Here are a few ADORABLE photos of proud parents Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz carting around thier little Butterball of a baby Bronx Mowgli on the family’s visit to NYC. Ashlee is in town for The CW upfronts presentation (you may recall she is a castmember on the new version of Melrose Place) and her fave guys came to the city with her … behold:

No word on if Ashl33n plan to take little Bronx to his namesake burrough but it looks like he’s getting to see a lot of Manhattan. I’m amazed at how big that little guy has gotten … and those cheeks KILL ME. He’s so cute.

Star magazine is reporting that Ashlee Simpson, wife of Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and mother to their 6-month old only begotten son Brownx Mowgli, is pregs again with the couple’s second child. Claiming that she is only “a few weeks along”, the tabloid maintains that Ashlee is trying to keep the news “private” for a couple of months. Ashlee made a red carpet appearance at a T-Mobile Sidekick party here in LA this week and she was lookin’ anything but pregs in her figure hugging little black dress. So … is she or isn’t she?

Ashlee Simpson is pregnant with another baby, Star Magazine reports, adding that its source says the singer is “just a few weeks along” and is “beyond thrilled” with the upcoming addition to her and husband Pete Wentz’s family. Though so, she opts to keep the news private “for at least two more months” before sharing it with the press. In related news, another tabloid reports Ashlee hopes the baby she is carrying will make her and Pete closer than ever as their hectic schedules have made them strained. “… She loves Pete and wants to hang on to him. She believes this second baby will really clinch the deal,” the tabloid reportedly writes. Unlike Ashlee, Pete is said not yet ready to father a second child. “He loves Ash and Bronx,” claims the tabloid when referring to how the Fall Out Boy bassist feels toward Ashlee and their baby boy. “But he also loves his freedom. He thinks a second kid could change things for the worse. He doesn’t want to be tied down and stuck at home all the time” No official confirmation nor denial has been made by Ashlee and Pete concerning Star Magazine’s report of her second pregnancy. The accuracy of the tabloid’s claim on the celebrity couple’s rocky marriage is also not yet addressed. Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were longtime lovers before they made their union official in a wedding ceremony held in May 2008. They welcomed the arrival of son Bronx Mowgli Wentz in November the same year.

Star mag was smart to include the bit about her being only “a few weeks along” … clearly, they know she doesn’t look pregs but their report can be more easily believed if they make that qualifier clear. Who knows, they could be right … of course, depending on who their sources are. It should be noted that celebs usually issue their denials pretty soon after false reports start making the rounds … as of yet, neither Ashlee nor Pete has made a comment one way or the other. It wouldn’t really surprise me if the couple does, in fact, plan to have a second child but it seems much too soon for her to be birthin’ another baby. Whatever the case may be, first — Ashlee looks sensational, second — the couple seems very happy together. I guess we’ll know sooner or later if Ashl33n are expecting or not. My gut says no … what do y’all think?

At the time, mama Nicole Richie (@nicolerichie) was not yet on Twitter (tho, she is on Twitter now), so the duty to show off Harlow‘s adorableness fell to papa Joel. Today, Ashlee Simpson (@ashsimpsonwentz) shows off a new photo of her adorable baby boy Bronx Mowgli on her official Twitter profile … papa Pete Wentz (@petewentz) has yet to share any baby pics on his Twitter profile page. As you may recall, the world got its first look at Bronx Mowgli back on Xmas day not on a magazine cover but instead on Pete‘s official website … it would seem that the Simpson-Wentz family is all about the sharing of the baby pics online. Yes, folks, Twitter is the new place for celebs to show off their personal pics … which, to me, is wholly fascinating. My Space used to be the place to go to in order for fans to get an inside look into the psyches of their fave celebs but the immediacy and intimacy of direct messages (and photos) from those same celebs on Twitter seems much more appealing. Just last night, Nicole Richie was posting her thoughts on last night’s ep of American Idol and Joel Madden was posting tweets as he traveled back home to SoCal from NYC. Right before she went to bed, Ashlee posted this new pic of Bronx … Twitter is where it’s at, y’all. Pete Wentz has gone on the record about plans for his wife Ashlee Simpson to join the cast of the Melrose Place redux that is currently in production for The CW. Talking to US Weekly on the red carpet of the 2009 Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards over the weekend, Pete reveals that it is his sincere hope that Ashlee plays the “bitch” on the show. Lovely. Here is a pic of the pair together at the 2009 MTV Australia Awards in Sydney, Aus last week:

Pete Wentz hopes his wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz gets to be a diva on Melrose Place. “I’m excited to watch. She’s a good actor,” Pete told Usmagazine.com at the Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday. “I think it will be awesome. I told her that I hope she gets to play the bitch.” Ashlee, 24, and Pete, 29, didn’t grow up watching the primetime drama, which went off the air in 1999. “She was way too young, and I was a little too young,” Pete said. “I was into 90210 and I kind of got into Melrose Place, but I was more, like, a Saved By the Bell kind of guy!” No matter: Pete says the spinoff, due to premiere in this fall on the CW, will be different than the original. “I think they are revamping it,” he said. “They are not ignoring [the past], but it’s getting a new look, a makeover.” Ashlee told Us earlier she was “thrilled” to play a lead character named Violet, a small-town girl who moves to L.A. with a secret.

