Last week we saw lots of gorgeous pics of pregnant stars to try and predict which leading lady was due next… lots of readers guessed right, Bryce Dallas Howard gave birth to a baby girl this weekend. Congratulations!

The last few weeks have been so exciting since the arrival of baby Blue Ivy Carter, Beyonce and Jay-Z’s little girl, and amid the RUMORS of a new Brangelina bub, it has got me going baby crazy! Which celeb baby will be next? Which little prince or princess may be in the same school class at Blue? There are lots of pregnant mummas around at the moment (is there something in the water in LA?) Last week we got our first look at new promo stills from the upcoming sequel film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and today, by way of Pink reader Stef, we get to see another promo still released from the film. As you may recall, Bryce Dallas Howard was hired to replace Rachelle Lefevre (who was unceremoniously fired from the role) in the role of vampire Victoria in Eclipse and last August we saw the first photos of Bryce on set as Victoria. This new promo still gives us a better look at the new Victoria as she and vampire Riley (played by Xavier Samuel) try to hurt poor, sweet Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson):

Yeah … I don’t like it. I hate that Bryce has been cast as Victoria … I miss Rachelle. I’m certain die hard Twilighters will squeal with glee at the sight of this new still from the film but … not me. GRRR.

Bryce Dallas Howard officially stepped into the role of the evil vampire Victoria as filming got underway in Vancouver, BC on the set of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Having gotten the role after the former Victoria actress – Rachelle Lefevre – was fired by Summit Entertainment last month, Bryce and her co-star Xavier Samuel (who plays Victoria‘s minion vampire Riley in the film) got down to biz last night filming a steamy kissing scene:

Any last ditch efforts to allow Lefevre to step back into the role of Victoria are now completely dead, as if a stake was driven thru the heart of hope itself. I’m not sure how I feel about this frizzy wig that BDH has got goin’ on … but, well, she has to look like Victoria even tho Summit got rid of a perfectly good actress who actually looks like Victoria. I guess we’ll see how all of this turns out … but it’s officially on now. There’s not turning back … BDH is in the Twilight hiz.

Early in the week we saw photos of the Twilight B-List make their way to Vancouver, BC to begin production on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and they were followed by star Taylor Lautner a couple of days later … today we get to see photos of Taylor chillin’ with the B-Listers (including Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jackson Rathbone and Xavier Samuel) at an impromptu get-together in Vancouver a couple of nights ago:

And so it begins … as you can see in the Kellan photo, new castmember Bryce Dallas Howard is standing next to Ashley Greene … she must be trying to ingratiate herself to the rest of the cast, which is smart. It looks like Taylor is ruling the roost with the other castmates, which is a bit different than the way the pecking order was the last time. Taylor is lucky he got to keep his role as Jacob Black cuz, as we learned from the firing of Rachelle Lefevre, any one in the Twilight cast is expendable. Now that he’s kept the role that has elevated him to one of the main stars of the film franchise, Taylor looks much much happier these days ;) I mistakenly mentioned that Robert Pattinson made his way to Vancouver with the rest of the cast (well, he is still “on his way”, he just hasn’t arrived yet and is still in Los Angeles) … so until he and/or Kristen Stewart get into town, Taylor is top dog amongst the Twilights in Vancouver. Not bad, pup.

With filming to begin shortly on the third installment of The Twilight Saga, the support cast of newest sequel film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse have begun making their way to Vancouver, BC this week in preparation. While the big stars — Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner — prolly won’t be flying in to town until the last minute, the support staff has to arrive early. Here are pics of Kellan Lutz (who plays Emmet Cullen), Ashley Greene (who plays Alice Cullen), Xavier Samuel (who plays Riley, Victoria‘s newborn vampire) and the newly cast Bryce Dallas Howard (who plays Victoria, taking over for Rachelle Lefevre who was unceremoniously fired from the role just last week) arriving in Vancouver last night:

