Dina Lohan, mother of the currently rehabbing Lindsay Lohan who enjoyed a visit with her estranged father over the weekend, made an appearance on The Today Show on NBC earlier today to give a follow-up interview from the last time she appeared on The Today Show to talk about the last time Lindsay was in rehab. As you can imagine, Dina‘s interview was pretty bad but, in all honesty, it wasn’t as horrendous as the interview she did back in August. There was a wide range of topics discusses in this interview, including Dina‘s assertion that Lindsay hopes to one day open a rehab center of her own for troubled youth:

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan plans to open her own rehab facilities once she’s completed her drug treatment, according to her mother DINA. The 24-year-old Mean Girls star is currently serving three months at the Betty Ford Clinic in California after failing two mandatory drug tests in September and violating her probation. But the stint is working wonders for Lohan and, during an appearance on America’s The Today Show on Monday, her mum hailed the treatment as a “life-changing” experience for her daughter. It is Lohan’s fifth time in rehab. And the matriarch revealed the actress wants to found her own facility upon her release in January to benefit at-risk children. Dina Lohan said: “She wants to start her own facilities, help other children. She’s so public, we can only be positive and look to the future to help other families.”

This is absolutely the biggest bunch of bullshizz I have ever heard in my life. The idea that Lindsay Lohan would EVER have anything to do with the successful rehabilitation of anyone is beyond comical … it’s actually more delusional than anything else. It’s as if Dina Lohan is physically incapable of saying anything worth listening to. I can’t even … I mean … INSANITY! On Thursday we learned of a report that made the claim that Dina Lohan, mother of the currently rehabbing Lindsay Lohan, was trying to sell a reality TV show about her daughter’s rehabilitation at the Betty Ford Center. Dina categorically denied that she was trying to sell a reality TV show. Today we learn that Dina isn’t actually trying to shop a TV show, she is actually trying to shop her first interview with the media about her daughter’s rehabilitation … and she’s reportedly asking for five figures:

TMZ has learned Lindsay Lohan’s sainted mother Dina is shopping around an interview for after she visits Lindsay in rehab this weekend … and the asking price is in the five figures. We’re told Dina is trying to set up a deal that would include allowing cameras to film her as she went to the Betty Ford Center this weekend. Some reports have suggested that Dina is pitching a reality show based on the ordeal, but we’re told that’s not true. Our sources say Dina is asking “in the high five figures” for the interview. We’re told none of the proceeds will go to charity.

Yeah, even tho I wouldn’t put it past Dina Lohan to try and sell a TV show about her daughter’s rehab struggles, I wasn’t completely convinced that that was her plan. The woman may be fame and money-hungry but she’s not a total moron. The idea of selling a single interview, tho, makes a lot more sense. Dina can deny that she is trying to sell the interview but I am 1000% convinced that she WILL give an interview about her visit with Lindsay in rehab this weekend and whether she admits it or not, I’m pretty certain she will be paid for the interview. As for ex-hubby Michael Lohan, well, since no one will pay him a penny for an interview about anything … I think he’ll still be trying to worm his way into the Betty Ford Center to try and get a glimpse of his daughter … which he will prolly photograph and then try to sell. With parents like these, Lindsay Lohan is just doomed.

Yesterday we heard a cute story about Lindsay Lohan — currently rehabbing at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA — trying to escape the grounds of the rehab center so that she could score a bottle of Coca-Cola (which L. Lo‘s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley is today debunking). Today we hear about a story that is just so gross … I can’t even wrap my head around it. There is a new report out that makes the claim that Lindsay‘s mother, Dina Lohan, is trying to turn her daughter’s much publicized stint in rehab into a money-making venture. According to this new report, Dina is not only trying to orchestrate the exclusive sale of paparazzi photographs of Lindsay and her family inside the Betty Ford Center but is also trying to shop footage of Lindsay in rehab … to be turned into a reality TV show!

Dina Lohan is allegedly shopping a new reality show pegged to her daughter Lindsay’s current trip to rehab. Lindsay is currently undergoing treatment at The Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, she is being treated for an addiction to cocaine. According to Kickster, Dina is planning for an upcoming visit with Lindsay and is allegedly hoping to sell photos of the trip (which her other kids Michael Jr., 22, Ali, 16, and Cody, 13, will be present for). “Not only has Dina been ‘shopping’ around her upcoming trip to visit Lindsay in rehab at Betty Ford… to media outlets for the sale of pictures BUT she is doing it to develop a new REALITY SHOW!”,” a source told the site … “She can’t get a show about her own life, so she’s using Lindsay’s troubles to get her a reality show,” Michael told RadarOnline.com.

