Over the weekend we got our first look at the deluxe box set version of Britney Spears: The Singles Collection which collects all 29 of Britney‘s singles together in one package … but today we get to see the album artwork for the standard edition of the collection, which features 18 songs on one disc. Here is our first look at what the standard album artwork looks like:

Because this image comes from a Britney Spears fan site, it’s worth noting that it could be a fanmade fake. Judging by the simple nature of the artwork, it’s impossible to tell if it’s really real or not. Then again, some foreign outlets do leak news and information from record labels early so we won’t really know until we hear something official. In any event, you the Britney Spears consumer, will have the option of shelling out for this single disc collection with only half of her singles or you can shell out for the more expensive deluxe box set. Which of the two will you be purchasing … or will you be getting both?

A couple of weeks ago we learned that Britney Spears would be releasing her first ever singles collection in November entitled Britney Spears: The Singles Collection and earlier this week we saw the official artwork for Britney’s new single 3 which will be included in the set. The collection will be released in a standard version, featuring 18 of her hit singles, and in a deluxe box set version, featuring all 29 of her officially released singles … here is what that box set will look like:

To be honest, I already own every single one of these singles in their individual jewel cases (collected as each was released over the years) but seeing this deluxe box package kinda makes me want to own this as well. I know, it’s crazy … who even buys CDs anymore but … I kinda like the idea of all 29 of her singles packaged together in a box like this. Truly, this set is being made available for the hardcore Britney Spears fan while the standard version is being made for the casually interested fan. I’m pretty sure I’ll be ponying up for this set … will you?

Last week we learned that Britney Spears would be releasing her first ever Singles Collection in November which will include a new single called 3, scheduled to premiere on radio tomorrow. Today we get our first look at the single cover artwork for 3:

Woot!! New Britney Spears music!! Are y’all ready?? I hope the song is a club-jammer cuz I’m really expecting a big, upbeat dance track. Max Martin, the writer of 3 and many of Britney‘s other big hit singles, usually brings the heat … I can’t wait to hear what 3 sounds like.

BritneySpears.com has just been updated with the news that our dear Britney will be releasing her first Singles Collection (which, apparently, is different from a greatest hits collection … which she has previously released) in November. This Singles Collection will feature 17 singles in both a deluxe version and a standard version. The collection will also feature a new song titled 3 which will hit radio stations on September 29. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of her debut on the music scene, Jive Records is releasing Britney Spears The Singles Collection on November 24. To launch the special package a brand new single entitled “3,” which Britney recently recorded with hitmaker Max Martin, will go to radio Tuesday, September 29. There will be two configurations of The Singles Collection; an ultimate fan box set and a standard version. The ultimate fan box set version of The Singles Collection will contain all 29 of her singles, including the new song “3.” Each disc will be packaged in its own slip sleeve case with original artwork, and will include an additional b-side or a remix of the track. The collection will include a DVD featuring all of Britney’s videos in chronological order. The ultimate fan box set will also include a special booklet featuring iconic images and fun facts about each track. The standard version of The Singles Collection will contain 17 of her chart topping favorites along with the new song “3,” all on one CD.

Um, yay? As I mentioned above … I’m not sure what makes Britney Spears: The Singles Collection any different than Greatest Hits: My Prerogative (except for the new singles that have been released since her greatest hits collection was released in 2004) but … it’s comin’! I’m most intrigued by this new single, written by Max Martin. Martin is responsible for writing some of Britney‘s biggest hit songs … I can’t wait to hear what 3 sounds like. But another collection of already released songs? Yeah … I’m not so sure. What do y’all think … will YOU be ponying up for this new collection of old songs?
