Yesterday we saw the first photos of convicted felon Chris Brown, who is serving out a sentence of community service in his home State of Virginia after he plead guilty to physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, working his first day of his 180-day court ordered community service punishment and today we get to see video of the convict actually engaged in his first day of hard labor:

While I wouldn’t mind seeing Brown chained to a ball and chain as he breaks rocks with a sledge hammer, I am OK with seeing him rummaging thru the horse shit and waste of a Virginia police horse stable instead. After the jump, watch video of Chris Brown serving out day one of his court-ordered punishment for his felonious crimes …

Even tho Brown isn’t behind bars, it is of some comfort to see his sorry ass forced to clean up and dispose of heavy metal bars and other waste as part of his punishment. In the end, I still think he is getting off way too easy but at least he is repaying his debt to society. 1 day down and 179 more to go!!

7 months after he brutally assaulted his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, Chris Brown finally began serving the punishment handed down to him by a Los Angeles judge after he was convicted of said assault earlier this Summer. Here is a photo of felon Chris Brown cleaning the grounds in and around a Virginia police horse stable earlier today:

The State of Virginia isn’t horsing around when it comes to Chris Brown’s debt to society for his assault on Rihanna. Brown, 20, wearing a reflective vest and a red cap, was seen cleaning the grounds in and around a Virginia police horse stable Wednesday, part of his six-month community labor sentence. The singer, who has repeatedly apologized for his crime, Tweeted Wednesday: “On my way to community service.” Brown’s sentence, which amounts to more than 1,400 hours, will also include graffiti removal, washing cars, and cleaning and maintaining other grounds. He will also serve a five-year probation sentence, attend a year of domestic violence classes and pay fines. Plus, he is also forbidden from contacting Rihanna for the next five years.

Even tho, IMHO, this punishment is nowhere near as severe as it should be considering the magnitude of his heinous crime, I hope with all my might that Chris Brown is subjected to as much horse shit as possible in this police horse stable. After the jump, check out a couple more photos of Brown repaying his debt to society …

I truly hope that his community service punishment is as hard and gross as possible because he has much to answer and pay back for his crimes. Altho I do no plan on covering much Chris Brown news here on the blog, I will happily share any and all photos of the convict engaged in serving out his punishment.

Chris Brown, who is currently in his homestate of Virginia paying for his conviction for brutally assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna, has posted a message on his official Twitter profile alerting fans to the fact that he has completed work on his new album titled Graffiti. But, will anyone be buying it when it gets released? Here is our first look at the (possibly fan-made) album artwork for Graffiti and the full text of Chris’s tweet message:

GRAFFITI!!!! COMIN SOON…. JUST FINISHED IT…HANDS DOWN … MY BEST ALBUM… THATS ALL IMA GIVE AWAY RIGHT NOW..

I sincerely hope this album artwork isn’t the real final mock and is just a fan-made creation cuz the word Graffiti is misspelled. To be honest, I was never a big Chris Brown fan before he revealed himself to be a brutal little monster, so I can pretty much assure you I won’t be picking up this album whenever it gets released. I don’t know that Chris Brown will have much success in the wake of his assault conviction but I suspect there are still many who will support his career, regardless of his brutal actions.

A contrite and power blue-clad Chris Brown paid a visit to the CNN studio here in SoCal last week to tape an interview for the Larry King Live show which is set to air this coming Wednesday September 2. With his crying mother, Joyce Hawkins, and his pitbull lawyer, Mark Garagos, by his side, Brown talks with Larry King about the heinous crime of assault that he has been punished for and his plans for a crime-free life ahead. Here are a couple photos from his upcoming appearance on the show along with some preview deets about the interview itself:

