While there were a lot of pretty people on the red carpet (Alyson Hannigan looked amazing, as did Drew Barrymore) the real focus of the night was on who won what for which TV show. After starting with 16 nominations, “Mad Men” won just three Emmy Awards at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night — but one of them was the big one, best drama series. The AMC show about ad agency executives in early 1960s Manhattan often competed against itself, particularly in the category of episode writing, where it had four of the five possible nominations. “Mad Men” also won best drama last year. “30 Rock” won best comedy at Sunday’s awards. The show won five Emmys overall. “We want to thank our friends at NBC … for keeping us on the air, even though we are so much more expensive than a talk show,” said star Tina Fey in accepting the honor. Glenn Close won best actress in a drama for her performance in “Damages,” but she turned her speech into praise for her colleagues. “I want to salute what I call my ‘category sisters,’ ” she said. “I respect you, and I’m inspired by your talent.” She also paid tribute to the show’s writers. Bryan Cranston of AMC’s “Breaking Bad” won his second straight Emmy as best actor in a drama. “I don’t know what I’m doing up here,” he said. “I feel like Cinderfella. … I stand here a humbled man.” Alec Baldwin won best actor in a comedy series for his performance in “30 Rock.” Toni Collette (”The United States of Tara”) won best actress in a comedy. Collette’s win was a mild surprise, as Tina Fey, of “30 Rock,” was considered a heavy favorite.

The thing that stuck me the most about the show was how much camaraderie was being tossed about … from everyone to everyone else. Heaps of praise was laid upon Neil Patrick Harris’s performance as Emmy host and the winners kept congratulating others … it was really nice to see. Now, just because Drew was with Justin at lunch and just because he was showing off a pretty heinous-looking hickey on his neck doesn’t necessarily mean that she is responsible for the love bite … but it sure looks suspicious to me. I think it’s great that the couple are spending so much time together again. I loved them when they were together and I really hope they rekindle their romance for real and get back together. While I find hickeys totally unsavory and absolutely unnecessary, I guess I can’t really fault Justin for letting “whoever” leave their mark on him. Get it together guys, we’re all rooting for you!

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long are not shy with their admiration for one another. “I adore him,” Barrymore, who wore a retro flesh-tone Alberta Feretti gown to the premiere of her HBO movie Grey Gardens, said of Long. “And I thank God that my friend supports me the way he does.” The off-again, on-again pair were affectionate the night of the premiere Tuesday. During the screening, she leaned over her seat to give him a quick smooch. At the movie’s after-party at the Pierre hotel, Long, 30, and Barrymore, 34, posed for photos together. Later inside the hotel, she dragged Long into the dining room while holding his hand and gave him a long embrace, whispering into his ear. Michael Suscy, who directed Grey Gardens, told PEOPLE that during the filming of the movie Barrymore “would correspond with [Justin], but only by writing letters on a typewriter – no modern technology, only technology that her character, Little Edie would have had.” Barrymore … said the old-fashioned letters, which she wrote on an avocado green IBM Selectric typewriter, helped her work through her jitters about the part. “Thank God for him because he was my wonderful outlet, my dear friend throughout the process … I had to understand what isolation was really like.” As for the subject of the letters, “They were about my fears of not being able to pull this character off, this icon, about learning a level of discipline … about facing your fears,” she said. According to Long, Barrymore had nothing to worry about. “I’m so proud and stunned. It’s unbelievable. She lost herself completely. It’s an amazing, beautiful, transformative performance. She’s one of the greats.”

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, sure sounds romantic to me. I mean, yes, ex-lovers can be friends after a break-up but … I dunno. Anyways, here is what Drew said about the time she has been/will be spending with Justin:

Drew was spotted at the “Grey Gardens” premiere with ex-boyfriend Justin Long on Tuesday night. The actress confirmed the two are back together, but only for the movie! She revealed, “I’m going to do a comedy this summer with my dear friend Justin Long and I can’t wait to just laugh.” Drew continued, “He really is [one of the funniest guys I know]. I wanted to do it because I trust him so much.”

