Just after winning her third Golden Globe for the TV series Homeland Claire Danes has secured an even more honorable award – 2012 Woman of the Year by the Hasty Pudding Theatricals of Harvard University.

Last night at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles, CA the 62nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out on LIVE TV in a telecast that offered some entertainment, lots of surprises and a bit of disappointment. As for the show itself, well, overall I was a bit underwhelmed by what we were given. I thought Jimmy Fallon did a fairly good job as host but much of the show was tedious and annoying. The announcer who wouldn’t shut up as the night progressed really got on my nerves. They need to get rid of him, like, seriously. I really enjoyed Jimmy‘s musical interludes and I really enjoyed the show’s Glee-themed opening number. In case you missed it or just want to watch it again, you can do so after the jump …

Once upon a time, Claire Danes (who played Angela Chase) and Jared Leto (who played Jordan Catalano) co-starred on a ill-fated TV series called My So-Called Life which managed to strike a cord with viewers with its stark and honest portrayal of teen angst despite the fact that the show only lasted for one season. All these years after the show ended it’s run, Danes and Leto ran into each other again in London this week at the Elle Style Awards. Here are photos of Claire and Jared back when they were on My So-Called Life together and then at the Elle Style Awards this week:

I LOVE these two together … I am one of the legions of So-Called Life fans that still fondly remember the show. I didn’t watch it when it aired on ABC but became a fan when it ran in re-runs on MTV shortly after the show was canceled. My So-Called Life was the show that introduced the world to Jared Leto … and I dare you find a So-Called fan who wasn’t in love with Jordan Catalano. They both sure look different all these years later … but I think they still make a perfect match :)

This past February we learned that longtime paramours Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy got engaged to be wed … today we learn from Life & Style magazine that Clancy went and got married in a private (and apparently unannounced) ceremony earlier this month. I guess congratulations are in order … Claire and Hugh got hitched!

Claire Danes and British actor Hugh Dancy got married in a low-key wedding in France, Life & Style can report exclusively. The pair tied the knot earlier this month at a small ceremony attended by family and close friends, an insider tells Life & Style. Claire, 30, and Hugh, 34, met over two years ago on the set of Evening in Newport, R.I. The pair announced their engagement in February. “He’s such a cutie patootie,” Claire told BlackBook magazine for its September issue. “While relationships are work, this just didn’t feel like it. It’s the kind of work that feels energizing rather than enervating. I find it very freeing to know that, okay, it takes constant nurturing and attention, but I can also stop looking for the one.”

Yay!! We knew the couple were on the wedding track and considering how private they are in their everyday lives, news of this secret wedding in France comes as no surprise whatsoever. They make a very handsome couple and I wish them nothing but a long life of happiness and bliss. Congrats, Clancy!!

While Mandy Moore seems to be having a hard time dealing with her break-up with Ryan Adams, it seems like things are progressing nicely for Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy who have been happily together since late 2006 and are spending this week enjoying a holiday in Italy. Altho I’m a bit concerned about those protruding ribs that Claire has got goin’ on, I think these pics are great. They make a really cute couple and they always look so happy together. Hugh is a cutie and Claire is one of my fave, under-appreciated actresses. You don’t really see this couple out and about all the time … perhaps that is why they have managed to last for so long. It looks like they are having a great vacay together … cute!
