The lead singer from the band Maroon 5, Adam Levine, has wanted to start his own label for a long time, and now he has launched his own recording company and signed his first star… Matthew Morrison from Glee.The label is called 222 and Matthew is expected to release his second album this spring. Two very talented guys working together – we are surely in for a treat.

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal and singer Adam Levine hooked up in Studio City, CA yesterday for a little sushi lunch date together on Ventura Blvd. To be honest, I knew that Jake and Adam were friends but I didn’t know they were the kind of BFFs that sneaked off together for lunch dates. It seems to me that I grossly underestimated the couple’s bromantic intentions toward one another. Not only does Adam talk about his yoga love affair but he shows us some of his favorite poses. Now, I’m not a big workout person (which means that I don’t *ever* workout … ever) but I’ve always toyed with the idea of taking up yoga … particularly because of its low impact. Last night, one day before the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards airs live on MTV tonight, Maroon 5 frontman and The Voice judge Adam Levine took to his official Twitter profile to publicly denounce the VMAs. In an effort to release some “angsty teenager … raw honesty”, Levine blasted MTV for not genuinely caring about music telling the VMAs that they can “fuck” off. This rant seems a bit odd considering that Maroon 5 won an MTV Video Music Award back in 2004, a fact that MTV cheekily reminded Levine of in response to his Twitter rant yesterday.

Adam Levine, Maroon 5 frontman and vocal judge on The Voice, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Out magazine. Despite the fact that Adam tells Out that there is no way to “hide [his] straightness”, he sees no problem with playing with the conventions of sexual ambiguity when it comes to fronting a rock band (in the same way that David Bowie and Mick Jagger do). Adam, in his Out magazine interview, is very vocal about how he does NOT like the way American Idol treats its gay performers and believes his show, The Voice, handles gay performers much better. Last month, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine performed the new Maroon 5 song Moves Like Jagger together on an episode of The Voice. For the past few days, they’ve been hard at work filming a music video for the track. Xtina tweeted the first photo from the set of the vid which are accompanied by a few promo photos from filming below. Last night, the judges on NBC‘s singing competition show The Voice, performed a cover of the Queen classic song We Are The Champions to show the contestants how it’s done. Adam Levine was joined by Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and finally Christina Aguilera for the performance which was, IMHO, fun if not spectacular. There were deffo highlights of the performance and some performers sang better than others but overall, it was a great treat to watch. At the start of this month we learned that Christina Aguilera joined Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green on the judging panel of the new NBC singing competition show The Voice and today we not only get to see the Voice judges assembled together but we also learn from Xtina herself that judging on The Voice will be much different than it is on other competition shows … primarily because all 3 judges plan to be … nice.
