People magazine just revealed its list of the Hollywood’s Hottest Bachelors of 2008, choosing Mario Lopez to top the list. Here are a few pics of some of the bachelors who made their list this year and a portion of People‘s interview with Mario Lopez:

Mario Lopez may be PEOPLE’s Hottest Bachelor – but the A Chorus Line star and fitness buff has a shocking admission: He was a chubby baby. “I looked like a sumo wrestler,” Lopez says in a new interview. “My mom had to pull the fat folds apart when she bathed me!” But that’s all in his past. As fans know, Lopez has mined his love of fitness to create his own book, Mario Lopez’s Knockout Fitness. The exercise guru, who is recently single, says that a full slate of projects has kept him off the dating market but that hasn’t stopped him from thinking about dating completely. “I like a girl who’s from a modest sort of upbringing, because it’s more relatable,” he says, explaining what he looks for in a potential girlfriend. “I’m a first-generation American. My parents [Elvia and Mario Sr.] emigrated from Mexico and live in the same house I grew up in Chula Vista, Calif. I’d feel weird if the girl was a little too uppity or affluent, because I’m a very down-home kind of guy.”

It’s interesting that Mario was chosen to top the list of People‘s Hottest Bachelors because he *just* broke up with his girlfriend Karina Smirnoff (of Dancing with the Stars fame) just a few weeks ago (I wonder who the #2 guy was/is). In any event, the full list of bachelors who made the cut this year is revealed in the new issue of People magazine (which hits newsstands on Friday) but People.com has a gallery of some of the guys who made the cut. I totes understand why dudes like Adam Levine, Terrance Howard and Gerard Butler made the list but I’m surprised that Bryan Spears (Britney‘s older brother) and Hunter Johansson (Scarlett‘s twin brother) made the list. Neither one is a big name in Hollywood and, yet, they still are listed among the hottest bachelors in Hollywood. Something tells me that the People list was pretty thin so they had to beef it up with extraneous family guys (not that either Bryan or Hunter aren’t hawt enough, I just think they’re not famous enough). In any event, congrats (?) goes out to the lucky dudes who made the list … I suppose kudos are in order for being hawt and single.

So … in the short history of reality TV programming we’ve had Bachelors lookin’ for ladies, Bachelorettes lookin’ for dudes and this summer, we’ll have Paris Hilton lookin’ for a new BFF … so of course Brody Jenner, of The Hills fame, has to get in on the action as well. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Brody Jenner just signed on for his own competitive reality TV show for MTV entitled Bromance, wherein interested “bros” (I’m assuming straight dudes) compete for a chance to become an official part of Brody‘s entourage. Um yeah:

The show, from Ryan Seacrest’s production company, will feature a group of “regular guys” who come to Hollywood and compete in a series of challenges from skydiving to dealing with the paparazzi — in the hopes of ultimately being chosen by Jenner to become part of his entourage. Along the way, contestants will be whittled down via “Hot Tub Elimination Ceremonies” after which rejected “bros” will be asked to leave the bachelor pad dripping wet in a swimsuit, luggage in hand. Bringing to mind various dating reality shows, contestants also will have shots at a “group date” and “alone time” with Jenner in every episode. “‘Bromance’ takes a successful TV format and turns it on its head,” MTV senior vp series development Liz Gateley said. “Brody is the perfect fit for this concept; he is type of guy everyone wants to hang out with.” … Frankie Delgado, who also appears on “The Hills,” is a producer. The project was packaged by ICM.OMG! I love it! I can’t wait to see what these “hot tub eliminations” look like … not to mention the “group date” and “alone time” segments. So lemme get this straight, interested “regular guys” are going to compete for “alone time” with Brody Jenner in the hopes that they escape “hot tub elimination” on a weekly basis? And the prize is, essentially, winning Brody Jenner? Didn’t we already see a show like this called Boy Meets Boy? Hee hee … I jest, I jest. I dunno if this sort of thing has the wings to fly but it’s an interesting-sounding concept. I can attest that hanging out with Brody Jenner is really fun so the prize is deffo worthwhile. I’m glad that Brody‘s getting his own show … it’d be cool to see him on TV from week to week … well, again. I just hope that Bromance stays on the air longer than Princes of Malibu did ;) [Source]

The Hills star Brody Jenner took his fine booty down to Maui, HI for a family vacay to celebrate his brother Brandon Jenner‘s birthday this week. The family vacay includes Brody and Brandon‘s mother Lisa Thompson as well as their respective girlfriends — including Brody‘s new main squeeze Cora Skinner. I’m glad to see that he’s settled down with one chick (at least, for the time being) because he hasn’t looked this happy in a long time.
