Emma Watson Does ‘Yodona’ Magazine

Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry‘s fave little fashionista is at it again. After appearing appearing in high fashion photospreads for Interview magazine, Crash magazine and being named the new face of Burberry, Emma Watson is featured in the high fashion Spanish magazine Yodona looking quite fetching. Here are a few pics of Emma from the latest issue of the mag:

EMMA WATSON certainly knows how to turn on the magic when there’s a camera about. The Harry Potter star looks sultry and beautiful in these new shots from her modelling agency. And her swept back hair, black make up and short shift dress bring back memories of sixties style icon Twiggy. Another stunning shot of the actress, dressed in a white strapless dress, appeared on the Spanish magazine Yodona. The petit 19-year-old has already picked up a fat paycheque for her new role as the face of Burberry. And she’ll soon have the fashion world under her spell.

I totally agree that if Emma really wants to have a career in modeling, she can have it. I suspect, tho, that all the fashion stuff will take a backseat to her acting career. While I love her as Hermoine Granger in the Harry Potter films, I am very curious to see what she can do with another role. Daniel Radcliffe has proven that he has the ability to portray many challenging roles very well, I’d love to know if Emma can do the same. She still has a couple of Harry Potter films to get thru first … which I suspect will afford her the ability to keep modeling as she sees fit to take on.

Emma Watson Is The New Face Of Burberry

Harry Potter‘s Emma Watson has been turning into quite the little fashion plate lately. First we saw her posing in high fashion couture by Karl Lagerfeld and now we learn that she is featured in the new ad campaign for Burberry … here are a few of the promo pics that feature Miss Watson rockin’ the new Burberry collection:

Well, it’s nicer than her Hogwarts uniform. After weeks of speculation, Emma Watson was today unveiled as the face of Burberry. Photographed by Mario Testino, Watson looks extremely grown up in trench coats from the autumn/winter collection. Despite persistent rumours linking her to Chanel, and her ubiquitous presence at international fashion shows, Burberry is the first major advertising campaign that the 19-year-old Harry Potter star has landed. And it’s predicted the prestigious contract will boost her estimated £8million fortune by six figures. Shot by Mario Testino in Westminster, close to Burberry’s headquarters at Horseferry House, the images capture Watson in a collection inspired by Virginia Woolf and the Bloomsbury set. Burberry’s creative director Christopher Bailey told The Evening Standard: “Having known and admired the lovely Emma Watson for quite some time, she was the obvious choice for this campaign. Emma has a classic beauty, a great character and a modern edge. Her charm, intellect and brilliant sense of fun made the whole shoot feel like a picnic on the Thames.” He added: “I felt Emma would be strong enough to hold the campaign as the only girl, and I loved the idea of her being surrounded by these young, cool British guys.” Watson first appeared as Hermione Granger alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint in Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone in 2001. The sixth film Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince is released on 15 July.

She looks great! I love the way that Emma Watson is growing into a beautifully mature young woman. She seems the perfect choice for major brands to turn when when looking for a celebrity spokesperson. The girl has a level head on her shoulders, she’s good at her craft and she’s got the poise to represent these high end brands. It’s no wonder that the design houses are fighting over her. Keep up the good work, Emma.

Nun sense
Emma Watson Does ‘Crash’ Magazine

Emma Watson, star of the Harry Potter movie franchise and emerging fashion model, is featured in the new issue of the French fashion magazine Crash in a very interesting photoshoot shot by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Here are a couple of Emma‘s, shall we say, fashion-forward looks for the mag:

This is not the first time she’s crossed over from actress to model. In fact, it’s becoming something of a habit. And Emma Watson’s latest photoshoot is the most daring and unusual yet. In one of the pictures, she appears as a ghostly-looking nun, with a veil, white eyebrows and an other-wordly expression on her face. In another, she is considerably less ethereal, wearing an Alexander McQueen bodice-style top and a revealing Vivienne Westwood shirt. The photos were taken for French fashion magazine Crash by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld. The 19-year-old Harry Potter star agreed to the shoot after meeting him at a party. She told the magazine: “This was a dream come true. We spent the whole day together and he can talk about anything – literature, art, science, modern culture. I was totally seduced.” Miss Watson, who took part in a shoot for Italian Vogue last year, is currently filming the first installment of the final Harry Potter film.

Normally, I hate photoshoots like this. Making women look like aliens does nothing for me. But, I do love it when someone like Björk does interesting things with her look, so I guess — for me — it depends on the subject of the photo. That said, I love Emma Watson and I like these odd pics of her. After the jump, check out a few more pics from this shoot — they’re deffo Lagerfeld but, I think, are kinda cool …

Filming Continues On The Set Of ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows’

Yesterday we got our first look at Helena Bonham Carter in the role of Bellatrix Lestrange on the London set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows … and today we get to see a few more pics from the set. This time, we get to see principal stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Emma Watson (Hermoine Granger) chillin’ on the set in between takes … and another photo of Bellatrix being her usual evil self:

There are other more spoilery photos but I don’t want to post too many pics this early in the filming. We’ve got plenty of time to see little teaser pics from the set. Deathly Hallows is going to be an epic film, I can just feel it. The book itself is too huge to be contained by just one movie. The film will prolly be the one Harry Potter movie that will contain almost all of the best bits from the book. Previously, the films had to cut content to fit in the time constraints. This 2 part film will have lots of time to do the final Harry Potter book justice. But … while all of this Hallows talk is very exciting, we still have The Half-Blood Prince to look forward to this Summer. So much Harry Potter!! Woot!

