Britney Spears‘s official website at BritneySpears.com has been updated with new insider photos from a dance routine rehearsal that Brit held this past Friday night. Britney and her cast of dancers appeared to be working on a routine possibly for a live performance of her new single Womanizer or maybe even a new music video altogether. Here are a few pics of Britney, one with whip in hand, at Friday night’s rehearsal:

Friday night Britney had dance rehearsal to work on a new routine. Britney, her choreographer Andre, and her dance crew had a blast playing around with some new moves. If you look closely, you’ll see that Britney is indeed holding a whip! Looks like her new music video might be even hotter than “Womanizer!”

I would LOVE it if Britney were actually working on her next music video already but something tells me that this routine might really be for an upcoming live performance. There was much speculation that Britney was gonna perform at the 2008 MTV VMAs in September but that didn’t happen. We’ve since learned that Britney may be appearing at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards which will be held in Liverpool, England on November 8. Naturally, there is new speculation that if she appears then she might also perform that night. Britney has also been confirmed to appear on X-Factor (the British American Idol) later on this year so she might be rehearsing for that. Personally, I don’t care what she’s rehearsing for … I’m just glad to see her hard at work. She’s been lookin’ real good for some time now … this is just another sign that she is back on the comeback track! Woot!

After much hype and even more delay, BritneySpears.com has finally launched and is live right now. You may recall that at the start of this month we were told that Britney‘s new official website would be launching “soon” but that registration for the site was underway at CircusVIP.com. Then, around the time that the Womanizer music video was to debut, BritneySpears.com started counting down … to something. Many folks believed the countdown was to the site’s official launch but the number reached zero — and nothing happened. Now, about a week later, the site is finally live and functional:

This is the first message posted to visitors of the site: Hey everyone!! Team Britney here! Brit’s sent us some awesome videos she shot recently and we’re so excited to show them to you! Brit was in Los Angeles doing some fun interviews for the site and the whole crew from Entertainment Tonight were outside the door in the next room waiting to talk to her! But Brit took some time out of her busy schedule to record a message for you guys! Hope you enjoy the vid! More later… bye!

The site offers a blog, videos, music, photos and “more coming soon”. The site is pretty bare as is it stands but I can see the potential for more to come … especially as the release date for her new album Circus nears. Britney Spears has launched a new official website at CircusVIP.com (which will likely point from BritneySpears.com eventually) that is live and online now:

“Welcome to the most exclusive Britney community online right now!” says Lauren, Britney’s Social Media Director. “By participating in this community, we are shaping the future of Britney online.” The current site reads “New official site coming soon” but the new BritneySpears.com will finally relaunch later this month. Stay tuned! “They’re working with people at unofficial Britney fan sites to brainstorm about what fans really want,” a Spears family insider reveals. “Britney’s going to be very involved, posting her videos, photos and notes to fans and breaking exclusives, like new music.”