He looks so young. And he is. At 20, Chris Brown is not old enough to buy a beer without breaking the law. But he got himself into a world of legal trouble when he assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna in February. “We have to be like 10 yards away from each other,” Brown softly tells CNN’s Larry King in an exclusive interview to air Wednesday night – his first television interview since his arrest. Brown still loves Rihanna. He tells King he’s still in love with her. Even tougher for him is looking at the photo. You know the one—the image that might haunt, and define Brown forever. “When I look at it now, it’s just like, wow, like, I can’t — I can’t believe that — that actually happened.” He adds he does not remember performing the violent acts that have changed his life. Yet Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault on June 22. The deal keeps him out of jail. A second felony charge, making criminal threats, was dropped. He was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community labor. What does it mean? “It means he walks the straight and narrow for five years,” Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos tells King. “I’ve grown to love this kid like a son or a nephew. I have a high degree of confidence — I’ll say it now so that you can play it back if he ever does anything — but a high degree of confidence that he’s not going to do anything like this in the future.” Brown agrees, saying “everything comes with consequences. They want me to pick up trash remove graffiti.” He calls the sentence fair. “I’m a hard worker. It’s something I’m willing to do.” Why did it happen? How did it happen? They are questions Brown and his mother, Joyce Hawkins, have been asking. “Chris has never, ever been a violent person, ever,” Hawkins tells King.

While Brown’s mother insists that her son was “never, ever … a violent person” she goes on to explain to King (and, of course, the viewing audience) that Brown’s father was the abusive one, clearly in an attempt to shift the blame of Brown’s actions? After the jump, read on and judge for yourselves …

She said her husband was abusive – and Brown knew it. “I used to be scared to go to bed,” the singer recalls. He’s not blaming that for the attack on Rihanna. Still he says, “nobody taught us how to love one another. Nobody taught us a book on how to — how to control our emotions or our anger.” He adds, “I wish I could have changed that night.” Rihanna calls Brown’s mother “Mom”. The two have spoken and seen each other periodically since the incident. The court order that prevents her son from seeing Rihanna does not extend to Joyce. “(I) let her know that I was very, very baffled, what had happened, and apologized for my son, along with I’m so sorry what happened to you. And I didn’t know what — I didn’t know what else to say, and I gave her a hug, and she hugged me, as well.” Hawkins then cries. “I just need to prove to people I can be a role model,” Brown says. “That’s not who I am as a person, and that’s not who I promise I want to be,” the singer laments. It’s been a couple of months since he saw Rihanna, and admits the separation has been “difficult.” He’s sad when asked about her dating other men. “I definitely would be affected by it, but, at the end of the day, I mean, we’re not together, so, if she’s happy, I’m cool.” Would he be with her now if things had been different that night? Brown says only, “We’ll always be friends.” And as much as Chris Brown wants to move on, he‘s left with this: “I made a mistake, and I — and it was just something I have to live up and own.”

I’m sorry … but all of this sounds like a bunch of bullshizz to me. Chris Brown is “sad” that Rihanna is dating other men? Who the eff cares if that little shit is sad or not? HE BEAT HER BLOODY, I could care less how sad he is about anything! I’m not sure I need to see this interview, while I believe in redemption, I don’t know that I really care to see Chris Brown try to charm away the disgusting crime he has been convicted and sentenced for. Still, here is a video clip from Brown’s upcoming appearance on the Larry King Live show to give you a better idea of it’s something you might want to watch when it airs Wednesday night:

Embedded video from CNN Video

Yeah, no … I don’t really need to see anymore. I’m still entirely disgusted by what this little monster did … I’d rather he just have his ass sent off for punishment rather than have him appearing on national TV trying to explain away his heinous crimes.

Yesterday Chris Brown was in LA Court to face formal sentencing for his June criminal conviction for assaulting his former girlfriend Rihanna last February. As you may recall, Brown was due to be sentenced earlier this month but was delayed a couple of weeks. Brown was sentenced to 5 years probation, 6 months (or 1,400 hours) of community service and is ordered by the judge to NOT to be in contact with Rihanna for the duration of his 5 year probation (he also must stay at least 10 yards from her if they attend the same event). Here are pics of Brown and his lawyer Mark Geragos in court at yesterday’s sentencing:

