Reese Witherspoon’s new movie, This Means War, will be out on Feb 14th (Valentines Day) and today MTV released a snippet of the upcoming flick. Reese has done a lot of rom-coms but this is a bit of an action film crossed with a romantic-comedy. Read below for more details about the film and watch the clip. Back in June we learned that Warner Bros. Studios is working on a big screen adaptation of the classic DC Comics series based on The Flash and today we learn that Chris Pine, who famously stars as the young James T. Kirk in the JJ Abrams reboot of Star Trek, is reportedly the man WB wants in the red suit. Now that Green Lantern will make his big screen debut next Spring, Warner Bros. is lookin’ to put other DC heroes in theaters, as well … chief among those heroes, The Flash:

Chris Pine is rumored to be up for the starring role in Warner Bros’s long-awaited film adaptation of the DC Comics superhero The Flash. Screen Rant claims that Pine is currently the studio’s first choice to take on the iconic role of speedster The Flash, although it is still uncertain which incarnation of the character he could play. Earlier this year, it was announced that Green Lantern scribe Marc Guggenheim would co-write the script alongside Michael Green and Greg Berlanti. In an interview with Newsarama, Guggenheim hinted that the current version of the script focuses on original Flash Barry Allen. Pine was previously rumored for the lead role in Captain America before the part eventually went to Chris Evans. It is thought that The Flash is slated for release in 2013.

With Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern and Chris Evans as Captain America, it only makes sense that fellow hottie Chris Pine should get in on the big screen superhero action. To be honest, in these big screen hero films, it seems like good looks takes precedence over acting ability … I mean, let’s be real … there won’t be any real acting involved in any of these CGI action movie masterpieces. These studios need good looking faces to wrap in those vivid superhero costumes … and that’s pretty much it. Cast an equally pretty female face to put on the heroes’ arms, add tens of millions in special effects and voila! Chris Pine was fantastic in Star Trek, so the guy can really act … not that he’d need to, that is. I love the idea of Chris Pine as Barry Allen/The Flash … do you?

Earlier today we learned that director Kathryn Bigelow made Oscar history last night at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards where she took home the trophies for Best Director (the first woman to do so) and Best Picture (the biggest award of the awards). But, there were other folks at the Oscars last night … some of them won Oscars of the their own, many of them didn’t … but that’s the name of the game. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals:

As you can see, Gabourey Sidibe wore a lovely blue dress … in fact, all of the women from Precious who appeared at the Academy Awards last night wore blue dresses because it was the color that actress Hattie McDaniel (the first African-American woman to win an Oscar) wore when she collected her Best Supporting Actress award for Gone with the Wind in 1939. Meryl Streep wore a lovely white dress … which was designed by Project Runway contestant Chris March (who is usually known for his outlandish costume designs — usually worn by drag queens — rather than his stylish fashion designs). The red carpet, as usual, had its hits and misses but the folks presented here looked mighty fine, I thought.

… as is Tom Brady (Comeback of the Year), Clint Eastwood (Badass of the Year), Bradley Cooper/Zach Galifiankis/Andy Bernard (Funnymen of the Year) and President Barack Obama (Leader of the Year). It’s been a little while since we’ve seen Chris Pine aka Chris Fine walking around lookin’, well, fine and shizz so I thought it was high time we check in and see what he is up to. Here are a couple photos of Mr. Fine after he picked up a cup of coffee on his way to the gym in NYC yesterday afternoon:

While the outfit leaves much to be desired I guess it can be forgiven since he is on his way to the gym … not that it really detracts from his fineness. That is all … carry on.

Chris Pine, who is know for his frequents walks in and around the greater Los Angeles, CA area, has made his way to NYC to carry on his tradition of bipedal mobility here in Manhattan. Generally, Pine doesn’t do anything other than look fine when he is out and about … and these photos are no exception … behold:

It was sunny and cool here in NYC so it makes sense that Chris would decide on a light jean jacket before stripping it off as the day warmed up. Couple his ensemble with those snazzy blue suede shoes and you’ve got yourself a looker. It’s nice to see that Chris Pine isn’t just partial to showing off his fineness in SoCal … the lucky folks here in NYC get to enjoy as well.

Chris Pine played a little b-ball with a friend in SoCal this weekend in one of the more interesting alleyways in Los Angeles. While I’m not sure who ended up winning their little game, the photos below show that Chris managed to shoot and score at least once … behold:

People magazine has released its annual issue devoted to the Hottest Bachelors of the year and have made their selection for this year’s coverboy. You may recall that the mag named Mario Lopez as the Hottest Bachelor of 2008 … but this year, the honor goes to Chace Crawford. Chace has been deemed by People magazine as the Hottest Bachelor of 2009:

Chace Crawford talks to his parents every day, vacations with his younger sister and – unlike his Gossip Girl character – says dating a married woman is “a definite no.” Without question, success (he’ll star in the Footloose remake) couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. To be honest, I thought for sure that British heartthrob Robert Pattinson was gonna get the nod from People magazine as the Hottest Bachelor of the Year. There ain’t a day that goes by that People doesn’t do a story or even a blurb about R. Pattz and his effect on his fans. He seemed the shoe-in choice for this year’s #1 Hottest Bachelor … but clearly I was wrong. That’s not to say that Chace Crawford isn’t a great pick … he’s deffo a much-in-demand hottie and is an excellent choice for Hottest Bachelor of 2009. Chris Pine, who we have been seeing more of here on the blog since he has become the new James T. Kirk in JJ Abrams‘s reboot of Star Trek, was spotted enjoying a quiet afternoon with the newspaper and no shirt (!!!) in SoCal over the weekend. Of course, when he noticed that he was being photographed he decided to start picking his nose for the paps … but, IMHO, that did nothing to quell his hawt appeal:

You gotta love a man with a sense of humor (at least, I hope the nose picking was for laughs). It’s been heating up in SoCal in the past few days so I can understand how Chris might want to wear as little clothing as possible when he is out in public … it’s a practice I wish more dudes in Hollywood would adopt. Keep it up, Chris!
