First Look: Colin Farrell In The Remake Of ‘Fright Night’

Proving, for the umpteenth millionth time that there are no new ideas left in Hollywood, today we get our first look at promo photos from the upcoming remake of the 1985 vampire horror film Fright Night. In the original film, a teenage horror film fan discovers that he is living next door to an actual vampire and must find a way to rid the world of this evil. In the remake, Star Trek‘s Anton Yelchin plays the teenager and Colin Farrell plays the vampire. Oh, and by the way, this new version of Fright Night will be presented in 3D.

"Let's investigate!"
Colin Farrell Pays A Visit To ‘Sesame Street’

The new season of Sesame Street is already in full swing and even tho Katy Perry (and her heaving bosom) are persona non grata folks like Oprah Winfrey have already been featured on the iconic children’s TV series. In addition to Her Holy Oprahness, salty actor Colin Farrell has also been welcomed to Sesame Street … for some strange reason:

He’s known for his colourful language, womanising ways and love of the drink. But despite his hellraiser reputation, Colin Farrell was bizarrely picked by TV bosses to make a guest appearance on children’s show Sesame Street. It comes just weeks after producers of the hit American programme pulled scenes of Katy Perry after a YouTube video of her in the sketch, wearing a very low cut dress, attracted complaints from parents who deemed her attire too racy. In the skit, Irish-born Farrell, 34, and some of the puppet characters investigated the word ‘investigate’. Murray the Monster seemed most impressed with the actor, telling Farrell he was ‘tall and handsome’ and ‘pretty smart’. Farrell has said filming the guest spot was one of the high-points of his career. ‘I did a scene with Elmo and a couple of the other characters,’ he says. ‘The word of the day was “investigation.” We did a scene with a couple of talking carrots,’ he explained, before adding, ‘and shit. It was genius!’

I mean … what? It doesn’t really make much sense to me to put Colin Farrell on a kids show like this particularly because there isn’t much to gain on Sesame Street‘s part. I can see how Colin might love to be on the show, especially since he is a father of young sons. My guess is that the told him the word of the day was Investigate which he misheard as Inebriate and thought, Yeah … I can handle that. In all honesty, the clip is kinda cute. Check it out in full, after the jump …

Baby, COMB on OVER
Colin Farrell Shows Off A Sexy New Hair’Do

Colin Farrell was spotted on the SoCal set of a new movie called Horrible Bosses. As you can see from the following photos, Colin will be playing a super sexy character in this new film:

LOL! Even with this comb-over hair’do, Colin still looks hot … I think it’s the diamond earring that really makes the look work for me. Ya know, I’m not usually fond of balding guys who try to mask their hair loss with a pitiful comb-over but I’m not hating this look on Colin Farrell. Incidentally, Jennifer Aniston will also star in this film … and I’m really hoping we get to see her rockin’ a sexy comb-over, too. As for Colin … what do you think? Would you still hit it?

Eamon Farrell and Steven Mannion got hitched!
Colin Farrell Plays Best Man At Brother Eamon’s Wedding

Congratulations are in order for Eamon Farrell and Steven Mannion who were wed in a ceremony in Dublin, Ireland this weekend. Eamon is older brother to actor Colin Farrell, who was on hand to be the Best Man at the nuptials. Here are photos of the newlyweds (who were actually legally married in Canada over the Summer but were remarried in this civil union ceremony in Ireland over the weekend) alongside Colin and his eldest son James as they made their way out of the festivities at Krystle nightclub last night:

The wedding celebrations of Colin Farrell’s gay brother were a family affair last night at Krystle nightclub on Harcourt Street in Dublin. Farrell’s brother Eamon was marking his marriage to his longtime partner, Irish artist Steven Mannion. Colin was in Dublin for the party, bringing his five-year-old son James with him. Colin’s father, Eamon Sr., his mother Rita, and his sisters, Claudine and Catherine, were also at the bash, along with other high-profile Dublin socialites. James is Colin Farrell’s first son, whom he had with former girlfriend, American model Kim Bordenave … Although this is a time of celebration for the Farrell family, the clan has had other issues to contend with recently, too. The newlywed Eamon has expressed disappointment that he and Steven could celebrate in Ireland but they could not formally wed here. The Irish Civil Partnership Bill brought in earlier this year gives gay people many of the same rights as hetersexuals, but does not legislate for marriage. As a result Eamon and Steven got married in Vancouver, Canada, over the summer, where same-sex marriage is legal. “We have to get married abroad,” he complained in an interview at the time. “It’s absolutely terrible. We have to go somewhere legal, which narrows it down to about five countries. “Who wants a civil union? It’s just so legal. I want to be able to get married.” Farrell was best man at his brother’s summer wedding.