Chris Brown will spend 1,400 hours removing graffiti and washing cars for assaulting Rihanna. Brown, 20, was formally sentenced in a Los Angeles courtroom Tuesday to six months of community labor in Virginia after he pleaded guilty in June to one count of felony assault against Rihanna, 21. Brown’s six-month labor sentence will be supervised by the chief of police in Richmond, Va., who wrote to the judge that Brown would perform graffiti removal, cleaning and maintaining grounds, and washing cars. “Brown’s labor hours will be flexible to accommodate his entertainment career,” according to DA spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons. The singer, who looked solemn and wore a black pinstripe suit and matching tie, was also sentenced to five years of probation, a year of domestic violence classes, and was ordered to pay fines. He was accompanied in the courtroom by his mother and at least one bodyguard. As part of his plea bargain with prosecutors, a second felony charge of making criminal threats was dropped. Rihanna was not present for the hearing. Donald Etra, an attorney for the “Umbrella” singer, had previously asked the judge for lesser restrictions on communication and contact between the two singers. However, L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg ordered Brown not to have any communication with Rihanna for the next five years, which includes phone and email contact. Brown was also ordered not to come within 100 yards of Rihanna – 10 yards if they’re both at the same event. Toward the end of the hearing, Judge Schnegg warned Brown, in an apparent reference to reports that the two singers may have had contact against court order: “I’m not immune to any chatter on the airwaves. Do you understand, Mr. Brown, that any violation of this order is a violation of your probation and it comes with the possible penalty of prison?” Brown responded “Yes.” Asked if Rihanna was disappointed by the stay-away order, her lawyer stated: “There were no surprises today. The decision was up to the court, not Rihanna.” Etra added that Rihanna does have the option of asking the court to soften the stay-away order down the line, but he wouldn’t say if she plans to do so. Etra added that while the order specifically forbids Brown from contacting Rihanna, she was also warned by the court back in June not to contact him.

I have to say, the order that Chris has to stay away from Rihanna for such a long time is surprising, I don’t recall hearing that that was part of any deal previously reported. Also, in the wake of Brown’s sentencing, new documents have come to light chronicling a history of violence between the couple BEFORE he physically assaulted her in February of this year. After the jump, check out the deets of their violent relationship if you dare …

Rihanna and Chris Brown had two previous violent episodes before the Feb. 8 fight, which ultimately led to Brown’s arrest and felony conviction, court documents reveal. The “Umbrella” singer allegedly slapped Brown in a heated argument three months prior to the February incident, according to Brown’s probation review released Tuesday. In that previous fight, which occurred in Europe, Brown responded by pushing Rihanna into a wall, the documents say. The couple “were involved in a verbal dispute and [she] slapped [him].” Brown “responded by shoving her into a wall.” A second fight occurred about three weeks prior to the Feb. 8 incident. Brown and Rihanna “were visiting Barbados and were driving a Range Rover loaned to them,” according to the documents. “They had an argument inside the car. [Brown] exited and broke the front driver and passenger side windows of the car. No one was injured during the incident.” The documents also reveal that in the Feb. 8 incident, which began after Brown allegedly received a text message from a previous lover, that Rihanna “said she became ‘enraged’ and slammed both of her fists against the dashboard,” which led to Brown pulling the Lamborghini over and trying to force her out, which escalated into a physical fight. Lawyers for both Rihanna, 21, and Brown, 20, weren’t immediately available for comment. In a June 26 interview with his probation officer, Brown stated that since the Feb. 8 fight, he had been very “depressed.” Brown stated he grew up watching his mother being physically abused and said he did not want to “carry on that cycle.” Brown repeatedly told the officer he regretted the incident, and said he initially wanted to plead guilty right away, but his attorney advised against it. “I want to take responsibility for my mistake,” Brown told the officer, adding he is “totally remorseful for what I have done.”

There had been rumors of violent fights between these two in the days before this last assault so none of this is really surprising. Neither is it surprising that Chris grew up in a violent home, which very likely had an impact on how he turned out. Violence begets violence. It’s not an excuse, just an explanation. Hopefully Chris Brown will finally learn the error of this kind of behavior and will be able to live his life from here on out as a non-violent man. He’s young, there’s still hope.

Back in February, just days after we got word that Chris Brown brutally assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna, Wrigley’s announced that they would be suspending Brown’s commercials for Doublemint gum until his legal troubles could be settled. At the time, the chewing gum company decided to hold off on firing him from this ad campaign until a determination of his guilt could be made. After Brown plead guilty to assault in court last month, Wrigley’s has finally decided to FIRE Chris Brown from their ad campaign … as a Doublemint spokesperson, he is dunzo, y’all!

He was on the bubble for a while — but now Wrigley is “formally terminating” their relationship with Chris Brown. The chewing gum company had previously “suspended” their campaign with Brown in February after the incident with Rihanna, saying they “believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen.” But last month, Brown pled guilty to felony assault — and now Wrigley has given him the permanent heave-ho … which means you’re more likely to hear that “Double Your Pleasure” song at a wedding than on TV. So Chris dodged the jail bullet — but his wallet may have a more serious hit.

