Yesterday we learned that Kristin Cavallari, star of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills, will be competing in the upcoming 13th season of Dancing with the Stars and today we get our first look at KC on the set of the show. Kristin tweeted a photo of herself in costume today as she and the rest of the DWTS cast filmed the opening segment of the show. Click below to get your first look at how Kristin will look on DWTS.

The cast list announcement for the new season of Dancing with the Stars isn’t supposed to be officially announced until tonight but the full list of season 13 DWTS competitors has reportedly made it’s way to the Internets. Dancing with the Stars contestants Kirstie Alley and professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy didn’t give the best performance on last night’s show. The pair unfortunately suffered a fairly embarrassing fall that didn’t look too painful at first but apparently ended up hurting Maksim very much. Fortunately, the fall wasn’t at all severe for Kirstie who was lifted (partway) and then dropped … seemingly in slow motion. Check out screencaps and video of the fall below.

The full cast of the upcoming season 12 of Dancing with the Stars will not be officially revealed until later tonight on ABC but TMZ has come upon a list of 6 of the 11 celebrities who have reportedly been cast for the show. Among the rumored season 12 cast is a wrestler, a lil’ rapper and a former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner. Read on to find out which z-list celebs will supposedly compete for the mirror ball trophy this season.

Margaret Cho, who competed this season on Dancing with the Stars, posted an entry on her official blog this week that claims that her fellow castmate Bristol Palin was forced to be on DWTS by her mother and ex-governor of Alaska Sarah Palin. Cho claims that she learned this information from a source “in the know” about Palin family matters and insists that Sarah Palin made Bristol compete on the show in an effort to make America “fall in love with her again” (presumably because America fell out of love with her after Bristol gave birth to a baby out of wedlock). Here are excerpts from Margaret Cho‘s DWTS blogpost:

Why did Bristol do Dancing with the Stars? I heard from someone who really should know (really should seriously know the dirt really really) that the only reason Bristol was on the show was because Sarah Palin forced her to do it. Sarah supposedly blames Bristol harshly and openly (in the circles that I heard it from) for not winning the election, and so she told Bristol she “owed” it to her to do DWTS so that “America would fall in love with her again” and make it possible for Sarah Palin to run in 2012 with America behind her all the way. Instead of being supposedly “handicapped” by the presence of her teen mom daughter, now Bristol is going to be an “asset” – a celebrity beloved for her dancing. I am sure the show wasn’t in on this (but who knows anything really).

HMMM … interesting … and 100% plausible. I did occur to me that the best way for Sarah Palin to capitalize on the most popular competitive reality TV program on the air would be to have her daughter compete on the show that she would never be able to do herself. If Palin ever does make a run for the Presidency, she would not be able to do so if she had lowered herself to appearing on a dance competition TV series … but her daughter, that’s another story. I not only believe Margaret‘s assertion that Bristol was forced to do the show but it fortified the suspicions I already had.

Last night, America spoke and they selected a new champion for the 11th season of Dancing with the Stars. As you may know, the final 3 contestants vying for the mirror ball trophy were Jennifer Grey, Kyle Massey and Bristol Palin … and last night, one of these stars was crowned champion:

Kylie Minogue, the worldwide SUPERSTAR here in the US this week doing a bit of promo for her album Aphrodite, made an in-person appearance at The Grove here in Los Angeles, CA yesterday to appear with Mario Lopez on Extra! to announce that she will be bringing her next world tour to the US in the Spring of next year:

As you may recall, we learned back in August that Kylie would be touring in support of Aphrodite on her upcoming Les Folies Tour 2011 and yesterday Kylie confirmed that she will be bringing that tour HERE to the US in April and May of 2011. Squee!!! I can’t even tell you how excited I am to learn that Kylie will be coming BACK to the US next year. In her 20+ year career she only first toured the US properly back in 2009 on her For You, For Me North American Tour so it’s a thrill to have her coming back so soon. You better believe I will be seeing her as many times as possible on her Les Folies Tour 2011. At the start of this month we got our first look at a batch of promo photos for the upcoming 11th season of Dancing with the Stars with the celebs all paired up with their professional dance partners … today we get to see a few photos of some of the DWTS celebs making their way into or out of rehearsals for the show:

