Actor Christian Bale took some time off from promoting his new film The Flowers of War in China this week to make an attempt to visit activist Chen Guangcheng, a blind lawyer who has been illegally confined to his home in eastern Shandong Province. Upon his arrival in Guangcheng‘s village in Eastern China, with CNN cameras in tow, Bale was forcibly attacked and pushed away from his destination by a group of plainclothes Chinese guards who physically manhandled him as they screamed “Go away!”. Christian Bale is talking Batman this weekend … but it may not be the news that you are wanting to hear. In a new interview with Philippine Daily Inquirer, Bale claims that he has donned the Batman costume for the last time. According to Christian, principle filming of Batman: The Dark Knight Rises is now complete and he has taken off the famed Batman cowl for the last time … ever! Say it ain’t so!

Filming continues on the set of Batman: The Dark Knight Rises this week as the action moves from uptown NYC to downtown NYC … right to the front steps of the Occupy Wall Street movement. As you may recall, we saw a few photos from the NY set of Dark Knight Rises that featured actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt in costume as police officer John Blake. Today we get to see photos of the big man himself (Batman played by Christian Bale) fighting with/alongside villians Bane (played by Tom Hardy) and Catwoman (played by Anne Hathaway). It’s been a little while since we checked in on the set of Batman: The Dark Knight Rises and it’s been a while longer since we’ve seen actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt on set. Today we get to both check in AND see photos of JGL in action. Joseph was photographed with co-star Christian Bale filming new scenes together … Christian as billionaire Bruce Wayne and JGL as police officer John Blake. I’m not entirely sure but I’m thinking JGL might play a bad guy … HMMMMM. Check out the photos below.

Yesterday we got our FIRST LOOK at Anne Hathaway in full Catwoman costume on the SoCal set of Batman: The Dark Knight Rises and today we get to see a few more photos from the set. As you may recall, the first incarnation of the new Catwoman costume left MUCH to be desired … but these new photos show that the costume has been upgraded significantly to make Anne actually look like a cat woman. There is an interesting theory going around that suggests that Catwoman‘s ears/mask combo might be made from Batman‘s own mask/cowl. Check out the photos below and see what you think.

Early last month we got our first look at actress Anne Hathaway in costume as Catwoman as she will appear in the upcoming sequel film Batman: The Dark Knight Rises. As you may recall, Anne recieved a lot of negative feedback based primarily on the fact that she did NOT look very much like Catwoman at all. This weekend, Anne and co-star Christian Bale filmed new scenes for The Dark Knight Rises and as you can see in the photos below, her Catwoman costume has been changed at bit … and she NOW looks like Catwoman. Today we get to see new photos of Anne on set but this time she is joined by Batman star Christian Bale in costume as millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne. Check out the photos below.

At the start of this month we saw video footage of Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway filming scenes for the upcoming sequel film Batman: The Dark Knight Rieses in the UK and a few weeks later, we saw the first signs of life on the Pittsburgh, PA set of the film. This weekend, filming was in FULL swing on the streets of Pittsburgh as many of main Batman actors surfaced on set for duty. Only Tom Hardy, in character as Bane, was dressed in any significant costume … but Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Gary Oldman (Commissioner Gordon) and Marion Cotillard (Miranda Tate) were among the big names on set yesterday.

Batman: The Dark Knight Rises is currently in filming production in the UK and today we get to see some minorly spoilery spy video footage from the set. An intrepid Batman fan managed to video record footage of the film’s Wayne Manor that appears to show stars Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne) holding hands with Anne Hathaway (Selina Kyle). At this point, it is not known exactly what kind of relationship Bruce and Selina will have in the film but it’s clearly a friendly one … at least, in this scene. Click below to check out the video.

On Wednesday we got to see a few photos of Tom Hardy on the set of Batman: The Dark Knight Rises lookin’ beefy as all get-out as he prepares to play the role of the villainous Bane in the upcoming sequel film. Today we get to see a photo of lead actor Christian Bale lookin’ pretty beat up in a reported make-up test for the film.
