Welp, it’s been a year in the making but the Nine Inch Nails fan conglomerate dubbed This One Is On Us has released the final video trailer for the release of the DVD project titled Another Version of the Truth. As you may already be aware, Another Version of the Truth is a DVD put together by fans of the final show of NIN‘s Lights In The Sky Tour in Las Vegas, NV from December 2008. Back in February, the artwork for the DVD project was selected and in the months since, much work has gone into the project. Here are a few screen caps from this new trailer:

I am pleased and proud to have my video interview with Trent Reznor (conducted right before the final performance of the Lights In The Sky Tour in Las Vegas last year) included in the Bonus Features of the DVD. From the looks and sound of it, this DVD project is phenomenal. But don’t take my word for it, check out the trailer in full after the jump …

Early this year, Trent Reznor announced the availability of over 400 Gb of raw concert footage from the previous Nine Inch Nails tour Lights in the Sky Over North America. Because this footage had “mysteriously” made its way to the Internets, fans were encouraged to take it and turn it into something … cool. A band of industrious NIN fans launched the website ThisOneIsOnUs.org and began orchestrating a fan-driven enterprise to put together a tour DVD to be disseminated to fans since TR‘s old record company put the kibosh on his plans to release an official tour DVD of his own. In the past month or so, a name was voted on for the tour DVD and Another Version of the Truth was selected. Just last week, the official artwork was selected … check it out:

The winning artwork was created by Brent Bartley who had this to say about his winning design:

“I am surprised and thankful to have my design chosen for this release. I entered this without any sort of expectation, as there were many great designs to chose from, so I am truly appreciative to those who voted. A little about myself…I am an independent musician from Toronto, Ontario, recording under the name Perplexity of Things. I like Star Wars, horror films and Seinfeld. That pretty much sums me up… As for Nine Inch Nails, I’ve been a fan for quite some time. In fact, the first band I’ve ever seen live was Nine Inch Nails during the Outside tour in ’95 – which is a complete blur to me now. I’ve seen the band many times since, with the best being from the LITS tour. So I am thrilled to be a part of this project and can’t wait to see it on Blu ray! Thanks again” – Brent

I am so impressed by all the hard work that these NIN fans have put into this project, I have no doubt the final product will do Trent Reznor very proud. While I am bummed that TR was not allowed to create the tour DVD he had planned to make (I understand the plan was for the DVD to be presented in 3D) I have full faith that the folks at This One Is On Us will put out an amazing tour DVD.
