Emma Watson Does British ‘Elle’ Magazine

"I’ll fade into the background a bit."
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Emma Watson, star of the upcoming Summer movie Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of British Elle magazine. In addition to another fashion forward photospread, Emma talks a bit about the anonymity that she hopes to achieve once she enters college here in the US (it’s rumored she’ll attend classes at Columbia University) after she completes filming the final Harry Potter movie The Deathly Hallows. Here is Emma’s British Elle coverphoto and a portion of her coverstory interview:

It’s hard to imagine Emma Watson ever fading into the background – but according to the Harry Potter actress that’s exactly what she wants to do. The 19-year-old is busy preparing for the end of the Harry Potter franchise and her start at U.S. university Columbia in September. And, despite her worldwide fame, she has revealed she hopes to be just another ‘anonymous’ student. “I’m so excited. Living in London, it’s hard to be anonymous,” she told Elle magazine. “But hopefully, on some campus somewhere, I’ll fade into the background a bit.” But if the photos accompanying the article are anything to go by, fashion fan Emma will stand out wherever she goes. The rock chick-style shoot shows her with backcombed hair and dramatic eye makeup, showing off her figure in leggings, heels and space-age suits. Emma, who lives with a flatmate in Hampstead, had considered taking up a place at Cambridge University, after receiving straight As in her A’levels. But she reveals: ‘I’m very aware that with Cambridge, people would find that interesting. “Cambridge is so high profile in itself and then, on top of that, people don’t really go out in Cambridge because it’s so small, so I’ll be going out in London and then that’s just the same thing. I definitely am attracted to the States for that reason.” With the end of filming on the Harry Potter series of eight films, Emma will be saying goodbye to her ’second family’ on the Watford set. “It’s going to sound dramatic, but I feel like it’s going to be my life over as I know it,” she said. “My whole life has been about Harry Potter and then all of that will shut down and I don’t know what it will be like. I go to university in September – I’ll be doing bits and bobs at Christmas, but September feels like my cut-off point, the moment when I’ll really stop.” And, having already banked more than £10 million, Emma isn’t certain she will return to acting. “At the moment I feel like I need to go away and figure out what I want to do and be myself for a bit,” she said. “Does that sound strange? I just want to take a step back from it and not rush into stuff. I need university to give me that break. People think because I’m going to university I’m never going to act again, but it’s actually me. I want to figure out how I feel about everything first. Maybe I’ll keep acting, maybe I won’t. I just want to find something where I feel I have to do this. Maybe that’ll happen when I read a script. It felt like that with Hermione. I want to feel like that again.” But if that doesn’t happen Emma already has another career in mind – she says she would enjoy being a make-up artist.

Um … or a fashion model! OK, mebbe not a model for real but she does rock these hot outfits right. After the jump, check out a few of Emma’s photos from this issue of British Elle magazine …

Kylie Minogue Does British ‘Elle’ Magazine

Admits to botox use
Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Aussie hotness Kylie Minogue is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of British Elle magazine and in her coverstory interview she comes clean about her use of botox. Meh. Who hasn’t? Here is Kylie’s British Elle cover and a portion of her coverstory interview:

Her smooth forehead and flawless complexion have been the subject of years of speculation. But Kylie Minogue has finally admitted one of the worst-kept secrets in showbiz – that she has had Botox. She also hinted she may have dabbled in other procedures to keep her looking young. The 40-year-old told Elle magazine: ‘I’ve tried Botox, I’ve tried them all. She added: “I’m definitely not one of those people who says, ‘You shouldn’t do this.’ Everyone can individually do what they want. For all time women have wanted to, for the most part, look their best. It’s just that what we have available to us today is what it is today and if you want to take advantage of it, yeah.” But the Breathe singer implied she may be about to let nature take its course. “I’m preferring to be a lot more natural these days,” she said. The petite pop star, who underwent a six-month course of chemotherapy and a year’s convalescence after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, said she is only now getting comfortable with her body. “I’ve got fat ankles under these boots but I think my body in many ways is better now for having weight on it. When I look back at some pictures, especially from before I was diagnosed, I just think: ‘That’s too thin. that doesn’t look good. That just doesn’t look right.’” Perhaps her new-found body confidence comes from her relationship with Spanish model Andres Velencoso, who is 10 years her junior. Of their relationship, Kylie revealed: “All I’ll say is that my year has started off wonderfully!”