While I understand the couple’s frustration at having to A) travel to another country in order to be legally wed and B) settle for a “civil union” instead of an actual marriage in their homeland, I hope they are able to take comfort in the fact that they are lovingly committed to one another no matter what anyone has to say about it. I LOVE that Colin has been so involved in this happy time in his older brother’s life … I’m sure it meant a lot to Eamon to have his family included in his nuptials to Steven. Much love and congrats goes out to the happy couple. May they live a long, happy and prosperous life together :)

Colin Farrell & Alicja Bachleda-Curuś Get Romantic In Mexico

Actor Colin Farrell and his babymama Alicja Bachleda-Curuś have made their way South of the border to enjoy a bit of a romantic getaway together and were snapped in various states of undress (well, we he was at least much to my approval) and in various states of affection on their hotel balcony … behold:

As you may recall, Colin and Alicja (his second babymama, I might add) welcomed the birth of their child Henry Tadeusz last month … it’s unclear if the couple brought along the baby with them on this romantic excursion but it does seem like the couple are happily “honeymooning” sans baby. They look really happy … it’s nice to see Colin so happy with the woman who bore his child … er, well, the latest woman to bear his newest child, that is :)

Big night for 'Slumdog Millionaire' and 'John Adams'
The 66th Annual Golden Globes Are Handed Out

The Hollywood Foreign Press handed out the 66th annual Golden Globe awards last night at the famed Beverly Hilton Hotel and a Who’s Who of Hollywood’s elite came out for the grand affair. As you may recall, the Golden Globe Awards were not held last year because of the Hollywood Writers’ Strike so many celebs were geared up to strut their stuff on the red carpet last night. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals:

There were quite a few fashion disasters on the red carpet last night and I’m convinced that many of the folks who made their way down the red carpet were totally loaded. I watched NBC‘s red carpet coverage and was aghast at how horrible the whole thing was. Not only did Nancy O’Dell look like she had a mop afixed to her head but she and her interviewer cohorts were simply HORRENDOUS as they interviewed the celebs:

If you watched the show, you know exactly what I’m talking about. But, once the show got underway and the awards started to get handed out, things leveled off and got sorta interesting. In the end, the Hollywood Foreign Press saw fit to bestow HEAPS of awards on Slumdog Millionaire (in the Film categories) and John Adams (in the Television categories). Here are a few pics from the press room and a rundown of what went down last night:

The movie “Slumdog Millionaire” emerged as the big winner at the 66th Golden Globes late Sunday, scooping four awards to underline its credentials ahead of next month’s Oscars. Late Australian actor Heath Ledger earned a posthumous Golden Globe for his performance in Batman blockbuster “The Dark Knight” while Kate Winslet won two awards for best drama actress and supporting actress. But, ironically, on a star-studded night in Beverly Hills, it was “Slumdog Millionaire” the rags-to-riches love story about an orphan who fights his way out of Mumbai slums on an Indian television game show. The film — featuring a cast of virtual unknowns — won best drama and also picked up honors for director Danny Boyle, as well as honors for best screenplay and best music. Sally Hawkins also won the best musical/comedy actress award for her performance in the light-hearted Mike Leigh film “Happy-Go-Lucky.” The 32-year-old actress beat favorite Meryl Streep (“Mamma Mia!”), Frances McDormand (“Burn After Reading) and fellow Britons Rebecca Hall (“Vicky Cristina Barcelona”) and Emma Thompson (“Last Chance Harvey”). After a disastrous event last year that was reduced to a celebrity-free zone by the entertainment industry’s writers strike, this year’s Globes red carpet read like a who’s who of the movie industry’s A-list. Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, Leonardo DiCaprio were just a handful of the A-listers in attendance at the Beverly Hilton. Unlike the Oscars, the Golden Globes — which are chosen by around 80 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association — have separate best picture awards for dramas and musicals. In the past four years the Globes have failed to accurately predict the best picture winner at the Academy Awards but overall, some 67 percent of Oscars best picture winners had first received a Golden Globe. As such the Globes are seen as an important staging post ahead of the Academy Awards, offering clues to which films will be successful at the Oscars, which take place at Hollywood’s Kodak Theater on February 22. The acting awards on Sunday saw Australian heart-throb Ledger honored as expected for his portrayal of arch-villain the Joker in “The Dark Knight.” Director Christopher Nolan accepted Ledger’s award, saying the actor’s death at the age of 28 had “ripped a hole” in the future of cinema. “All of us who worked with Heath on ‘The Dark Knight’ accept this with an awful mixture of sadness but incredible pride,” Nolan said. “For any of us lucky enough to work with him, I think for any of us lucky enough to enjoy his performances, he will be eternally missed, but he will never be forgotten,” he added. The victory cements Ledger’s status as the odds-on favorite to win a best supporting actor Oscar at next month’s Oscars. The other big winner in the acting categories was Winslet, who scooped best actress in a drama for her performance in “Revolutionary Road” and best supporting actress for “The Reader.” Winslet, 33, who had been overlooked after five previous nominations, was overcome following her double win, apologizing to her rival nominees and thanking “Revolutionary Road” co-star DiCaprio. “I’m so sorry, Meryl (Streep), Anne (Hathaway), Kristin (Scott-Thomas), the other one… Angelina (Jolie)!,” Winslet gasped. “Thank you so much… thank you soooo much!,” before adding to longtime friend and fellow “Titanic” star DiCaprio: “I love you with all my heart, I really do!” It was only the third time in Golden Globes history that an actor or actress had been honored with two awards on the same night. In the men’s acting categories there was an emotional victory for Mickey Rourke, who won best actor in a drama for his heart-wrenching portrayal of a washed-up prizefighter in “The Wrestler.” “This has been a very long road back for me,” said Rourke, whose career nose-dived through much of the 1990s after an ill-advised spell as a professional boxer. Rourke — who famously has a pet chihuahua — also paid tribute to canine friends who had comforted him over the years. “I’d like to thank all of my dogs, the ones that are here and the ones that aren’t here anymore because sometimes when a man is alone, that’s all you’ve got is your dog, and they meant the world to me,” Rourke said. Rock star Bruce Springsteen won for best original song for his theme song for “The Wrestler.” But it was a disappointing evening though for Brad Pitt and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” which had started the night with five nods alongside “Frost/Nixon” and “Doubt”. All three films came away empty-handed.

Poor Brangelina … they walked away from the Golden Globes with nothing but a free meal and prolly a very nice giftbag — that’s it! And, to add insult to injury, Angelina got called “the other one” by Kate Winslet (which sounded an awful lot like when John McCain referred to Barack Obama as “that one” during one of the Presidential Debates). Tsk tsk. Neither The Curious Case of Benjamin Button nor Changeling have done very well at winning awards thus far, have they? HMMM. I am SO thrilled that Slumdog Millionaire cleaned up last night … truly an underdog film that is worthy of the praise and accolades it continues to win. If you’ve not see the movie yet, I urge you to do so before the Academy Awards are held next month … you don’t want to miss out. I was happy, too, that Heath Ledger won the award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in The Dark Knight. I really hope he is on track for an Oscar, he really deserves the win. Props to Kate Winslet for being the first person to ever win both Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress awards in the same year (I understand that has never happened before). I’ve only heard amazing things about The Reader and Vicki Christina Barcelona … so I am now on a mission to see those films (as well as The Wrestler, which I’ve been dying to see anyways) as soon as I can. I really enjoyed this year’s Golden Globe Awards mostly because so many small, relatively unknown films did so well. It gets kinda boring when the usual suspects (ie. big, blockbuster A-list celeb movies) win all the awards … it’s nice to see the talented little guys get their time in the sun. Next up, Oscar noms which come out next week. How many of last night’s winners do you think will get tapped for Academy Award nominations? Also, what did you think of last night’s show … good, bad, you’re over it already?

Is Colin Farrell Going To Be A Daddy Again?

Colin Farrell and his latest ladylove Emma Forrest were spied doing a little shopping at their friendly neighborhood Rite Aid drug store last weekend where the couple reportedly picked up an EPT pregnancy test before dashing out the door and rushing off to the Chateau Marmont … could the couple be making way for another one of Colin‘s children or were they just dealing with a little false alarm?

Colin is still lookin’ super skinny and really frail after dropping all his weight for his latest movie Triage but I wouldn’t at all be surprised if he did, indeed, knock up his new girlfriend. I saw his sex tape, I’m aware of his virility. Even still, this little rendezvous with the EPT kit may have been just a close call … tho, Colin deffo had something on his mind because not long after his little trip to the drug store, he accidentally rammed the back end of a neighbor’s parked car with his truck. After the jump, check out the damage and the courteous note he left for the injured party …
