Singer Adele, who was forced to cancel numerous concert dates this year due to throat problems, recently underwent surgery on her vocal chords and, according to reports, is looking to move away from smoggy London, England for fear that the air pollution will further damage her singing voice. It’s unknown if Adele has decided to give up smoking but … yeah, if this report is to be believed, it sounds like smog is what she’s really worried about.

Rolling Stone magazine has released it’s list of the 50 Best Albums of 2011 and while I do not agree with the entire list (not by a LONG shot), I do give the magazine props for making the right choice in regards to their #1 album of the year. Adele‘s fantastic album 21 was chosen by RS magazine as the Best of the Year and while I don’t know if I will be putting Adele at the top of my personal Best Of list for 2011, I think Rolling Stone got it very right by putting Adele at the top of their list.

Adele has unleashed her latest music video for her new single Someone Like You and, as you might imagine, it is a stark and haunting as the song itself. Those of you familiar with the heartbreaking song have, very likely, listened to the song once or twice while walking the streets of your town all by yourself … and wouldn’t you know it, Adele does the same thing in this music video! Unlike the normally rail thin models who grace the pages of the so-called Fashion Bible, Adele graces the cover in her stunningly beautiful way, highlighted by the fact that she is immensely talented. As you should be well aware by now, MTV hosted it’s annual Video Music Awards celebration last night at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles, CA and by pretty much all accounts, the show wasn’t the best one ever. Because there was no host, the entire show felt messy and disjointed. Some of the performances were stellar (Adele and Beyoncé, I’m lookin’ at you), others were less than stellar (take your pick of the rest) and the show overall just didn’t mesh for me. I was happy for some of the award winners (Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj, lookin’ at you) and very disappointed and offended by others (in particular I’m referring to the blatant and unabashed homophobe that I cannot bring myself to even mention by name who won Best New Artist), which left me with an overall feeling of …. malaise over the whole thing. Chanteuse Adele is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of British Glamour magazine and in her coverstory interview, she reveals a celebrity crush … and not just any celebrity crush … a royal celebrity crush. Adele famously made it clear that she would “never date a ginger” (which is British slang for a red headed person) but in this new inteview, she amends that statement by clarifying that she would happily go after Prince Harry. The issue, dedicated to the Hot List of 2011, couldn’t feature a more deserving artist on its cover. Across the board, seemingly EVERYONE on Earth loves Adele‘s new album 21 … and that deffo makes her HOT HOT HOT. Among other things, Adele reveals that she would gladly trade in her fame and fortune for her lost love. No wonder there is so much emotion in her music. The insane drama over Chris Brown‘s arrest and the allegations that he assaulted his girlfriend Rihanna ALMOST overshadowed the 51st Annual Grammy Awards that took place at the Staples Center last night … but fear not, the awards went off without a hitch and, at least in person, provided a very fun night of entertainment. David and I were able to attend the Grammy Awards last night, courtesy of our friends at ABSOLUT Vodka, and we had a pretty phenomenal time at the Staples Center … even tho we were trying to keep apprised of the Chris Brown info as it came out thruout the show, we were able to enjoy the Grammys nonetheless. Here are a few photos from the Grammy Award red carpet arrivals last night:

Everyone was lookin’ their swanky best … Jennifer Hudson and Carrie Underwood looked lovely (tho, I preferred the dress that J. Hud changed into for her onstage performance) and Jesse McCartney looked crazed as he latched on to Paris Hilton‘s teet for their odd photo op. Dunno what the kid was trying to accomplish but I hope he bathed afterward.

It turned out that Alison Krauss and Robert Plant were the big winners of the evening … along with Adele who took home the award for Best New Artist (edging out Duffy and the Jonas Brothers — thank God!).