Ha! To be honest, I totally get the sentiment that Pete is trying to convey. The bitchy character tends to get a lot of attention so why wouldn’t he want her to be the villain. Honestly, I don’t know that Ashlee has the chops to be able to pull off a role like that. That being said, it’s not toally unreasonable to think that a “small-town girl who moves to L.A. with a secret” can’t turn into an überbitch character. Kristen Davis played a horribly evil character on the original Melrose Place. She was so good at the role that I loathed the sight of her for years! It wasn’t until I got into Sex and the City (years after the show went off the air) that I found new love for her. I guess we’ll see who gets bitchy and who doesn’t when Melrose debuts on The CW this Fall.

MTV Australia handed out their annual Video Music Awards in Sydney last night and managed to bring a bunch of music stars down under for the lavish affair. Pete Wentz played host of the show while Hills star Audrina Patridge played host on the red carpet. Here are a few photos of some of the folks who came out for the MTV Australia Awards last night some deets from the event itself:

Hollywood starlet Ashlee Simpson joined her rocker husband Pete Wentz for an intimate moment on stage at the MTV Australia Awards. The couple surprised audiences with a lengthy kiss after introducing Kings of Leon performing via satellite from New Zealand. “Sorry we haven’t seen each other in a while,” Simpson said. “So we’re going to find a quiet place to go fornicate.” Wentz hosted the annual bash in Sydney, following in the footsteps of Simpson who hosted a few years ago. “I hosted this three years ago so I’m pretty much alumni,” Simpson said. Another surprise came in the form of 1990s rapper Vanilla Ice, who sang his hit Ice Ice Baby – delighting the crowd. Wentz showed off some rockstar antics by diving into the crowd as the Kaiser Chiefs launched into their song Never Miss A Beat. It was very much the Fall Out Boy bassist’s night as his band picked up the Best Rock Video award for their track I Don’t Care. US pop star Pink clinched best video for So What, while former Australian Idol Jessica Mauboy was crowned favourite Aussie. Katy Perry won the breakthrough artist gong, Britney Spears nabbed the best moves trophy, and Aussie band Sneaky Sound System got the independent spirit award. Earlier a raft of stars, including Australian glamour girls Dannii Minogue, Delta Goodrem and Lara Bingle, walked the red carpet at the award ceremony. Audrina Patridge from US reality TV show The Hills delivered gossip from the red carpet, joined by MTV presenters Darren McMullen, Ruby Rose and Maz Compton. US band The Killers opened the show at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour, followed by The Fray, Mauboy, Sia, Kaiser Chiefs, and Kings of Leon (via satellite). Later in the night Australian band Wolfmother rocked out with the world debut of their new single, Background.

Sounds like the Aussies had themselves a great time yesterday. For me, here in the US, it’s so strange to think of MTV VMA award shows happening at different times of the year in other countries. Because MTV traditionally has their big bash at the end of Summer, it’s weird for me to think that other MTV outlets around the world have their parties this early in the year. I think it’s really nice of MTV OZ to not only invite Vanilla Ice to their shindig but to allow him to perform as well. Mebbe we can get MC Hammer to do the same when we have our VMAs later this year. In any event, congrats to all the MTV OZ winners. Woot!

Last October we got word that The CW was planning to remake the wildly successful 90′s series Melrose Place since they successfully managed to remake Beverly Hills, 90210. At the time, there weren’t any concrete details about the new show (ie. would it follow the same format?), the casting (ie. who will play which character?) or even the name (ie. will it be called simply Melrose?). Since then there has been some news about the remake (including rumors that Mischa Barton may join the cast) with little concrete casting info making its way out … until now. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Ashlee Simpson has signed on to join the cast of the rejuvenated Melrose Place:

Multiple sources confirm that singer-songwriter-sometime actress Ashlee Simpson has become the latest tenant of The CW’s refurbished Melrose Place. The onetime 7th Heaven star will play small-town girl Violet, a character whose disarming naiveté masks the calculating, shrewd sex kitten within. In other words, the little tramp’s Sydney. Simpson joins a cast that so far includes Katie Cassidy (as ambitious publicist Ella), Michael Rady (as aspiring filmmaker Jonah), and, if there is a God, original Melrose icon Heather Locklear, who would be slipping back into Amanda Woodward’s office microminis. “Both sides are talking,” whispers my Melrose mole of Locklear. “It’s looking good.” Melrose 2.0, which is considered a lock to land a spot on The CW’s fall sked (most likely on Tuesdays after 90210), is being shepherded by Smallville’s Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin. Oscar winner Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) has been tapped to direct the pilot. Now for the big question: Did Simpson score the part that Mischa Barton had been circling? My sources tell me no. That means the ex-O.C. siren is in talks to … play straight-arrow med student Lauren or revoltingly sweet schoolteacher Riley.

