Earlier today we saw photos of Heidi Klum’s first red carpet appearance in NYC last night since news of her seperation from hubby Seal last month. Right now we return to the red carpet of the amfAR New York Gala To Kick Off Fall 2012 Fashion Week event at Cipriani Wall Street last night and check out unfortunate new photos of Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay may be lookin’ pretty good in her recent magazine photospreads but her look last night was simply not her best.

Heidi Klum has been keeping a relative low profile in the weeks since she and husband Seal confirmed that they are undergoing a marriage separation. Except for some work obligations and daily outings with her children, Heidi has managed to stay pretty much out of the public eye … until last night. Heidi made her way to New York to attend the amfAR New York Gala To Kick Off Fall 2012 Fashion Week at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC to make her first red carpet appearance since news of her marital split. Altho Heidi didn’t address her personal life on the red carpet last night she was very noticeably still wearing her wedding ring … which, I think, speaks volumes. Celebs like Kylie Minogue, Cyndi Lauper, Cheyenne Jackson and more made their way to The New York Public Library last night to attend the 2010 amfAR New York Inspiration Gala which honored singer Men’s Fashion as a whole and Ricky Martin, who recently came out of the closet as a gay man, in particular. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals and some deets from last night’s event:

Ricky Martin has stepped out in style at an AIDS research organization’s New York City gala celebrating men’s fashion. It’s one of his first public appearances since announcing he’s gay. Celebrities including Kylie Minogue and Cyndi Lauper attended Thursday night’s amfAR event, which honored the “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer for his philanthropic contributions through his foundation. Minogue hosted the black tie/black leather event. She says she is happy for Martin and feels he’s “embracing and living life” since announcing in late March he’s gay. Designer Jean-Paul Gaultier was honored for his contributions to menswear and his humanitarian work. The gala benefits amfAR’s AIDS research programs.

I’ve always thought that Ricky Martin should be honored for his philanthropic work so I’m glad that amfAR decided to feature his great work at last night’s gala. I just LOVE that Kylie Minogue flew over from the UK to attend last night’s event in honor of Ricky … I can’t think of a better way to celebrate a freshly out of the closet gay man ;) And speaking of Kylie, NYers might want to be at Splash Bar tonight because the RUMOR is that Kylie will make an appearance there around 1AM tonight to promote her current single All The Lovers. UGH! So cool … I wish I could be there, believe me. BUT, getting back to Ricky, congrats again goes out to Mr. Martin for all of his hard work and good deeds. Let’s hope his philanthropy inspires others to work for the betterment of others as well.

Janet Jackson, who has been seen at various Milan Fashion Week events in Milan, Italy in the past week, made a special appearance at La Permanente to attend amfAR‘s Inaugural Milan Fashion Week Event to add her starpower to the drive to raise much needed funds for The Foundation for AIDS Research. Janet was joined on the red carpet by current Out magazine covergirl Donatella Versace but she graced the stage all on her own during the event … here are a few photos:

US singer Janet Jackson lent her star power to a gala charity in Milan that raised more than a million dollars for AIDS research, organisers said. “This battle needs all of us to be brave warriors,” Jackson said during a brief appearance at the Monday evening dinner and dance organised by the Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR). The evening’s biggest sale was a Dsquared jacket signed by Janet Jackson and other celebrities, snapped up by Diesel designer Renzo Rossof for 36,000 euros (53,000 dollars). Earlier a pair of handmade boots decorated with some 3,000 stones, made for Michael Jackson but never worn by the late king of pop, went for 10,000 euros. He died June 25 aged 50.

Janet Jackson is a real trooper … it’s very commendable for her to lend her name to such an important cause. She’s had a difficult year and I’m sure her work has kept her grounded but it’s really amazing that she also is making time to do much needed charity work as well. Keep up the amazing work, Janet!!
