Earlier this week we saw a few photos of Soccer phenom Cristiano Ronaldo lounging by the pool with friends in his hometown of Funchal, Portugal … in much happier times. Earlier today Ronaldo was involved in a car accident that left his £200,000 Ferrari in shambles but, very fortunately, he was able to walk away from the incident unharmed. Just hours after his sports car was hauled away to the scrap heap, Cristiano was beaming his smile and giving fans the thumbs up as he the Carrington training ground afterward … clearly, he’s not sweating the loss:

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United star, has written off his Ferrari sports car following a crash in a tunnel. The 23-year-old footballer emerged from the tangle of wreckage unscathed. It is understood that at the time of the crash Ronaldo’s red 599 GTB, on Portuguese registration plates, was just ahead of the Bentley Continental being driven by his team mate, Edwin van der Saar. Both are thought to have been en route to United’s Carrington training ground. Police reached the scene a short time later and spoke to Ronaldo about the accident. He was breathalysed after the accident, which happened at around 10.20am on Thursday. Police said the test proved negative. The winger was well enough to continue his journey and join team mates at a routine training session. The crash, which left the £200,000 Ferrari a virtual write-off, happened on a stretch of the A538 that takes traffic under the runways of Manchester Airport between Wilmslow, Cheshire, and nearby Hale. An eye-witness said: “The front of Ronaldo’s car was completely mangled. There was metal all over the road, and debris. We had to dodge our way through it. “Ronaldo was just standing at the side of the road looking forlorn and bewildered. My daughter said to me, ‘Oh my God – that’s Cristiano Ronaldo!’ It’s amazing he was okay because his car looked so bad.” Ronaldo’s Ferrari is among a fleet of cars he owns that are worth around £2 million. His other cars include a Bentley Continental GT Speed and a Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. He also has two Porsche Cayennes and a BMW M6.

Altho Cristiano may not be worried about the loss of his car, he might want to be concerned about the police investigation that is forthcoming … especially if there was speeding/racing involved in this incident:

Police will investigate whether Ronaldo had been speeding and are expected to question his teammate Edwin Van Der Sar, 38, who was apparently travelling behind in his ??200,000 Bentley, about his driving speed … Police apparently suspect that as he went into the tunnel, which has a speed limit of 60mph, the footballer may have lost control of the car before spinning into the side of the tunnel. The impact then caused the car to lose a front wheel and it then ricocheted off the wall until it finally came to a stop further down the tunnel. Ronaldo was able to clamber out of the wreckage and remained at the scene until police arrived. The striker was taking the 205mph supercar, which he had imported from Portugal two days ago, apparently for its first spin when he lost control of it on the A538 Wilmslow Road, near Manchester Airport.

Damn. He is so lucky he wasn’t injured … or worse. I suppose we’ll know in due time what the cause of the accident was but I suspect that some form of speeding was involved. A 23-year old guy taking his new sportscar out for its first spin? Yeah … I think we know what went down. In the end, again, he’s lucky to be alive.

When last we saw soccer stud Cristiano Ronaldo he was hobbling and lounging about here in SoCal lookin’ extra fried and crispy after soaking up all of the California sun … but these days, the lad has returned to his normal color and to his home town of Funchal in Portugal as he lounged about poolside with his friends and manager Jorge Mendes … behold:

Lord, he looks so much better when he’s not sunburnt to within an inch of his life. Sure, I much prefer when Cris dons the speedos instead of the squarecut shorts but I am not complainin’. You gotta love how the staunchly Catholic Cristiano wouldn’t dream of stripping down to his skivvies without wearing his crucifix … he deffo has a style all his own. Here’s hopin’ Cristiano spends a bit more time on holiday in Funchal … that way, we might be able to see more photos of his hot bod in action.

Earlier this summer we saw pics of Cristiano Ronaldo hobbling around SoCal on a pair of crutches after suffering an ankle injury on the soccer field (or mebbe he was recovering from surgery, I’m not sure) and even more pics of Cristiano soaking up the SoCal sun as he fried next to various pools around town. Well, it looks like Cristiano is finally healed … and is back to enjoying the sunshine in his hometown in Funchal, Portugal:

Cristiano was in Funchal for more than just lazing by the pool … he was in town to be awarded the Golden Shoe for being the Top Scorer in the European Futbol league … or something like that. In any event, it’s the wet white bathing suit that caught my eye so I thought it would only be prudent to share the goods. It’s good to see him back to his good ol’ self again … hopefully he can keep the skin cancer at bay.

You know … as kinda gross as Cristiano Ronaldo’s overtanning makes him look sometimes, there are other times that A.) he don’t look all that gross any more and B.) the boy is able to still get some action. Here are a couple pics of the crispy-fried soccer phenom enjoying the attention from a female admirer and a nice view of his wet bum as he got out of the pool:

Yeah … I think he looks much better when he’s in the sun (and wet) rather than inside under normal lighting conditions (and not wet) cuz his suntan works better in the daylight. OY! I still fear for the lad’s possible run-in with skin cancer down the line but … he’s lookin’ much nicer this time around.

Yesterday we got to see a few RIDICULOUS photos of Manchester United soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo showing off his fried chicken legs as he hobbled on crutches at the Ed Hardy boutique in West Hollywood, CA and today we get to check out a couple more photos of the Portuguese phenom doing what he seems to love best … frying his epidermis:

Football star Cristiano Ronaldo clearly enjoys sporting the bronzed look. But the Manchester United and Portuguese international appears to have taken his love of tanning too far as he turned a distinct shade of mahogany from his daily sunbathing sessions in Los Angeles. Ronaldo has spent his break since the premiere season’s end last month sunning himself. First on holiday with ex-girlfriend Nereida in Sardinia, and now in Los Angeles. But despite acquiring the desired bronzed look some weeks ago, the star footballer is still soaking up the sun on a daily basis. Ronaldo’s once sunkissed skin has now turned a decidedly much darker hue, but the 23-year-old appears to be addicted to the suns rays, lying out in the sun on a daily basis. Ronaldo is recuperating in Los Angeles after an operation on his ankle.

Yeah, methinks that Cristiano should really start to be concerned about all this suntanning. Absent the fact that he could contract a nasty case of skin cancer, his skin looks like it’s about 4 minutes away from turning into leather. It’s not a good look. The darker he becomes the more I think about the Season 5 Project Runway contestant Blayne and his insane love of suntanning — he must be seething with jealousy … dare I say, he’s “green” with envy?

ICK. His skin looks really unattractive in these pics (which is strange ‘cuz I like leather). It’s funny how hawt he looks when he’s all oiled up and lying in the sun and how totally EW he looks in these pics. The shorty shorts do nothing for his crispy brown chicken legs … I think he needs to rethink his whole ensemble. I am not a fan of this look … are you?