Botox or no botox, Kylie is still amazing. I, for the life of me, could never willingly let anyone inject my face with chemicals but I suppose if I were a hugely successful popstar who lives their life on the world’s stage, I might be able to be convinced to give it a try. At least she’s being honest … the woman can do no wrong in my eyes, I just love her. After the jump, check out a few more photos from her Elle mag photospread along with a behind the scenes video of her photoshoot …

Jennifer Aniston Does British ‘Elle’ Magazine

"I don't owe anybody my side of the story"
Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Jennifer Aniston is featured on the cover and in the pages of the April issue of British Elle magazine which, the magazine contends, is her first UK interview in over 2 years. Of course British Elle magazine asks her the expected questions about her ex-husband Brad Pitt but, unsurprisingly, she offers no new information to the magazine … in fact, she flat out refuses to offer any information at all … at least on the Brad Pitt front. Here is Jen’s coverphoto for the UK mag and a portion of her coverstory interview:

ELLE’s Avril Mair speaks exclusively to Jennifer Aniston about everything from her body to Brad. “No matter what I say, things will always be taken out of context and misinterpreted, will always be turned around to make it seem as though I won’t let something go, or that I just keep talking about it over and over. I don’t owe anybody anything. I don’t owe anybody my side of the story. There are no sides! There is no bad guy and there is no good guy. There are no villains and there is no heroine in this story. It’s just not the case.” Jennifer Aniston finally sets the record straight. She’s moved on, and is happier than ever. “I remind myself every day that I am lucky. Look what’s out there. Look what people are really living through. There’s no comparison. I am happy” reveals the actress who turned forty last month, but looks a decade younger with the help of Neutrogena soap, regular facials and an obsession with applying sunscreen. “I’m a realist,” she says. “I know that if I eat nothing but burgers and chips, I’m not going to be hired for the parts I normally would. That might be fine one day, but not right now.” And right now she playing the lead opposite Owen Wilson in Marley and Me, a film that has already proved a smash hit in the U.S. Though romantic comedies are her bread and butter Jennifer tells ELLE she’s love to get more physical in a film, “I get offered funny, quirky, pretty roles,” she says, with a slight roll of the eyes. “I’d love to do an action movie. James Bond! Glamour! Daniel Craig! Shit-loads of fun!” With her bikini body, surely its only a matter of time.

Hahahaha! I love how disinterested she looks on the cover … you can really tell that she wanted to do this interview. I mean, I guess I don’t blame her for clamming up about her ex-husband. It must be terribly frustrating to constantly be tied to your ex-husband and his new family. At least she could pretend that she cares tho. I guess what I don’t understand is how a person can continue to court the public’s favor in order to promote a new project but in the process of the promoting look as if you’d rather be somewhere else … or, even worse, get pissed off when public actually pays attention to your every move. Celebs can be so funny sometimes. In any event, this issue of Elle magazine goes on sale in the UK on Wednesday. Interested Brits lookin’ to read more pearls of wisdom from Ms. Aniston might want to take note. I, for one, think I’ve heard enough.

You gotta admit, she cleans up well
Monday, December 8th, 2008

Last week we saw a few pics of Courtney Love on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of British Elle magazine … today we get to check out a few more pics from her pretty stylish spread:

You gotta admit … she does look great in these pics. The woman might be a mess under normal circumstances and her blogposts are usually incomprehensible mindfucks but when she cleans up, she cleans up well. Good on ya, Courtney! I’d like to see more of this and less of, well, your usual.

Courtney Love Does British ‘Elle’ Magazine

Giving credit where credit is due
Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

America’s favorite trainwreck blogger Courtney Love is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of British Elle magazine (if you can believe that). In her coverstory interview, Courtney happily takes credit for the fact that she paved the way for younger starlets like Britney Spears to successfully weather public melt/break-downs because, you know, she C. Love so successfully weathered them herself … or something. Here is Courtney’s (pretty amazing, if I do say so myself) coverphoto:

Courtney Love says she set the stage for Britney Spears’ public breakdown with her own erratic behaviour. Kurt Cobain’s outspoken widow said: “I had a long, hard fall. I set the stage for Britney to crash and burn. “I went through it all first.” The Hole singer and actress has been through a catalogue of disasters, including the suicide of her Nirvana frontman husband, drug addiction, arrests, custody battles, jail sentences, disastrous plastic surgery, weight issues and jail terms. However, she now claims to be in control of her body image and addictions. During a frank interview for Elle magazine she reveals she tried to get a gastric band fitted but her doctor wouldn’t allow it. “If I could get a gastric band I would!” she says. “I did go to see a Hollywood doctor about it. I wasn’t desperate, I just knew I had to do something. He said no. I might have been fat, but I wasn’t that fat. I tried lipo on my stomach after that. It was horrible and it didn’t work.” The 44-year-old also remarks on her drastic weight loss recently. “I knew I had to eat more because I was scary,” she continues. “I lost my tits, I lost my ass. My stomach was really loose and saggy because I hadn’t done any exercise to lose the weight, I simply hadn’t eaten.”

The coverstory goes on to discuss how Courtney finally opened to her daughter Frances Bean about her rampant heroin use among other such lovely topics absolutely suitable for a fashion magazine of this magnitude. Honestly, I’m amazed that Court has anything new to offer that she hasn’t already dished about (in her own incoherent way) on her My Space blog. After the jump, check out a few more photos of Courtney Love from this new issue of British Elle magazine — and be prepared for a shock, Courtney actually looks pretty amazing in the pics …
