On Tuesday we learned from Billy Ray Cyrus, in a new interview with GQ Magazine, that he blames the Disney show Hannah Montana for “destroying” his family and today we are learning that his daughter Miley Cyrus is none too pleased with her daddy’s comments. In his interview, Billy Ray lamented that he no longer has any control of his daughter’s wild ways and he places the blame squarely on the show that made her a star. Apparently, Miley has expressed to the people around her that she is PISSED at Billy Ray for making such comments about her publicly and has even reportedly likened her father to Michael Lohan. To be honest, I highly doubt that Miley‘s decision to experiment with … stuff … has anything at all to do with Billy Ray‘s control. The girl is a millionaire, she’s gonna do whatever the Hell she wants irregardless of what her parents have to say about anything. That being said, divorce can be really hard on kids … and 18 or not, Miley is still a kid. She may be acting out in an effort to win attention from her parents. Whatever the case may be, here’s hoping both Billy Ray and Tish can be there to parent their child … well, as best they can.

Welp, another celebrity marriage has bit the dust. Yesterday it was revealed that Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife Leticia have decided to end their marriage of 17 years by filing for divorce. The couple, who are enjoying new found fame as the parents of Miley Cyrus, released a joint statement about their split … read on:

Miley Cyrus’s parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, are divorcing after 17 years of marriage, they tell PEOPLE. “As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family,” they say in a statement. “We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.” The couple have five children, including the pop star. Divorce papers were filed Wednesday in Tennessee citing irreconcilable differences.

And so … the question becomes … which Cyrus parent will have managing control over their famous daughter? Despite the niceness expressed in their joint statement, things get very ugly in divorce proceedings. Invariably the issue of money will come up and that’s when things get nasty. Sure, both Billy Ray and Tish will still stay extremely rich but one of them will end up being richer … and that richer parent will be the one who wins Miley in the divorce. HMMMM. They’re being nice now … I wonder how long ’til the cracks begin to show.

Yesterday we learned the heartbreakingly crushing news that Miley Cyrus has decided to QUIT Twitter and made the rash decision to delete her official Twitter profile … after she was counseled to do so by her new boyfriend Liam Helmsworth. Late yesterday, Miley‘s father Billy Ray Cyrus caught wind of Miley‘s decision to abandon her legions of Twitter followers and BEGGED her to come back to the Twitterverse on his own official Twitter profile … he tweeted:

While I take great issue with Billy Ray‘s assertion that his daughter Miley is “a light in a world of darkness”, I can understand his desire to have his little girl reactivate her account as soon as possible. Twitter is an amazing tool to inspire your followers to support your endeavors (especially in a financial capacity) and I bet Billy Ray is BUMMED that his little money-making poppet has cut off a potential avenue of revenue. While he claims he wants Miley back on Twitter so she can inspire children to “stopkillinkids”, I suspect the impetus behind these tweets is more financial than anything else. Considering that Miley deleted her Twitter profile after her boyfriend told her to, it makes sense that she might reactivate her account now that her father is telling her to … the only problem is that it’s not so easy for Miley to read her pappy’s tweets without an account of her own … he might have better luck if he called her on the phone instead.
