Yesterday we saw video from the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring/Summer 2012 fashion show at Paris Fashion Week that showcased Gaultier‘s Amy Winehouse-inspired fashion collection. Today we are hearing from Amy‘s father Mitch Winehouse who is upset by the tribute, calling Gauliter‘s decision to craft a fashion collection inspired by the late singer as in “bad taste”. Earlier today it was revealed that plans are in the works to release a new album of previously unreleased songs recorded by the late Amy Winehouse and now we learn that her official website has been updated with a lot of information about the posthumous album. It appears that this collection of tracks is a sort of odds and ends compilation of songs recorded by Amy over the years. I understand that she had completed an entire new album of new songs before her death but it would seem that that album will be released later. Last week we learned the definitive news that a coroner in England ruled late singer Amy Winehouse suffered an alcohol-related death and today we get more Amy Winehouse news. Altho she is no longer with us, her music continues to live on … and a collection of new, previously unreleased tracks will be released this December. Plans have been announced to release Amy‘s third album in time for holiday shopping … which is very likely good yet kinda morbid news for fans.

In late July, as you may recall, the troubled singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her own home at the young age of 27 years old. At the time, much speculation insisted that Amy‘s death was the result of a drug overdose … but her parents were adamant that it wasn’t drugs that killed their daughter, they insisted that she drank herself to death. Today we learn conclusively that her parents were correct. The coroner who handled Amy‘s sudden death has ruled officially that she died as a result of death by misadventure after she drank 5 times the legal alcohol limit.

Last month we got to see the latest sculpture masterpiece created by pop culture artist Daniel Edwards and today we get to feast our eyes on his newest offering. While last month Edwards paid tribute to the young love affair betwixt Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, this month he is paying tribute to the late singer Amy Winehouse. Today we learn that the tox report has been completed and the results may be a bit surprising to some. Back in January of this year we learned that the still-living Amy Winehouse teamed up with iconic crooner Tony Bennett to record a duet together for his forthcoming album titled Duets II. At the time, no specifics about the duet were known except for the fact that the song had been successfully recorded. As we are all well aware, Amy tragically passed away at the age of 27 last month … and today, we get our first taste of Bennett‘s duet with Winehouse … which you can listen to below.

As if the tragic news of singer Amy Winehouse‘s untimely death at 27 wasn’t sad enough, today we hear that her story gets even more sad. For the past few years, Amy Winehouse — in her supposed bid to clean up her life — has been sneaking off to the island of St. Lucia to get away from the pressures and temptations she faced at home in London, England. In that time, Amy befriended a now 10-year old girl named Dannika Augustine and, apparently, grew to love her very much. It is being reported this weekend that Amy was actually in the process of adopting Dannika before her death. Forgetting for a minute how painfully obvious it was that Amy was clearly NOT ready to be a mother to anyone, this news just adds more tragedy to an already sad story :(

Amy Winehouse was memorialized by family and friends during a private funeral service today at Edgwarebury Cemetery in North London before her body was taken away for cremation. Just like her all too short life, the time between Amy‘s sudden death last Saturday and today’s funeral service seems really quick but according to family tradition her body must be laid to its eternal rest very soon after death. Music producer Mark Ronson and best friend Kelly Osbourne were among the folks in attendance at Amy‘s funeral. Clearly it was very important for the both of them to say their final goodbyes in person.