It’s funny how friendship can lead back to love, especially in situations where people have to work together. Even if the couple aren’t aware that they might be falling back in love, that’s exactly what could be happening. I have no doubt that Justin is still in love with Drew. I’d bet money on it. Here’s hoping that, one day, Drew and Justin can re-forge the love that they shared just last year. There is something about this couple that I just love … they make a really cute couple, don’t you think?

As you may recall, Drew and Justin broke up way back in July of last year after a pretty significant courtship together. Something about the couple always seemed like they were a good fit for one another. Not long after the breakup, Justin was linked to Kirsten Dunst and Drew set her sights on the Gossip Girls guys — but none of that never really seemed right. I’m encouraged that all these months later the couple appear to, at the very least, still be friendly with one another. I’d be happy to see them couple up again. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if anything comes of this supposed reunion. Do y’all like these two together? They look cute together, no?

As Summit Entertainment looks to lock in a director for the third installment of the Twilight series, Eclipse, the company is talking to a select group of directors — including actress-turned-helmer Drew Barrymore, EW has learned. While this news may come as a surprise to some, Barrymore did just finish work on her directorial debut, Whip It! starring Ellen Page. Neither Summit nor Barrymore’s reps would comment for this story.

Interesting. It remains to be seen who else is in this “select group of directors” under consideration but I hope that, like Drew, there are a few female directors in there. As you may or may not know, Drew’s production company made the new Charlie’s Angels movies that those turned out pretty cool. I have no idea what kind of job Drew might do as director of a movie like Eclipse but … I’d be willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. It sure does seem like a whole lot of Hollywood folks want to get their fingers in the Twilight Saga movie franchise pie … which kinda sorta worries me. What do y’all think?

OMFG. Last night at Webster Hall, the main event proved not to be the performance by Kings of Leon but the intense makeout sesh we witnessed between Drew Barrymore and Ed Westwick, a.k.a. Chuck Bass. We’d seen the pictures of Chace Crawford and Barrymore leaving the Saturday Night Live after-party the other night, but we never imagined it was a ruse to cover up her steamy affair with Chuck Bass. Following last night’s show, Westwick, wearing leather pants and pointed shoes, accompanied Barrymore to the after-party at Bowery Electric where the pair continued their PDA. Barrymore even straddled Bass — um, we mean Westwick — in a move not dissimilar to that time Serena did it with Nate on the bar. To be honest, the whole thing kind of hurt our eyes a bit, not least because at 33, Drew is definitely the Catharine to 21-year-old Westwick’s Marcus. Needless to say, he could barely conceal his smug satisfaction all night — and left wearing the same half-smile Chuck did after he bagged Blair that fateful night in season one.

Waitaminute … Ed was smug about bagging Drew? Shouldn’t it be the other way around? In any event, I’m sure a good time was had by all … especially Drew Barrymore, who went from Justin “The Mac Guy” Long to 2, count ‘em 2, Gossip Girl guys in one week. Well done … well done, indeed.

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have broken up, her rep confirms to PEOPLE. “I can confirm the split with no additional comment,” said the spokesperson. Barrymore, 33, and Long, 30, were first linked in August of last year, when they were spotted at the Los Angeles hotspot the Chateau Marmont. By November, the pair – who costar together in He’s Just Not That Into You – were getting serious. They spent a PDA-packed holiday in Connecticut, including Thanksgiving with Long’s family in his hometown of Fairfield. In the following months, the couple seemed inseparable, partying in Vegas, celebrating Barrymore’s birthday with Cameron Diaz in Los Angeles and hiking in Hollywood. In the March issue of Vogue, Barrymore said of the relationship, “My cheeks hurt, I’m so happy.”

According to a source that talked to US Weekly, the couple remain friends. This is bummer news … I really like Justin Long. He seems like a really nice guy. I’m not sure I’m all that surprised that things didn’t work out tho, the woman was once married to Tom Green … something must be a bit off with her, right? In any event, I wish them both well as they go their separate ways. I feel bad for the Mac Guy … I’m afraid he might’ve peeked with Drew.