To be honest, I hated 7th Heaven … and what little I saw of Ashlee on that show, I was not impressed. The vixen Sydney character sounds like a plumb role … I’m not sure that Ashlee is up to the task. Honestly, I think Mischa would make a much better vixen than Ashlee. All of this casting talk is very interesting … most of all, the notion that Heather Locklear might be reprising her role of Amanda Woodward. Doesn’t it seem that Amanda would be too old to contend with this new group of youngsters? Can she do it? I, for one, am interested to find out. I used to LOVE Melrose Place back in the day. Up until crazy Dr. Kimberly Shaw (played by the amazing Marcia Cross) blew the apartment building up, I was a very devoted fan. The show started to wane after that historic moment in pop culture. I can see how the new Melrose might be fun for a while … we’ll have to see if the redux is able to revive the overly dramatic magic that the original series created. What do y’all think … will this new series work?

In late January, we saw photos of Pete Wentz and his wife Ashlee Simpson (who had *just* given birth to their son Bronx Mowgli, who we got to see earlier today) on the set of CSI: NY since the happily married couple were filming scenes for an upcoming guest appearance on the show. Since then, the scenes have been filmed and a preview video has been put together. Here are a few screencaps from their guest appearance on the show:

Last Xmas, we got our first look at the newborn son of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz when the proud parents posted a photo of Bronx Mowgli on his daddy’s official website last December 25 … and we haven’t seen hide nor hair of the little tyke since — until now. Ashl33n made their way thru LAX Airport with little Bronx Mowgli in tow … the family was bound for a trip to Manchester, England:

As far as I can tell, this trip across the pond is Bronx‘s first to Europe and is most definitely the little guys first trip to the UK. It’s hard to tell if the little man is hiding flat-ironed hair underneath that little cap but my guess is … yeah, he is. It’s hard to believe that Ashlee‘s newborn baby is already so big … it won’t be long until we see photos of Bronx taking his first steps. He’s a little doll, ain’t he? I hope we’ll get to see more photos of the happy family as they make their way around the UK on this getaway.

Last week we learned that the happily married couple made up of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz signed on to make a guest appearance on the hit CBS series CSI: NY. This is the first bit of professional work that Ashlee has signed on for since she gave birth to the couple’s firstborn child Bronx Mowgli last November. The ep that Ashl33n will appear in airs on March 18 … but the couple were spotted the show’s LA street set last night … here are a few pics:

According to sources, the pair will not be playing themselves on this guest appearance. I understand that they will be playing Bonnie & Clyde-like hoodlums who tangle with the CSIs and, undoubtedly, have their evil plans foiled in the end. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Ashlee on TV (has she done any scripted television since her 7th Heaven days?) but Pete guest starred in the latest episode of Privileged (which aired this past week). I’m just relieved that Pete opted out of wearing those hideous boots he was spied wearing earlier this week (you know the boots I’m talking about). Hopefully he’s gotten rid of those fugly things otherwise Hollywood may stop calling ;)

New parents Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz made their way to Pure nightclub in Las Vegas, NV this week to host the club’s annual New Year’s Eve party (a job that Britney Spears held just a couple of New Year’s Eves ago) for a gaggle of fellow NYE revelers. At the shindig, Ashlee revealed to US Weekly magazine that her newborn son Bronx Mowgli “laughed for the first time”, most likely mistaking that the baby was prolly just gassy and not necessarily in a laughing mood. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz calls six-week-old son Bronx Mowgli “perfect. “He laughed for the first time,” Simpson-Wentz told Usmagazine.com while hosting a New Year’s Eve party at Pure nightclub in Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. “That was pretty exciting.” Simpson-Wentz says her New Year’s resolution revolves around her newborn. “All my focus is on my son. Every day, being a better mom and learning with him. It’s an incredible experience,” she told Us. And she’s working on her post-baby body. “I just started exercising again,” Simpson Wentz told Us. “It’s fun. I do it at my house.” (She even stuck to her diet plan on New Year’s. Simpson-Wentz fed her husband two bites of cake as the clock struck midnight, but wasn’t spotted indulging in any herself.) “I think being the mother of a new son is exercise unto itself,” added husband Pete Wentz, who earlier revealed to Howard Stern that his wife weighed 150 pounds when carrying Bronx. Simpson Wentz also aims to ” go back in the studio [to] start working. Not quite yet, but soon,” in 2009.

Aww … I just love the thought of Ashlee and Pete as parents. I can only imagine what the learning curve is for these two but I’m sure they’re figuring things out with each passing day. You will note that Pete is sportin’ a splint on his finger in these photos, I wonder what happened and I hope that it doesn’t interfere with his Fall Out Boy duties. Methinks that 2009 is going to be a good one for the Simpson-Wentz family. I wouldn’t be surprised if the couple decided to add another little bundle of joy to their expanding fam … they seem like the kind of folks that would book back-to-back babies.