As you may already know, Kellan and Ashley play members of the central vampire family (the Cullens) in the film and Bryce plays the evil vampire Victoria who is hellbent on killing Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart) for her role in the killing of her beloved companion James (played in Twilight by Cam Gigandet) who was actually slaughtered by hero vamp Edward (played by Robert Pattinson) while saving Bella. Xavier will play Riley, a newborn vampire created by Victoria to lead her army of vamps against the Cullens and their tenuous werewolf friends (lead by Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner) who are banded together to protect the life of the very human Bella. Ye gods, you just *know* a story this epic is going to be AWESOME! Well, we’ll see. The other castmembers of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse should be streaming into Vancouver all week long … so get ready, Canucks. The vampires are coming.

Now that the back and forth feud between ex-Twilight actress Rachelle Lefevre and Summit Entertainment has quieted down a bit (at least in public), I guess Bryce Dallas Howard feels comfortable enough to show her face in public. As you may recall, BDH was hired by Summit to take over the role of evil vampire Victoria (formerly portrayed by Lefevre) in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse earlier this week … but she has pretty much stayed out of the public eye since news broke of her casting in the film. But yesterday, Bryce stepped out here in SoCal to show off her vampy red hair perhaps in an effort to show fans that she can make a good Victoria in the upcoming film:

Well, if merely having red hair makes you Victoria then Bryce should have nothing to worry about. BUT, I personally quite liked Lefevre‘s portrayal of Victoria in Twilight and I’m not really a big fan of Bryce Dallas Howard. She failed to impress me in The Village, Lady in the Water, Spider-Man 3 or Terminator: Salvation. I’m sure she’s been in more films but those are the ones I’ve seen and did not particularly care for. Considering some of the other acting performances that were featured in Twilight, I’m sure Howard will do a fine job in comparison but … I can’t say I’m looking forward to seeing her in the film. I guess we’ll see if she’s up to the task … I’m not holding my breath tho.

Surprising movie casting news for fans of the Twilight Saga films to pass along today … for some unknown reason, it has been decided by the powers that be at Summit Entertainment that Rachelle Lefevre be FIRED and Bryce Dallas Howard be hired in her place to play the role of the evil vampire Victoria in the third Twilight movie The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The surprise casting news comes completely out of the blue, but straight from the horse’s mouth. Rachelle is dunzo as Victoria, Bryce takes over the role when filming of Eclipse begins next month:

Bryce Dallas Howard is joining the “Twilight” franchise. The “Terminator Salvation” star will replace Rachelle Lefevre in the role of Victoria, according to Summit Entertainment, which produces the vampire film series based on the books by Stephenie Meyer. “We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions, said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “Rachelle brought ‘Victoria’ to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”

Summit said Rachelle would not be continuing on as Victoria, an evil vampire out for revenge over the death of her lover, due to scheduling conflicts. Bryce, the daughter of director Ron Howard, will take over the role beginning in “Eclipse,” the third installment in the “Twilight” series. “Eclipse” begins filming in Vancouver this coming August, Summit confirmed. The film will be released in theaters on June 30, 2010.

Whoa!! This is totally out of the blue … and without any real explanation. To me, it seems as if one of two things happened here … either Summit jumped at the chance of hiring a big name actress to add to the movie franchise (presumably to get more people interested in the Twilight phenomenon — as if that is even possible) or Rachelle did something to really piss off her bosses and she was summarily fired from the role. Mebbe both things happened (cuz I really DO NOT BELIEVE that Rachelle is not available for the role due to “scheduling conflicts” — that’s a bullshizz story if I ever heard one) … but my gut tells me that the studio decided to sign on a more well-known actress who prolly expressed interest and felt no qualms about axing the “no name” actress who originated the role. To be honest, I thought Rachelle Lefevre did an amazing job as Victoria in Twilight and it sucks that she would be treated so terribly by the studio. Still, this is Hollywood and these things happen all the time. I wonder if we should expect any other cast changes as well. What do y’all think about this … good news or bad?
