Mario Lopez Is A Werewolf Wannabe

Mario Lopez, host of Extra! TV, is hoping to use his half-nekkid body to cash in on the crazy Twilight hysteria by imagining himself as a member of the werewolf pack in The Twilight Saga: New Moon … here is the result:

Mario Lopez is proving he’s “got the guns,” as Kristen Stewart has said. “Extra” superimposed the shirtless host into a “New Moon” promo shot. Check out behind-the-scenes footage of Lopez here. Lopez fits right in with Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier. In a sit-down interview with “Extra,” Pelletier — who is nicknamed “Slater Jr.” — joked to Lopez that, “when we were casting this thing I thought I was gonna lose my role out to you.” Added Meraz, “You’re the missing wolf pack member!” Taylor Lautner says it’s “definitely a possibility” that Lopez could join the pack. Stewart was more sure. “You totally could be,” she said. “We’ll get you in there,” Spencer promised.

Damn … yeah, he fits in nicely … werewolf tattoo and all. What do y’all think, does Mario Lopez look like a bona fide member of the Twilight wolf pack to you?

Peter Facinelli Hangs Out With Some Werewolves On The Set Of ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

Filming continues on the Vancouver, BC set of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and today we get to see a few photos of Peter Facinelli, the daddy vampire of the Cullen family, hanging out with Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier who make up the werewolf pack that is featured in both Eclipse and New Moon. In case you are unaware, Facinelli is the one who is practically glowing in the dark in these photos:

Since all the wolves are wearing matching robes, methinks they are shooting a shirtless scene and are all covered up in between takes. It’s been a long while since I’ve read Eclipse so I don’t really recall what part of the story this is but … I’m sure it’ll all come together in the end. These are fun pics and all but I think I’d much rather see more pics of Twilight star Kellan Lutz in the gym.

Meet The Wolves Of ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’

USA Today has our first look at the young men cast to portray the werewolf pack that is featured in the upcoming sequel film The Twilight Saga: New Moon … as you can see from this newly released promo photo, the guys are in full costume … which basically means that they are half-nekkid. We’ve seen the guys here on the blog before but never in such a revealing way … behold:

Step aside, aloof vampires with all your undead issues. The wolf pack is ready to howl. Unlike cold-blooded neck biters, these poster guys for animal magnetism are hot. So hot that their temperature runs a steady 108 degrees, as anyone who has read Stephenie Meyer’s series of gothic romances knows. That gives them a great excuse to doff their shirts on-screen and expose the physiques they’ve been pumping up for playing werewolves in The Twilight Saga:New Moon, the sequel to last year’s supernatural sensation, due Nov. 20. Four actors — Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier, all with Native American heritage — join Taylor Lautner, 17, who returns as a hairier, scarier Jacob Black. The plotline finds Jacob growing closer to a distraught Bella (Kristen Stewart) after her vampire beau, Edward, runs off. Among wolf pack job requirements: the ability to work half-naked no matter what the weather in the Vancouver, B.C., area, where the film has been shooting for several weeks. “It’s not pleasant for the actors,” says director Chris Weitz. “But they have all been good-natured. They show up on location in drenching, cold rain, and I say, ‘OK, off with the robes.’ ”

If Twilight is all about the vampires, then New Moon is all about the werewolves. But it saddens me that this new photo does not feature the top dog, as it were, Jacob Black (played by Taylor Lautner). I suspect the movie producers are going to keep his reveal underwraps for a while so that they can feature him all by himself. I know there is a lot of vamp love among Twilighters but I think the wolf boys deserve some attention of their own. After all, I don’t recall that any of the Cullen men get half-nekkid in any of the books … isn’t that reason enough to give a little love to Team Wolves?

'New Moon' castmembers have a power lunch
A Pack Of Wolves Have Been Spotted In Vancouver

Chris Weitz, director of the upcoming movie The Twilight Saga: New Moon, was spied having a power lunch with a few new castmembers from this new film. Alex Meraz, Bronson Pelletier, Tyson Houseman and Taylor Lautner (who we already know will reprise his role as Jacob Black) joined Weitz for a bite to eat in Vancouver, Canada (where the film is currently in production) yesterday afternoon. It is being reported that the new castmembers, the ones who are playing Native American parts, are actually Native American themselves. Here are a few pics from yesterday’s summit … be warned, the following report may contain spoilers for those of you who have yet to read the book:

Summit Entertainment has brought on a cast of American Indian actors to star in the werewolf and vampire-themed “New Moon,” the sequel to “Twilight”. The studio has hired Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman to form the ensemble Wolf Pack, who in Stephenie Meyer’s novel take the side of the humans in their fight against the evil breed of vampires. All five will make their big-screen debuts in the film. Taylor Lautner previously had been cast as Jacob Black, also a member of the Wolf Pack. Summit noted that all of the actors are of American Indian descent, with Sioux, Purepecha and Hualapai among the tribes represented. Meyer made the announcement on her Web site after weeks of rumors that director Chris Weitz was close to casting members of the Wolf Pack.

I understand that it was very important for the studio to hire Native American actors for these roles, which I think is a very smart move. Not only does hiring Native American actors give new opportunities to actors that may not get much work already but it will also give the film a level of authenticity. I’m pretty sure we won’t be seeing any of these young gents in any wolf costuming … that is, until the movie comes out in November … but it’s nice to see that they look like a handsome bunch. Do these guys look like the Quileute characters you envisioned from the book?