Altho my girl Margaret Cho isn’t included in this batch of rehearsal photos, I’m still pullin’ for her to win the trophy this season. That being said, I don’t think I’d be upset if Rick Fox, Jennifer Grey or Florence Henderson won … not that I think any of them will but I like them all well enough to root for them, too. Earlier this week we learned which “stars” had been signed on to compete in the upcoming 11th season of Dancing with the Stars and today we get to see some of those stars all paired up with their professional dancing partners in new promo photos released by ABC:

The new “Dancing with the Stars” pairs put on their best poses in the dancing costumes for the promotional photos of season 11. Bristol Palin had said before that she would wear the most conservative costume in the show’s history but the final result proved otherwise. “We did our title shoot today so I got all glammed up and stuff, but I’m definitely excited to wear all those,” the 19-year-old who is paired with Mark Ballas said in an interview with Us Magazine. “I know that mine will be the most conservative and I will be the most dressed. That’s because that’s how I am and that’s how I want to dress. But it’ll be good, all the rhinestones and spray tans, that will be fun.” Comparably, her black dress in the promo is decent looking from the front view, but it has this hidden thigh-high slit as well as wide open back. Still, the title of the sexiest-looking female contestant is held by Audrina Patridge who wears a red two-piece with glitter details. Not seen in the pictures are Karina Smirnoff and The Situation who can only match their schedules one week before the show starts. Smirnoff who admitted that she is nervous about the limited time said they would have around five days to practice before the premiere on September 20.

As I proclaimed before, my support lies with the fabulous Margaret Cho … but I also got mad love for Jennifer Grey (whom I just re-fell in love with in her ’84 film Red Dawn), Florence Henderson (who doesn’t love Carol Brady?) and Rick Fox (merely because he is Eliza Dushku‘s man). A couple of weeks ago we learned the somewhat shocking news that Mike The Situation Sorrentino had been cast as a contestant on the upcoming 11th season of Dancing with the Stars. A few days later, we heard that Bristol Palin had also joined the cast. Today we learn that those two casting reports were true as the full cast line-up of DWTS season 11 has been announced:

Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron and co-host Brooke Burke revealed the identities of the celebrity cast live during Monday night’s Bachelor Pad broadcast. Except for Bolton and The Situation, all of the celebrities appeared live on stage with the Dancing with the Stars hosts as they were announced. “[They] couldn’t be here tonight,” Bergeron said as he announced Bolton and The Situation’s participation. With the exception of Massey, all the celebrities had previously been reported to be participating or be in talks to participate in Dancing with the Stars’ eleventh season. Dancing with the Stars’ eleventh season will premiere Monday, September 20 at 8PM ET/PT with a two-hour broadcast. All 12 celebrities will perform a Viennese waltz or cha cha routine with their professional partner during the premiere, and the couple with the lowest combination of the judges’ scores and home viewer votes will be eliminated on the following night’s results show. Dancing with the Stars’ eleventh-season professional partner pairings will be announced Wednesday morning on Good Morning America. However according to Edyta Sliwinska — the only professional dancer to participate in all of the ABC ballroom dancing competition’s first ten seasons — she won’t be among this season’s partners. Earlier today, Sliwinska said she quit Dancing with the Stars due to a disagreement with the show’s producers.

You may recall that I was very excited about the last season of Dancing with the Stars earlier this year when it was announced that Shannen Doherty would be among the contestants. My interest in the show was very short-lived because Shannen was the first contestant voted off the show despite the fact that there were far worse contestants left in the mix. This season I can’t say that I’m all that interested in watching … but I will be rooting for the amazing Margaret Cho to win it all!