I am all for Chris Brown losing as many endorsement deals as possible because, really, does any company want to be associated with a known woman beater? The boy may be talented but he is also a menace and should be punished for his crimes. I’m sure this dark mark on his persona will fade in time and the new endorsement deals will come rolling in somewhere down the line but, on this regard, I’m happy to know that Chris Brown may actually begin to feel that he is being punished for his heinous crime.

Chris Brown, who was convicted of assaulting Rihanna after he copped a plea bargain with the prosecutor in June, was scheduled to be sentenced in court yesterday here in LA. Apparently, the ruling judge wants to ensure that Brown’s punishment is comprised of community labor (ie. cleaning public streets) rather than community service (ie. showing up at charity events) and because she could not be assured that her plans for his labor would be fulfilled in his home state of Virgina (where he will serve out his probation/labor) she postponed the sentencing until she could be satisfied:

A judge has delayed sentencing R&B singer Chris Brown on an assault charge to seek more input from Virginia authorities about whether Brown could do community labor in that state. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said at a hearing Wednesday she will sentence Brown on Aug. 27 in the beating of Rihanna, who did not attend the hearing. With Brown in the courtroom, the judge met in her chambers with a prosecutor and defense attorney briefly before Brown’s scheduled sentencing. When she emerged, Schnegg said Virginia had yet to say if it could accommodate her requirement that Brown serve community labor, rather than community service. The judge has said she wants Brown to do community work comparable to graffiti removal or roadside cleanup. The Virginia Department of Corrections said earlier that it typically doesn’t consider whether to supervise a person on probation until after they are sentenced. The 20-year-old Brown pleaded guilty in June to one count of felony assault stemming from the altercation with his then-girlfriend. A plea deal calls for him to serve five years of probation and six months of community labor.

Despite Brown’s videotaped apology last month, I still think he has much to be sorry and pay for. I am very relieved to hear that the judge is taking his punishment very seriously and is working to ensure that the young man is forced to WORK for his punishment. Community service is practically a joke, especially when it is used on celebs as punishment. I think 6 months of hard labor cleaning up the community streets might do the lad some good. While I personally believe that he’s getting off easy with any punishment that doesn’t involve jail time, I’m somewhat satisfied to learn that his punishment won’t be a cakewalk. We’ll see if that is actually the case.

Chris Brown has released a short video today addressing his fans and offering up his apologies for his assault on his ex-girlfriend Rihanna back in February. As y’all should know by now, Brown worked out a plea agreement where he will serve out a sentence of probation instead of going to prison for physically assaulting Rihanna. This new video is meant for Chris to talk directly to fans and apologize for his criminal behavior:

The video really speaks for itself. He reveals that he wanted to apologize sooner but decided not to on the advice of his lawyers. While I’m impressed that he does not offer any excuses for his criminal actions, he is still on my shitlist. I don’t know that I will ever be able to see Chris Brown the way I used to see him before this incident but, at the very least, he is finally offering up the apology that many people have been waiting for for some time. After the jump, check out the video in full and judge for yourselves if this mea culpa is good enough …

This might be the first sign that the kid is actually growing up and taking responsibility. Are YOU impressed?

Just hours after news broke of the death of Michael Jackson last Thursday, a tribute song titled Better on the Other Side (featuring The Game, Chris Brown, Sean P. Diddy Combs et al.) was leaked to the Internets in honor of the late King of Pop. Today, we get our first look at the accompanying music video. Be Warned: some of the lyrics may be offensive to some viewers:

Only a day after Michael Jackson’s untimely death, a few artists have come together to record a tribute song in remembrance of the late, great pop star. When Los Angeles based DJ Skee told his good friend, The Game, about the passing of Michael, the rapper was shocked. But once it sunk in, he locked himself in the studio and came out with “Better On The Other Side.” “After I called Game and told him the news, he put this tribute together and produced this amazing record,” DJ Skee tweeted Friday morning (June 26). “Yesterday I told Game about MJ’s death and he didn’t believe it.” The new song, which leaked Friday (June 26), featuring Game spitting alongside Chris Brown, Diddy, Polow Da Don, Mario Winans, Usher and Boyz II Men, while DJ Khalil produced the track.

