may recall, back in February we saw photos of Clooney and his co-star Ryan Gosling on the Ides set in Ohio but in March we learned that filming production had moved North to the beautiful State of Michigan … where these new prop political posters are now on display.

Changing of the Guard
Ryan Gosling & George Clooney Begin Filming A New Movie Together

Elder actor George Clooney and the much younger Ryan Gosling surfaced together on the Cincinnati, OH set of their new film The Ides of March. As I understand it, the film is a political drama about dirty campaigning or something like that. I believe the dynamic is that Gosling‘s character will be working for Clooney‘s character. Whatever the case may be, the film promises that a whole lotta inter-generational hotness will be had.

'Modern Family' and 'Mad Men' take home the big awards
The 2010 Emmy Awards Are Handed Out

Last night at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles, CA the 62nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out on LIVE TV in a telecast that offered some entertainment, lots of surprises and a bit of disappointment. Here are a few photos of some of the attendees of last night’s Emmy Awards as they made their grand arrivals on the red carpet:

As for the show itself, well, overall I was a bit underwhelmed by what we were given. I thought Jimmy Fallon did a fairly good job as host but much of the show was tedious and annoying. The announcer who wouldn’t shut up as the night progressed really got on my nerves. They need to get rid of him, like, seriously. I really enjoyed Jimmy‘s musical interludes and I really enjoyed the show’s Glee-themed opening number. In case you missed it or just want to watch it again, you can do so after the jump …

The 2010 Spike Guys’ Choice Awards Are Handed Out

Altho Sandra Bullock‘s surprise appearance at the 2010 Spike Guys’ Choice Awards last night was a pretty big deal, there were other celebs in the hiz to strut their stuff on the red carpet and/or collect award trophies of their own. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, CA last night for the Spike Guys’ Choice Awards:

As you might expect, Sandra did not walk down the red carpet so that her appearance on stage to collect the Troops Choice Award for Entertainer of the Year could be kept a closely guarded secret (and I don’t expect she’ll appear on the red carpet of the MTV Movie Awards tonight either, mainly so she can avoid answering any uncomfortable questions that might be asked of her) but as you can see, there were other celebs spotted on the red carpet. After the jump, check out some pics from the Guys’ Choice stage and find out who some of the night’s big winners were …

Donations are still coming in
Celebs Team Up To Raise ‘Hope For Haiti Now’

Celebs all over the globe, broadcasting from different cities across the US and abroad, came together last night for a multi-network telethon called Hope for Haiti Now in an effort to inspire viewers at home to donate funds for the relief effort in Haiti. George Clooney, who organized the telethon, played host for the event while various celebs manned the phone lines to take in donations and others performed live thruout the show:

Solemn music from the world’s biggest stars served as the soundtrack to Friday night’s telethon for Haiti relief, but the fundraiser ended with Wyclef Jean shouting “Enough of the moping, let’s rebuild Haiti.” Organizers did not immediately say how much money was raised during the two-hour “Hope for Haiti Now” show, but donations will continue to flow in as the phone lines remained open and the night’s musical performances are sold on iTunes. A moving performance by Alicia Keys opened the telethon. Actor George Clooney, serving as the Los Angeles host for the event, made the first appeal for donations to raise money for relief efforts after last week’s devastating earthquake. “The Haitian people need our help,” Clooney said. “They need to know they are not alone. They need to know that we still care.” The show was one of the most widely distributed prime-time televised benefits in history, appearing simultaneously on more than 25 networks — including CNN, where Anderson Cooper reported live from Haiti during the event. Children left homeless and orphaned by the earthquake were front and center. “Hundreds and thousands of children in Haiti are lost and they’re looking for their parents,” actress Halle Berry said. “Please, look into your heart. Please, help these children of Haiti.” Cooper, in one of several live appearances, was joined by 5-year-old Monley, a Haitian boy who was pulled alive — but severely dehydrated — from the rubble nearly eight days after the quake. Ten members of his family, including both parents, were killed. Actor Samuel L. Jackson, walking in front of a phone bank staffed by celebrities, assured viewers that “100 percent of your donations will go directly to organizations that are on the ground right now.” More than 100 actors, musicians and other celebrities answered phones in New York and Los Angeles — after professional operators first talked to donors. “Thank you so much for your donation,” actress Reese Witherspoon told one caller. “You can’t imagine how much love and great, wonderful energy is here today. People are doing everything they can to make a difference in these people’s lives.” “I’m just calling to help out,” the male donor said. “I couldn’t donate a lot, but what I could I did donate” … Wyclef Jean — a native of Haiti and the New York host for the event — talked about his visit last week to Haiti. “I was there to clear away concrete and pull away rubble,” Jean said. “I carried bodies of my people to the cemetery.” Jean’s “Yele Haiti Foundation” will receive some of the money raised. “From the ashes we shall rise, so please give what you can,” he said. Bruce Springsteen performed “We Shall Overcome,” a spiritual that became the anthem of the U.S civil rights movement. “This is a small prayer for Haiti,” Springsteen said as he began. Other musical performers included Stevie Wonder, Shakira, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Coldplay, Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Jennifer Hudson, Madonna, Dave Matthews and Neil Young … The show — presented by MTV — was carried on CNN.com/Live and the CNN iPhone application. Other networks airing “Hope for Haiti” included ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT. The show was also aired on the Discovery’s eco-lifestyle television network, Planet Green. Proceeds from the telethon will benefit Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF, the U.N. World Food Programme, Yele Haiti Foundation, and the Clinton Bush Haiti Foundation.