I want to clarify that this report is mere rumor at this point, there is no proof (outside of nameless “sources”) that Dina is actually doing these things BUT I absolutely believe that Dina Lohan would do these sorts of things. There has been much talk about the Lohan family’s dwindling money supplies since Lindsay‘s legal woes got serious … and it’s pretty common knowledge that Dina is not the best mother out there. So, yeah, altho this report is unsubstantiated … I very sadly believe it has at least some merit. Gross.

As we are all well aware, Lindsay Lohan has been rehabbing herself at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA while she awaits her next court appearance on October 22 to answer for her most recent probation violation due to 2 failed drug tests. TMZ is reporting that Lindsay has been making huge breakthroughs in her rehab therapy and has come to realize the source of her life’s woes … namely, her father Michael Lohan:

Lindsay Lohan is doing a lot of thinking at Betty Ford, and she’s already reached one big conclusion — she’s in the mess she’s in largely because of daddy Michael Lohan. Some of Lindsay’s friends and relatives tell us … LiLo is spending a lot of time talking to counselors about the path that led her to drug and alcohol addiction. And she’s convinced the nightmare of growing up in such a dysfunctional family has taken its toll. Lindsay repeatedly talks about allegations Dina made in her divorce papers … that Michael abused her. Lindsay says she witnessed it firsthand, and it’s still tough to deal with. In particular, Lindsay claims she had to step in and protect her mother from Michael. Michael has denied allegations of physical abuse. Our sources say Lindsay talks a lot about growing up with a dad who was periodically behind bars. Add to that — she moved out to L.A. at a very young age, with almost no parental supervision.

Not so fast, says estranged daddy Michael Lohan. According to him, he is not solely to blame for Lindsay‘s mess of a life … he believes that much of that blame belongs to mommy Dina Lohan as well:

Michael Lohan is lashing out at claims he’s the root of Lindsay Lohan’s problems — what with the violence, prison stints and general bad behavior. Michael tells TMZ … Dina was violent as Lindsay was growing up, and it left an impression. Michael claims when Lindsay was 4 years old, Dina was arguing with his mom and Dina allegedly smashed a phone across grandma’s face, requiring six stitches. And Michael says, on another occasion — when Lindsay was a teenager — Dina went nuts on Michael, flew over two beds to get to him and accidentally knocked herself out. Michael adds it was Dina’s idea to leave Lindsay in Hollywood at a very young age, even though LiLo had a stalker.

I personally believe that both Lindsay and Michael are right … BOTH of her parents are to blame for her woes. It’s only because Lindsay is close to her mother (who, I believe, enables her reckless behavior … which L. Lo mistakes for love and support) that she is not able to see that she has suffered due to the actions of both of her parents. I gotta say, tho, that the scales to tip toward Michael Lohan more considering he’s a former jailbird. As much as Lindsay is responsible for her own illegal actions (and should be punished for those actions), I do feel a twinge of sympathy at the notion of being raised by Dina and Michael Lohan. If she truly wants to clean up her life, she’s gonna have to do it without the influence of either toxic parent. Ugh.

Despite the best efforts of Judge Elden Fox to try and exert his judicial powers by attempting to force Lindsay Lohan to endure a 30 day jail sentence by remanding her to jail without bail on a misdemeanor charge, Appeals Judge Patricia Schnegg has overturned Judge Fox‘s ruling and ordered that Lindsay MUST be allowed to post bail for her misdemeanor infraction. As a result, just hours after L. Lo was processed, booked and mug shot at Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, CA yesterday morning, Lindsay Lohan was freed on bail late last night:

Judge Schnegg ruled that, “as a matter of right”, Lindsay must be afforded the same opportunity to post bail on a misdemeanor charge and (10% of) $300,000. later she is, once again a free woman:

So … in the past few hours since we learned that Lindsay Lohan was denied bail by Judge Elden Fox and was immediately remanded into jail for the next 30 days — with NO HOPE for early release — until her next court hearing on October 22, Lindsay has been pretty bizzy. But before we get to that, let’s check out a few new things from this morning’s court hearing that resulted in Lindsay‘s immediate incarceration. Because there were no cameras or cellphones allowed in the courtroom this morning, the scene inside had to be sketched by courtroom sketch artists Mona Shafer Edwards (who has previously sketched Lindsay‘s court appearances) and Bill Robles. Here is what the scene looked like inside the courtroom this morning, including the moment when Lindsay, with her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley by her side, was handcuffed and led away to jail, thru the art of Ms. Edwards and Mr. Robles:

After Judge Fox slapped down Lindsay HARD in the courtroom, her media hungry parents made their way out of the courthouse to face the throng of cameras … surprisingly, mama Dina Lohan had nothing to say as she left the building with a plastic bag full of Lindsay‘s things in hand. Papa Michael Lohan, on the other hand, called a press conference to rage against the unfairness of incarcerating his criminal-prone daughter with a 17-year old chico ‘stached preacher by his side:

I don’t even want to waste any further time talking about the Lohan parents … they are despicable people and, IMHO, are 2 of the main reasons why Lindsay Lohan is the way she is … a drug-addled mess.