I have to say, for the song being put together so hasitly after MJ’s death it’s not a bad song at all. I got to hear it last week but I think I like it better with a music video. The images of fans mourning MJ’s death makes it feel more poignant. It’s a very nice tribute, wouldn’t you agree?

So … we all prolly know by now that Chris Brown managed to work out a plea bargain in court yesterday that resulted in his conviction on felony assault against his ex-girlfriend Rihanna (who was also in court yesterday, apparently ready to tell her side of the story to the court). His punishment? 5 years probation and 180 days of “hard labor” cleaning up the streets of his home State of Virginia. I understand that this is a typical sentence for first time offenders of assault … which kinda sickens me. The court system is basically saying that you can assault a person of your choosing and only face probation and street cleaning as punishment. But I digress. Here are photos of both Chris Brown and Rihanna in court yesterday and a full rundown of the day’s events:

With Rihanna set to break her silence in her assault case, Chris Brown reached a plea agreement that spared him jail time, it was announced Monday. Brown, 20, will be sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community labor to be served in Virginia. He will also complete a year of domestic violence classes, and pay fines. In exchange, he pleaded guilty to felony assault by means likely to cause great bodily injury. “Mr. Brown, I think it’s commendable that you took responsibility for your conduct,” said Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg. Brown also was ordered to stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna – except at industry events, when it’s 10 yards – despite a request from Rihanna’s lawyer for a less-restrictive order. For now, Brown was also ordered not to have any contact with her, which includes by phone, email or text. “He’s very thankful to all the people who’ve been very supportive,” said Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos. “This is a kid who’s never been in trouble before, who wants to move past this and make sure that the message gets out that these kinds of things, of domestic violence, are not acceptable. And that he has accepted responsibility and continues to do so and embraces this as an opportunity for him to get his life back on track and his career back on track.” If he violates probation, Brown will face four years in prison. His formal sentencing is set for Aug. 5, when the court will drop a second charge of making criminal threats. Noting that Brown pleaded to a felony, Schnegg said, “I want Mr. Brown to be treated the same as any other defendant who would come into this court. That means something like Caltrans [trash pickup] or graffiti removal.” Brown had been charged with two felony counts – assault and making criminal threats – in the alleged fight that left Rihanna bruised and bloodied. The plea deal was reached shortly before Rihanna, 21, was to testify under subpoena in a preliminary hearing. Brown, wearing gray suit, off-white tie, and matching handkerchief in his front pocket, entered the courtroom shortly after 1:30 p.m. About 10 of his friends and family, including his mother, were seated in the audience.

After the judge addressed him, Brown left the courtroom and Rihanna, wearing a black dress and pearls, was brought in for the judge to explain the plea deal terms to the singer. The two were never in the courtroom at the same time. She stood before Judge Schnegg who told her that the court will consider reducing the stay-away order to the least-restrictive one after he’s sentenced. Rihanna’s only words in open court were: “Thank you, your honor,” before she was led out a special exit. According to a search warrant, Rihanna was assaulted during an argument that began when she read text messages from another woman on Brown’s phone as they driving in a Lamborghini in L.A. the morning before the pair were both scheduled to perform on the Grammy Awards. An enraged Brown allegedly tried to force her out of the car, hit her head against the passenger window, punched in her left eye and drove away while steering with one hand and continuing to punch her with the other, says the detective’s notes in the search warrant. As blood filled Rihanna’s mouth, Brown allegedly told her, “I’m going to beat the shit out of you when we get home. You wait and see!” Rihanna then pretended to call her assistant and left a fake message saying, “I am on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there.” The police notes say that prompted Brown to reply: “You just did the stupidest thing ever. Now I’m really going to kill you.”

I guess I’m kinda disgusted that the ruling judge commended Chris Brown for “taking responsibility” for his actions. If he had truly taken responsibility, he would’ve turned himself into cops months ago, admitted his crimes and served a real punishment for assault. What really happened was that his hot shot lawyer managed to work out a deal where Brown only got a slap on the wrists for his felonious actions. I suppose at this point we are to hope that Brown has learned his lesson and will stay out of trubs for the rest of his life. Should he violate his probation in any way in the next 5 years, I believe he will be slapped with a more substantial punishment. In the end, I suppose we should be glad that all of this drama is over. My hope is that Rihanna can move forward from all of this in a healthy manner. Let’s not forget, she is the victim in all of this … whether she chooses to believe it or not.