The performances were solemn, yes, but the images that were broadcast of the suffering in Haiti were devastatingly heartbreaking. If you were particularly fond of any one performance, you can purchase a special edition album of performances from iTunes with the proceeds going to the charities associated with Hope for Haiti Now. After the jump, check out a short video of highlights from last night’s telethon and watch a beautiful acoustic performance of Like a Prayer by Madonna

Also shows off his bad weave and porn'stache
George Clooney Shows Off His B-Ball Skillz

George Clooney was spied shootin’ hoops all by himself while on location in Roswell, NM where his new film Men Who Stare At Goats is currently being filmed. As you can tell from the following pics, George didn’t even bother to get out of costume before he made his way to the basketball court — when you gotta play, you gotta play:

In Goats (which sounds totally weird judging by the name alone), Clooney plays a soldier named Lyn Cassady with really bad hair. In these pics, his new porn’stache that was grown specifically for this role doesn’t look as impressive as it did when we first saw it last month . Truth be told, I haven’t heard or seen anything that even remotely has me interested in this film … a porn’stache and sweet b-ball moves ain’t enough to get my ass to the movie theater. What else ya got, Clooney?

Well ... on second thought
George Clooney Can’t Stop Being Hawt

Earlier this week we saw a couple pics of a sexy ‘stached George Clooney lounging poolside in Puerto Rico where he is preparing for his next role in the film Men Who Stare At Goats. Those pics were so much fun to look at that I had to see if there were any more … and here they are:

Woo … again, I must reiterate my new-found respect for George‘s distinguished good-looks. I mean. Yeah. But, while Georgie looks hawt au natural the story changes a bit when he is in costume for his new movie role … er … the hotness kinda gets replaced with creepiness. After the jump, see what I mean …

Yes, please!
A ‘Stached & Shirtless George Clooney Brings The Sexy

You may recall that yesterday we saw pics of Jude Law rockin’ a new ‘stache as he prepares to take on the role of Watson to Robert Downey, Jr‘s Sherlock Holmes in the movie version of Arthur Conan Doyle‘s famed character … and today, George Clooney takes the hot’stache look to a whole new level. Here are pics of the newly ‘stached Clooney relaxin’ down in Puerto Rico with movie script in lap as he goofed around while sunnin’ himself poolside:

I mean … damn, he looks good. Now, I’ve never been one to lust after George Clooney or anything but I understand that he appeals to a lot of folks out there. In this light, I can see the appeal. It’s not even the ‘stache that ups his hotness level for me … I think it’s the overall shirtlessness. This 47-year old man could really give some of those young bucks a run for their money. I’m deffo seeing George Clooney in a whole new light. MMM HMMM.

Brad claims, 'I'll have two more [kids] by next year'
‘Burn After Reading’ Premieres In Venice

Brad Pitt (who was spotted in Venice, Italy yesterday with his two oldest sons), George Clooney, Tilda Swinton and the Coen brothers were all on hand for a photocall/premiere event at the Venice Film Festival earlier today to promote their new movie Burn After Reading. Here are a few pics from the event red carpet:

Burn After Reading looks like a pretty good film … I mean, the Coens are pretty amazing filmmakers and the cast is really superb (mainly, I’m most excited about Tilda Swinton and Frances McDormand). It’s been ages since we’ve seen Brad Pitt in any kind of humorous film … I hope it’s as good as it appears from the trailer.

Speaking of Mr. Pitt, he and Mr. Clooney had themselves a little fun with the personal questions that were lobbed at them left and right at a press conference:

Reporters at a Burn After Reading press conference Wednesday in Venice, Italy, didn’t seem to care too much about the new comedy. Instead, they wanted to talk babies and marriage with the film’s stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney. Is it better to win an Oscar or fall in love with a beautiful woman, one reporter asked Pitt. “Brad, don’t answer that,” Clooney quipped. When a Hong Kong TV channel reporter asked Pitt if his twins look more like him or Angelina Jolie, Clooney stepped in again. “The twins are fine,” he said, according to Reuters. Does Clooney have any plans to settle down and have kids himself, another journalist asked. “I am so surprised to hear that question. That is honestly the first time I’ve been asked that question,” he joked. “I am getting married and having children today. Brad?” Replied Pitt, “And until then I’ll be sharing mine with him. I’ll have two more by next year.” Pitt made his first public post-twin appearance with Clooney Tuesday night at a Not On Our Watch fundraiser at Venice’s Giudecca island.

Yeah, you think Brad is kidding? I wouldn’t blink an eye if the Brangelina brood did, in fact, expand next year. It’s about time the fam got back to adoptin’ orphans, right?
