Dannii Minogue was on hand in the UK this weekend host (and possibly accept an award on behalf of her TV series X-Factor) the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards UK … naturally, the folks at Nickelodeon took the opportunity to dump gallons of slime on the lovely Ms. Minogue:

Dannii was coated in the gunk as she hosted the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards UK today at London’s Excel centre. In her purple and silver frock and designer heels Kylie’s little sister looked every inch the glamorous pop star when she arrived at the event. But onstage her composure was shattered when a pool of green sludge rained down on her. The 36-year-old screamed and raised her clenched fists in horror, before setting her jaw in a clenched scowl. Ironically when Dannii had earlier told reporters that she hoped to see fellow X Factor judge Simon Cowell get gunged. “I’d slime Simon of course,” she said. “But could he handle it? Or would we finally see Mr Nasty lose his cool on TV? We’ll have to wait and see.” The X Factor is up for a gong at the awards, which will be screened air on September 20. It faces Doctor Who, Britain’s Got Talent and Harry Hill’s TV Burp for Favourite Winner prize.

Now, y’all know that Dannii is my girl so I had to take the opportunity to spread the word about her slimy weekend ;) This country is seriously devoid of Minogueness so there is no chance that I’ll be able to watch Dannii’s hosting performance when the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards airs in the UK later on this month … I guess I’ll have to make do with these amazingly fun pics ;)

There were a few rumors going around that X Factor judges Dannii Minogue and Sharon Osbourne weren’t the best of friends when they worked together on the show but now that Sharon has been replaced with Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, things appear to be hunky-dory for all involved. Here are a few pics of a happy-looking Dannii making her way into an X Factor meeting in the UK today where, no doubt, she enjoyed a much less drama-filled work environment:

t wouldn’t be X Factor without a few scraps between judges. But there was no sign of reported tension as Dannii Minogue arrived for the show’s launch. Looking radiant in a cute strapless dress and fabulous pink shoes, the Australian popstar was all smiles for the camera. There have been reports of underlying strain between Dannii, 36, and newcomer Cheryl Cole, 25, with some newspapers claiming the pair barely speak to each other on set. In a preview for the show, an immaculately made-up Cheryl shows signs of stress as she struggles to hold back the tears – although the reason for her distress is not known. Dannii claims she is thrilled the Girls Aloud star has replaced Sharon Osbourne on the panel. Sharon, 55, who left the show in June after allegedly making extortionate wage demands, had upset Dannii by claiming she had only got the job as a judge because of her good looks. Dannii welcomed Cheryl with the words: “She brings a breath of fresh air to the show and isn’t afraid to voice her opinions.” X Factor supremo Simon Cowell praised Cheryl as “a little fighter” and said she was there to bring honesty to the panel.

Aww … Dannii looks amazing and I’m happy to hear that things should be a lot less bitchy on X Factor (which is kinda like our American Idol) now that Sharon has left the show. Incidentally, Sharon has joined the judging panel of America’s Got Talent so she is David Hasselhoff’s problem now. I think Dannii and Cheryl Cole make a great team of judges … they can offer a Paula Abdul-like perspective but without the booziness ;)

Dannii Minogue must love raising money for charity. Earlier this year, she joined Olivia Newton-John on the Great Walk to Beijing to raise money for breast cancer research and just this weekend she embarked on a 10k walk to raise money for AIDS research. Wee! As if I couldn’t love the woman any more she has to go and do something else to endear her to my heart. You have to hand it it Ms. Minogue … she really puts her money where her mouth is — er, where her feet are. You can tell that she takes great pleasure in doing everything she can to raise money for these charities and I think she should be commended for her efforts. I cannot imagine the strains on Dannii’s time and yet she still finds a way to fit in these sorts of charity walks into her schedule.
