Hands down, last night was my fave of all the Kylie shows I’ve seen. It is such an exhilarating experience being that close to such an iconic pop icon. I’ve been front row for Madonna shows and for Britney Spears shows but Kylie’s effervescent nature is just infectious …

The show, once again, was freakin’ fantastic. David and I got to see Kylie in Oakland, CA and then again in Hollywood, CA and last night’s show was JUST AS FUN as the previous two. My friend Tony, who is also here in town to see the Kylie shows, managed to get right up front and took a whole bunch of amazing photos. I’m telling you … this show is so damn fun! I am seeing Kylie one.last.time. tonight and I know I’m gonna have a hard time saying goodbye once and for all. The show is just that good. Kylie’s boyfriend Andrés Velencoso was in the hiz last night and it looked like he was having fun, too:

After the Equality March in the day and Kylie last night, I was seriously all gayed out when it was all over. I get to see Kylie one more time tonight and then David and I head back to LA tomorrow. Woot!!

I know there are many of y’all who have still yet to see the show so I won’t spoil anything for those of you who wish to remain unspoiled. I understand that Kylie’s performance last night was a dream come true for her … not only did she explain to the crowd how honored she was to be performing at the Bowl but she also shared her elation on Twitter. KYLIE Minogue says playing live is her therapy against the harsh realities of life. The singer also told how she has now fulfilled a career dream – by performing on the “hallowed ground” at the Hollywood Bowl as part of her first ever US tour. Kylie, who battled breast cancer in 2005, said she finds solace in going on the road and performing for fans. The 41-year-old said: “There is something to be said for the tour bubble. When life’s getting really difficult – ‘Let’s go on tour!’ I didn’t know if I would be able to do any of this and the fact that I can, I love it even more.” Getting emotional in front of thousands of fans at the iconic outdoor arena in Hollywood on Sunday night, she said: “Thank you very very very very very much. “Playing at the Bowl is just beyond words. I can’t believe I’m standing on hallowed ground. And if I think about it too long I’ll get far too emotional.” Others to have played the Hollywood Bowl, in Los Angeles, include THE BEATLES, FRANK SINATRA, BOB DYLAN, THE ROLLING STONES and ELTON JOHN. Speaking in a pre-concert interview, Kylie also said her mum Carol, who she has credited with pulling her through her cancer fight, was an integral part of her road crew. She said: “My mum has been on every tour I’ve done. All the crew – if my mum’s not there, they’ll cry. They love her.”

Just today, Kylie posted the following message on her official Twitter profile:

Last night was such an amazing experience. I felt incredibly honored to be performing at The Hollywood Bowl….it was a dream come true!!

It was a dream come true for her fans as well … everyone in the place was floored. The setlist performed last night included I Should Be So Lucky as part of the finale … it was a very nice surprise :) David, Josh, Tony and I had the time of our lives … it was such an amazing thrill to see Kylie explode on the stage last night. It worked out very well that David’s brother Aram lives here in San Francisco so we were able to kill two birds with one stone. Kylie is known for her amazing on-stage entrances, last night’s was no exception. The show opened with a musical overture and went right into Light Years. Here is video of the last few seconds of her performance:

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue kicked off her first-ever American tour with a driving disco beat, a bevy of well-muscled dancers, and a lot of leg, hoping to finally crack the lucrative U.S. market. The pop diva, no stranger to spectacle, made her first appearance adorned in pink feathers as she was lowered onto the stage from a metallic skull. “Well, good evening — finally!” exclaimed the 41-year-old Grammy-winning singing, who has never toured the United States before. “All this anticipation — on my part!” In a fast-paced, two-hour show, Minogue made her way through her international hits, including “Slow,” “Spinning Around” and “Wow.” But the biggest applause greeted “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” her 2001 club hit. The tour, which began Wednesday night in Oakland outside San Francisco, takes Minogue to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, with one stop in Toronto. Minogue first began her career as an actress on the Australian soap opera “Neighbors,” but was catapulted to fame after her 1987 remake of ’60s hit “Locomotion” hit the top of the charts. Some 10 studio albums have followed and a handful of movies, giving Minogue mega-star status in Britain, Europe and Asia as well as her native Australia. Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 but she returned to performing after recovering from surgery and chemotherapy. In a world tour last year she visited more than 21 countries. Her career also includes a lingerie line, perfumes, linen and a children’s book. But the star, who has a wax image of her likeness in Madame Tussauds, has never quite managed to crack the U.S. market, a notion that seemed incomprehensible to one fan. “Americans are stupid, obviously,” said Dustin Thornhill, 28, of San Francisco, who was at the show with friend Nicky Bangles, 24. The pair planned to see Minogue again in Los Angeles. “We’re stalking her — sort of,” Thornhill said. Like many in the audience, the two said they were thrilled to finally have the opportunity to see Minogue perform. “We’re so excited. We’ve been waiting millions of years,” Bangles said, adding that Minogue is an icon to gay men. “She wears outfits that are amazing. What gay man wouldn’t love it?” Bangles asked, adding, “Madonna who?” To a constantly shifting set of images projected on a video backdrop — including some of well-chiseled men in the shower and others working out with gym equipment — Minogue and her scantily-clad dancers made their way through a series of hits. The singer delivered the sassy fashion she is known for, sporting a host of leg-baring outfits that included silver tunics, black boots, a Nautical cap and a sparkly black leotard. “Kylie’s a diva!” gushed Todd Hedgpeth, 39, of San Francisco. Minogue littlest American fan at the concert may have been Alexis Chiu, 9, who was looking at the T-shirts for sale with her mother, Donna. Why was she at Minogue’s first U.S. tour? “I’ve liked her since I was a baby,” said the youngest Chiu. “She likes that “Na, na, na” song,” explained her mother.

So many US fans have waited so long to finally get to see Kylie perform a proper concert in person … last night was a long time coming and I don’t believe there was a disappointed person in the crowd. I have only seen her in concert once before, on her KylieX2008 Tour last year but I’ve seen every concert performance she’s ever done on DVD. She really did put together a show that featured some great performances from all of those tours into one compact and upbeat show. I don’t even know what my fave song of the night was … they were all spectacular. Kylie did perform a new song titled Better Than Today. She informed us that she wanted to do something special for the US audience “that was a first” and that the song will be featured on her new album!! I LOVED Kylie’s entrance … she descended from the ceiling on a large black and shiny skull, reminiscent of the one she featured in her KylieX2008 Tour last year (but I believe this one was smaller). I’ve been listening to all of my Kylie Minogue music on random in the past few days and I am happy to see that some of my fave songs have made the setlist! I wasn’t sure if Kylie was going to stick more to the old stuff or the new stuff but it looks like this is a nice mix of new and old. I believe that while this is the main setlist, there should still room for surprises for any encores … OY! I’m so excited. I kinda hate myself for looking but … now I know what to look forward to ;)

North American fans of international pop superstar Kylie Minogue will finally get a chance to experience the icon live in concert when her 6-city tour kicks off in Oakland, CA on September 30th (full schedule below). Over the course of her extraordinary 20-year-career, Minogue has been a global force in pop music with more than 40 million albums sold worldwide, 50 hit singles including the U.S. Billboard dance-chart toppers “Can’t Get You Our of My Head,” “Love At First Sight,” “Slow,” and the Grammy-Award winning “Come Into My World,” countless awards and accolades including an OBE from the Queen and 8 sold-out world tours including last year’s KylieX2008 tour which traveled to 21 countries throughout Europe, South America, Dubai, Asia, New Zealand and Australia, generating and estimated $70,000,000 in ticket sales.