Part I
‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows’ Begins Filming

Now that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is in the can, ready for release this July it’s about time that production got underway on the big screen adaptation of the 7th and final book in the Harry Potter series, The Deathly Hallows. Because the book is so epic is size and scope (at least for a kid’s book) and because the movie studio would like to get as many movies out of the series as possible, Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows will be broken up into two films — part I and part II — to be released over time. Here are a few photos of the three stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermoine Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) on the London streets set of part I of the final film:

While it is very exciting that production is finally underway on the movie(s) version of the final HP book, it’s a bit sad that it’s all coming to an end again. When The Deathly Hallows was released in book form back in 2007, it was met with great enthusiasm as well as great sadness. The finality of the story was bittersweet to many (me included). The release of the special book The Tales of Beadle the Bard was a nice little Harry Potter treat to snack on last Xmas but now that the book series is finished there is nothing really to look forward to anymore. The HP movies, at least, provide that outlet of looking forward … but once these films are finished and released — that’s it. JK Rowling has hinted that she may return to the world of Harry Potter in some way again in the future but I’m not sure I’m ready to hold my breath just yet. As I mentioned before, I’m planning on rereading the entire series in the coming months in order to refresh my memory and get back into the world of Harry Potter again. I am anxious to see The Half-Blood Prince this Summer … and The Deathly Hallows thereafter. Now that production has begun on the Deathly movie(s) it won’t be very long until we’ll be talking about that film in the theaters, too.

Talks about her BFF Karl Lagerfeld
Emma Watson Does ‘Interview’ Magazine

Emma Watson, who plays Hermoine Granger in the Harry Potter films, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Interview magazine. In her coverstory interview, she talks about (among other things) her burgeoning new friendship with fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Whatever in the world could a 75 year old man have in common with a 19 year old girl? Let’s find out … here is Emma‘s Interview mag coverphoto and some of her thoughts on her latest BFF:

Harry Potter’s leading lady Emma Watson has been a fixture on the big screen since her acting debut as Hermione Granger at the tender age of 9. And now a decade later, the 19-year-old is telling Interview magazine all about her transformation from child star to glamour girl. While the young Brit has managed to stay out of the tabloids, she has been the talk of the fashion world, rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s most high-profile tastemakers, including Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld. “We spent the whole day together,” she says, “and he can talk about anything — literature, art, science, modern culture. I was totally seduced. I felt spoiled to be spending so much time with him.” Yet even with her fabulous fashion connections and big-girl paychecks, Emma remains down-to-earth when it comes to shopping. “I don’t really buy designer stuff. I have a few nice things, but I don’t really have the occasion to wear couture too often,” she says. But when those occasions do pop up, Emma calls on her friends. “I’m typically lent something — which means I have to give it back at midnight, like Cinderella.” Although Emma is considering heading to the U.S. for the Ivy League this year, she’s rumored to be starring in an upcoming Burberry ad campaign — so maybe this won’t be the last the fashion world has seen of her.

Just like I totally believe that Daniel Radcliffe is the sort of young actor that will have a long and very successful career in film, so too do I believe that Emma Watson will as well. I’m amazed at how remarkably grounded the Harry Potter kids are (well, except for the odd one or other who gets arrested for pot possession). I absolutely believe Watson when she says that she has no interest in filling her closet with designer items that she’s never wear. The girl is smart and I like that. After the jump, check out a few photos from Emma‘s Interview photospread and see just how stylish this down to Earth girl can be …

The 2009 British Academy Film Awards Are Handed Out

The 2009 British Academy Film Awards (the “UK Oscars“) were handed out at the The Royal Opera House in London, England last night and, to no one’s real surprise, Slumdog Millionaire (the awards show darling this season) took home the award for Best Film (along with 6 other awards) … beating out The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Milk and others. The good news for Benjamin Button is that the film did win two awards (Best Achievement in Special Visual Effects and Best Production Design) but Brad Pitt and his pseudo-wife Angelina Jolie went home empty handed … yet again. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals last night:

Poor Brangelina … they both looked so lost on the red carpet … wandering around like that … methinks the couple may have indulged a bit too much of the bubbly in the limo ride to the awards before they hit the red carpet. Tsk Tsk. I don’t even know what to say about Goldie Hawn … she looked frightfully bad. I mean, yeesh! Penélope Cruz looked beautiful as did Freida Pinto … for the most part, the folks on the red carpet looked stunning … well, except for Goldie. Again, I say, yeesh! After the jump, check out a bunch of photos from the BAFTA press room and find out who won what at last night’s award show
