Also gets pelted by a dildo on stage
Adam Lambert Features In A New Photoshoot

Earlier this week we saw a photo of Adam Lambert on the set of his album cover photoshoot and, as you may recall, he was lookin’ pretty damn ridic in his Michelin Man-inspired costume. But, if you thought he looked bad then … then you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Glambert was recently photographed by Robert Sebree and this what they came up with … photos that went from bad …

to worse …

… and all kinds of fug in between. To say that Adam Lambert is going the cheesy route with his outfit choices would be a compliment at this point. After the jump, check out a few more photos from Lambert‘s photoshoot with Sebree AND, as a bonus, check out video of Glambert performing on the American Idol Idols Summer Tour 2009 in Hamilton, Ontario last weekend where he was hit by a dildo that was thrown on stage from the audience — trust me, you’re gonna wanna watch …

... after he robbed the Michelin Man for his outfit
Adam Lambert Poses For His Album Photoshoot

Towleroad gives us our first look at Adam Lambert on the set of a photoshoot reportedly for his debut album. Wearing an outfit that leaves much to be desired, Glambert clearly pulled out all the stops to ensure that the artwork for his new album is überfabulous … behold:

Some set photos allegedly from the cover shoot for Adam Lambert’s album have leaked, including this one in which Lambert appears to be wearing a glittery Hefty bag and sporting a hair-do that takes its cues from Bob’s Big Boy. The cover is reportedly being shot by Warwick Saint and other elements of the shoot included Swarovski crystal eye pieces, lots of leather and spikes.

I dunno, y’all. I’m all for expressive fashion sense but I’m starting to think that Lambert might be going too far. Yes, he performed with KISS fairly successfully on the finale of American Idol but that doesn’t mean he has to start dressing like them to beat the moment into a bloody pulp. After all, let’s not forget that he lost the competition. As far as AI contestants go, I think he’s pretty talented … I’d hate for him to overplay his gimmick and then lose his shot at superstardom because he focused too much on the look rather than the sound. I’m afraid photoshoots like this might ensure that he become a laughable caricature rather than a serious musician.

The mag's annual list of 'Hottest Bachelors'
‘People’ Magazine Names Chace Crawford The ‘Hottest Bachelor Of 2009’

People magazine has released its annual issue devoted to the Hottest Bachelors of the year and have made their selection for this year’s coverboy. You may recall that the mag named Mario Lopez as the Hottest Bachelor of 2008 … but this year, the honor goes to Chace Crawford. Chace has been deemed by People magazine as the Hottest Bachelor of 2009:

Chace Crawford talks to his parents every day, vacations with his younger sister and – unlike his Gossip Girl character – says dating a married woman is “a definite no.” Without question, success (he’ll star in the Footloose remake) couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. But what else is behind those blue eyes? PEOPLE’s Elizabeth Leonard and Jennifer Garcia found out. Here’s a sneak peek of the interview with PEOPLE’s Hottest Bachelor!

On his first kiss: “It was fifth grade. Her name was Kiley Smith and she was my best friend’s twin sister. It was one of those super-awkward things. We were at camp, on a lake, really picturesque – it¹s kind of seared into memory! We’re still friends.”

On a perfect date: “All you need is a pool table, beer, an electric jukebox and good conversation. The day a girl beats me in a game of Beirut [a kind of beer pong] is a good sign!”

On being single: “I’m not not looking for a girlfriend – but I’m not particularly looking for a girlfriend, either. I’m not knocking having a relationship; at the end of the day, you want to share with someone. But I just look at it as, I have the rest of my life to do that. I’m not in any rush.”

On dating Carrie Underwood: “I have nothing bad to say about that experience. It was awesome. I just didn’t know how to deal with it. I learned a ton about dating someone in that kind of spotlight. It was such a whirlwind, but no regrets.”

On the made-up gay rumors about him and co-star Ed Westwick: “You know what we really did the first time we heard it? Ed goes, ‘Oh, did you hear that rumor about us being gay?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, man.’ He starts laughing and we’re kind of like, ‘Okay, you want to go play pool and have a beer?’ ”

To be honest, I thought for sure that British heartthrob Robert Pattinson was gonna get the nod from People magazine as the Hottest Bachelor of the Year. There ain’t a day that goes by that People doesn’t do a story or even a blurb about R. Pattz and his effect on his fans. He seemed the shoe-in choice for this year’s #1 Hottest Bachelor … but clearly I was wrong. That’s not to say that Chace Crawford isn’t a great pick … he’s deffo a much-in-demand hottie and is an excellent choice for Hottest Bachelor of 2009. But, Chace is not alone on this list of hawt bachelors. After the jump, check out some of the other single men who made this year’s list of Hottest Bachelors — yes, R. Pattz made the list as did a now openly gay celeb …