Lindsay Lohan, who dyed her hair blonde in the weeks leading up to her incarceration in jail and then, subsequently, in rehab, has decided to get back to her roots and dye her hair red again … she showed off her new old look a couple of days ago on her most recent visit to check in with her probation officer in Santa Monica, CA. Afterward, it is being reported, Lindsay showed up at the Nokia Theater where preparations were underway for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards which is set to air LIVE on MTV tonight at 9pm ET/PT. At first, it was assumed that Lindsay would be attending the VMAs this year but it now sounds like she merely taped a video appearance for the show … because Friday she popped up in NY to visit her family:

She’s been attempting to resurrect her failing career after a stint in prison, followed by a stay in court-ordered rehab. And what better way to step back into the spotlight than at a big awards ceremony? Reports suggest that Lindsay Lohan will make an appearance on stage at tomorrow’s MTV Video Music Awards being held at the Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles. Lohan, 24, was spotted at the venue yesterday during rehearsals for the show which is due to include performances by Kanye West, Mary J Blige and Justin Bieber. She will even address, in some manner, her recent news making troubles with the law according to E! Online. Chelsea Handler, who is hosting the awards said this week that she would love for Lohan to be at the ceremony. ‘That would make for a lot of material,’ said the comedienne who has consistently targeted the Lohan family in jokes on her chat show, Chelsea Lately. Lindsay, who has recently reverted back to her original red hair colour, was sentenced to serve 90 days in county jail after violating her probation conditions from a 2007 arrest for driving under the influence. She ended up serving just 13 days before being sent to the UCLA medical center for court ordered residential rehabilitation where she stayed for 23 days. Before heading to the Nokia Theatre for rehearsals Lindsay went to a scheduled appointment with her probation officer where she was expected to carry out a drug urine test at the Santa Monica courthouse.

Yes, all of this VMAs appearance talk was going around BEFORE a new photo was made available by TMZ that shows that Lindsay has already left SoCal and made her way to the East Coast to visit with her family there. In Touch Weekly magazine is reporting in this week’s new issue that Lindsay Lohan is telling friends that she is ready to be a mother. Now, before you choke to death on all that laughing you’re prolly doing right now, let’s just entertain the notion that this report might be true (in some strange parallel universe) and just read on for the entertainment value, shall we?

Despite her recent legal issues — and recent reports that while driving she allegedly clipped a stroller with a toddler in it — Lindsay Lohan wants to be a mom! The star has confided to a pal that she’s determined to stay sober and thinks the best way for her to achieve that goal is to get pregnant. According to the pal, Lindsay, 24, hates being alone and thinks a baby would make the perfect companion. She’s seen what motherhood has done for former party girl Nicole Richie and thinks it can do the same for her. “She needs to be around someone nearly 24 hours a day,” the pal says. “She thinks having a baby could straighten out her life.”

While it’s true that Lindsay has — for the most part — been behaving herself ever since she was released from jail/rehab, I think it’s a bit INSANE to even entertain for a second the idea of Lindsay Lohan becoming a mother. After all, let’s not forget the way she was raised by her own mother Dina Lohan:

Yesterday we learned that Dina Lohan, fame hungry mother of the currently rehabbing Lindsay Lohan, gave a pretty horrendous interview on The Today Show where she was asked to talk about her daughter’s troubles with the law and with substance abuse and she, instead, used the platform to blame everybody BUT Lindsay for her woes. In response, Lindsay‘s equally fame hungry estranged father (and ex-husband to Dina) Michael Lohan is speaking out to counter Dina‘s comments on the Today Show. I hate to admit it but I actually agree with the man for once:

“I think Dina needs the rehab for her denial, lies and other ‘things’. It was one lie after another. Dina was never a Rockette and her mother was NEVER on a soap or radio (show me where) … my son is NOT doing a movie Dina is producing. Linds needs Family therapy with Dina and me. Something that has been recommended by professionals for years but Dina won’t. It’s all about money and controlling Lindsay and my kids to Dina when she has failed miserably and it should be about our childrens well being. Dina and I caused this and WE need to fix it (AS PARENTS). It’s sad that Dina would continue on this course at the risk our children and God she does try to stop me from seeing then. I do and have seen them recently, but I might have to bring her back to court and even CPS, as I have court ordered visitation and Dina neglects our other minor children. Dina needs the rehab. And maybe jail would “suit” her. The only thing Dina got right in the interview is, “NOTHING HAS CHANGED”. To that I agree. As long as Dina is in denial, if Lindsay comes out on ANY prescription drugs, if Dina AND Lindsay associate themselves with any of the same people and if WE don’t get family therapy. MY Bet is, this was only a band aid.”

