Last night Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were together in Berlin to attend the Cinema for Peace Charity Gala at the Berlin Film Festival. Ange was there to pick up an award for her film, In the Land of Blood and Honey. This very moving and powerful movie which is Ange’s directorial debut, tells the narrative of a love story set against the backdrop of the Bosnian war. Madonna wasn’t the only Golden Globe Award winner last night … a whole host of other folks were honored with awards in both film and television. The show itself, I gotta say, wasn’t nearly as entertaining as last year’s show. By all accounts, host Ricky Gervais did not perform as successfully this year as he did last year … and I think that fact had a huge impact on the show overall. A lot of my fave actors won this year (Jessica Lange, Meryl Streep, Madonna) as did some of my fave TV shows (Homeland, FTW!) … but I think the French silent film The Artist was the biggest winner of the night.