Adam Lambert’s ‘Rolling Stone’ Magazine Outtakes

His debut album is expected this Fall
Adam Lambert Signs A Record Contract

Earlier today we got to see Adam Lambert on the cover of the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine (wherein he answers the question everyone has been dying know … but prolly already knew the answer to) and now we learn that the American Idol runner-up has signed a recording contract with 19 Entertainment and RCA Recordings and is planning to release his debut album in the Fall:

American Idol’s runner-up is one step closer to becoming a glam-rock superstar. Adam Lambert has inked deals with 19 Entertainment and RCA Recordings — and will be working on a debut album that is expected in the fall. “I’m thrilled that we’ve come to a creative and collaborative partnership and look forward to developing a really exciting album,” Lambert, 27, said in a statement. “We are 100 percent on the same page and are all anxiously awaiting the start of the recordings. It’s going to be ridiculous! Get Ready!!!” Simon Fuller, the creator and executive producer of American Idol, sung Lambert’s praises in the statement: “To find a talent as exceptional as Adam Lambert is a rare and special event … I am thrilled that American Idol was the platform for the world to discover this brilliant young man. He is unique and unforgettable and a certain star of tomorrow.” Lambert will record his album this summer while on the road with the other top 10 contestants for the Idols Live Tour, which kicks off July 5 in Portland, Ore.

It should also be noted that AI winner Kris Allen has also signed a record deal but with 19 Entertainment and Jive Records … but, honestly, all everyone seems to want to talk about is the Glambert. While I’m not necessarily a fan of his singing style (not that I’ve heard much of it), I am very curious to hear what his album will sound like. Will it be a balls out glam record or will he offer something more radio-friendly. I’m also curious to see who (if anyone) will be guesting on the disc with him. Might there be a Queen collabo on the disc? Now that American Idol is over, it looks like it is finally time for Adam to shine on his own … I guess we’ll soon find out if he will sink or swim.

“I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay.”
Adam Lambert Does ‘Rolling Stone’ Magazine

Adam Lambert, the runner-up in this year’s American Idol competition, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine. As was widely expected, Lambert opens up in the coverstory titled Wild Idol: The Psychedelic Transformation and Sexual Liberation of Adam Lambert and comes clean about his much speculated-about sexuality … telling Rolling Stone that he doesn’t think “it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that [he's] gay”. On that account, I think he’s right. Here is Adam‘s RS coverphoto and a portion of his coverstory interview:

American Idol’s glamtastic runner-up Adam Lambert opens up in the next issue of Rolling Stone, speaking frankly about his sexuality, though he doesn’t think his revelation is particularly shocking. “I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay,” Lambert says in the new issue of Rolling Stone, hitting newsstands this week. The flamboyant Idol singer hits our cover and bares all, talking about his childhood (”I started to realize I wasn’t like every other boy,” he says), the drug-fueled Burning Man epiphany that led him to AI (”I realized that we all have our own power, and that whatever I wanted to do, I had to make happen,” he tells RS) and his run on the show (”I was like, ‘I’m going to glue rhinestones on my eyelids, bitch!’ “). And yes, he talks about his sexuality. “Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, ‘I’m going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler,’ ” he tells us. “I didn’t want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bullshit. I need to be able to explain myself in context. “I’m proud of my sexuality,” Lambert adds. “I embrace it. It’s just another part of me.” Ultimately, however Lambert tells RS contributor Vanessa Grigoriadis that there are other parts of his life that he’s trying to keep front and center. “I’m trying to be a singer, not a civil rights leader,” he says. It was that mission — and his Burning Man “psychedelic experience” — that lead him to Idol after years in musical theater. “I knew that it was my only shot to be taken seriously in the recording industry, because it’s fast and broad,” he tells RS. He details his experience on Idol, his true thoughts on winner Kris Allen and how his sexuality impacted his Idol run in our cover story, “Wild Idol: The Psychedelic Transformation and Sexual Liberation of Adam Lambert,” which hits newsstands this week.