As much as I loathe Michael Lohan and pretty much everything he stands for, I have to say that I wholeheartedly agree with a couple of Michael‘s comments here. Yes, absolutely, both he and Dina “caused” Lindsay‘s initial troubles and yes, they need to do everything they can to fix it. I also agree that Dina might benefit from rehab herself … tho, I too would LOVE to see her thrown in jail for being a bad parent … that is very unlikely to happen. It pains me to think that Lindsay may get out of her court-ordered 90 day rehab stint early because she will just be released back into the toxic and dangerous environment that is another cause of her problems. Dina Lohan, the mother of Lindsay Lohan who never met a camera she didn’t like, was a featured guest this morning on The Today Show where she was invited to talk about her daughter’s current legal woes, including her current 90 day stint in court-ordered rehab. Dina, being Dina, seemed thrilled at the opportunity to appear on national television. In her interview, a very scattered Dina tried to deflect the pointed questions asked of her by Matt Lauer and instead seemed only interested in talking about how Judge Marsha Revel recused herself as the judge in Lindsay’s case … as if blaming the judge was enough to negate all of Lindsay‘s crimes and her substance abuse addiction. Dina Lohan is a piece of work, I’ll tell you that. Here are a few screencaps from Dina‘s appearance on The Today Show and some deets about what she said:

An argumentative Dina Lohan – placing the blame on the judge no longer on the case and staunchly defending the behavior of her daughter Lindsay Lohan – appeared on Friday’s Today show, declaring there was nothing wrong with her child. “I’m not condoning drinking and driving, but she’s still paying the price for what she did in 2007,” said an often-agitated Dina, 47, referring to Lindsay’s two DUI cases from three years ago. As for Lindsay, 24, today, “She’s changed,” says her mother. “She’s grown up considerably.” Asked what accounted for this change, Dina told Today’s Matt Lauer, “Age. Living life. Knowing life. Growing up.” For now Lindsay is in inpatient treatment, but the District Attorney’s spokeswoman Jane Robison told PEOPLE Thursday she may get released “earlier than the 90 days” ordered. “It’s up to the judge to amend the court order or to send her to a new program. There are no standing court dates in Lohan’s case. There would have to be a hearing first to amend the judge’s orders,” Robison explained. Repeatedly accusing Judge Marsha Revel of “going overboard” and “playing hardball” by ordering Lindsay to jail for 90 days (she served 13) and into rehab, Dina said that information will be coming out next week showing that the jurist had to remove herself from the case before she was about to be fired. Defending Lindsay, who was at the Cannes Film Festival when she was expected in court in Los Angeles for a progress review, Dina said, “She was in [jail] for just missing a couple of classes and was working at the time.” In addition, Dina noted, by Lindsay’s being behind bars, “She missed driving classes.” The actress also came into personal contact with murderers, said her mother, adding, “She made friends with them.” Pressed about her daughter’s problems, Dina said, “That’s all propaganda,” and called tabloid coverage of Lindsay “pre-orchestrated. You’re reading things that are not based on fact.” Unlike Julia Roberts and other stars, said Dina, Lindsay’s behavior is unfairly scrutinized. “Her life is magnified. Her life is under a microscope … Lindsay doesn’t realize a lot of people are watching her.” Asked if she’s been there for her daughter – after a visibly frustrated Lauer first suggested that Dina, ex-husband Michael Lohan and Lindsay’s friends “have done nothing to help Lindsay” – Dina said that part of a parent’s responsibility is to grant a child her freedom. “When she was 19 and went out to Los Angeles,” said Dina, “I had to let her go.” Moving forward, however, Dina said Lindsay will be coming home to New York. For now, in rehab, “She’s great,” said Dina. “She’s been through a lot.”

For most of her young life, Lindsay Lohan has tried to blame other people for her crimes and mistakes … and it it plainly evident now where she learned such destructive behavior. Not once did Dina try to suggest that her daughter, convicted in 2007 for drunk driving, is at all responsible for her crimes. Not once did Dina even look concerned that her self-admitted substance-addicted daughter was going to be released early from a medical facility charged with saving her life … on the contrary, Dina seemed thrilled that her daughter might be released early. It is my humble opinion that Dina Lohan‘s enabling behavior may lead to her daughter’s ultimate destruction … it just grosses me out ENTIRELY.
