Cobra Commander Makes An Appearance In A New ‘G.I. Joe’ Movie Trailer

Back in February we got our FIRST LOOK at Joseph Gordon-Levitt in costume for his role as The Doctor in the upcoming Summer blockbuster film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. In the film, Gordon-Levitt’s character The Doctor eventually becomes Cobra Commander … and his appearance has been kept top secret leading up to the release of the film. But, with only a few weeks until the film opens in theaters, it is time to get more acquainted with The Doctor. Here are a few screencaps (and promo pics) from the Japanese trailer for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra:


I would say about 95% of the Japanese trailer contains footage that we’ve seen in the other trailers that have been released here in the US but this one includes the extra scene of The Doctor standing next to James McCullen (Destro) in the first few seconds of the video. First Look: Joseph Gordon-Levitt As Cobra Commander

ATTENTION: 'G.I. JOE: RISE OF COBRA' SPOILER ALERT WARNING

Yesterday we got our first look at the new SuperBowl movie trailer for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and today we get to see what Joseph Gordon-Levitt (who plays master villain Cobra Commander) will look like in the film … kinda. Until now, the secret about Cobra Commander in this film has been on lock down but this weekend, new bio cards for some of the G.I. Joe characters have made their way to the Internets, including Cobra characters Storm Shadow, Zartan and The Doctor:


One of these characters is JGL, I understand, as he will be seen thruout much of the film … but by the end of the movie he becomes Cobra Commander. As I recall, the man who eventually becomes Cobra Commander was a scientist who suffered a freak accident that destroyed his face, which left him mad, bitter and was required to wear a mask to cover his entire head.