I’m happy to hear that Adam is proud of his sexuality and choosing to openly discuss a personal matter like that on the cover of a major magazine is pretty much proof of that fact. I completely understand why he wouldn’t want to talk about any of his personal biz while he was competing on American Idol. While it works to the advantage of some competitors to talk to the voting audience about their wife/husband and kids, we still live in an age where discussing your homosexuality would still work against you. In any event, it’s very cool that Adam is finally feeling free enough to talk about his life as openly and honestly as possible. After the jump, check out a few behind-the-scenes photos from Adam‘s Rolling Stone covershoot …

Ain't no shame
Breaking News: Adam Lambert Holds Boyfriend’s Hand

After spending many months coyly ducking the matter of his sexuality while he competed on American Idol this season and after AI judge Kara DioGuardi pretty much outed him in a recent interview, AI runner-up Adam Lambert bravely stepped out of the West Hollywood, CA club Guys & Dolls last night while holding his boyfriend Drake LaBry‘s hand for all the world to see:

I understand that the lovebirds did some shopping together at Kitson before their big night out. Adam apparently dropped some major $$$ on a Marc Jacobs blazer for Drake — sounds like lurve to me:

While something this benign should be a total non-issue, I think it’s great that Lambert is finally feeling free enough to be who he is without fear of reprisal from anyone else. I can absolutely understand why he (or anyone for that matter) would not want to openly discuss matters of sexuality while they are competing in front of a national audience for something as large as American Idol. But, if DioGuardi is to be believed, Adam wasn’t hiding anything at all behind the scenes on the show:

I’m just really happy to see the lad proudly being true to himself … and if a simple hand-hold is where it all begins, then so be it. Those jeans, on the other hand, are a might frightful and should be burned immediately. Sexuality be damned, I still take issue with some of Glambert‘s styling choices. OY!

"I’d certainly like to work with Adam" - Brian May
Adam Lambert To Collaborate With Queen?

Now that Adam Lambert is free of the constraints of American Idol (relatively speaking, of course) he is now able to consider what his next step may be professionally. Surely, an album is in the works … but who might he be able to collaborate with on said new album? There has been much rumor going around that Adam was asked by the surviving members of Queen to front the band but Brian May tells Rolling Stone magazine that such talk is very premature. That said, May did not rule out a possible collaboration with the group — in fact, he’s hoping that Queen and Adam may be able to collaborate in some capacity:

After Adam Lambert’s killer performance with Queen on Wednesday night’s season finale of American Idol, rumors flew that he had already been offered a job singing with the band. That’s slightly premature, according to the band’s guitarist, Brian May. “Amongst all that furor, there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk,” May tells Rolling Stone in an e-mail interview. “But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point. It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.” May, whose band recently ended a four-year-long partnership with singer Paul Rodgers, is comfortable with Idol as a launching point for the careers of rock singers. “You’d have to define ‘legitimate’ first,” he writes. “The long-term answer has to be that, if you have enough talent and enough will to succeed, you will get there by whatever route presents itself. Once you have scaled the castle walls, with the sword in your hand, it matters little
how you got there. I’ve not always been positive about shows like this, but there is no doubt that it offers a door to some real genuine talent along the way.”

From what I understand, Adam Lambert‘s singing style is one that would mesh nicely with Queen‘s music so it makes sense that folks would begin speculating that Adam (a hot new solo singer with a big voice) would hook-up with Queen (a band in need of a hot new solo singer with a big voice). It is quite a compliment to have Brian May talk of possible collaborations with you so I’m sure Lambert is flattered beyond belief. It’s still WAY TOO SOON to know what will come next for Adam Lambert. As I understand it, he still has a tour with American Idol to take care of before he can really focus on his next solo move. Still … the fact that anyone is even gossing that he might work with Queen makes him a winner in my eyes. Who needs the title of American Idol when opportunities like this are falling in your lap?

ATTENTION: 'AMERICAN IDOL' SPOILER ALERT WARNING
America Picks A New ‘American Idol’ For 2009

After many weeks of whittling down the pool of contestants to the final two, American Idol crowned a new reigning champ to take the title of American Idol … and last night’s show was a doozy. As you should be well aware, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen were the last two competitors standing and who performed on Monday night in the final showdown:

Just in case you missed watching the finale last night and just in case you missed news of the winner as it saturated every corner of the Internets, I’ll keep the reveal behind the cut. After the jump, find out who won and who lost in this year’s American Idol competition …

Undue influence?
‘Entertainment Weekly’ Chooses Their American Idol

Now that this season’s American Idol competition is down to the top 3 finalists (after last night’s elimination), the battle to become the new American Idol is getting down to the wire … tho, Entertainment Weekly magazine seems to think that the competition is already a done deal. They don’t come out and declare a winner, per se, but by singling out one of this season’s contestants and putting HIM on the cover of their magazine they seem to be making a clear statement. It’s as if EW is saying, Here is your new American Idol … Adam Lambert:

Yes, pretty much everyone on the planet seems to think that Adam Lambert has got the title in the bag but I don’t know that any publication has made this sort of determination so early before a winner is selected. EW even mentions that fact that Adam “might be gay” on their cover which, it seems to me, appears to be the footnote anytime anyone talks about Adam‘s possible win as the new American Idol. I don’t even watch the show but I’m aware of all the lurve that Adam is getting from everyone … it just seems kinda shitty to the other contestants that he is being singled out by a mag like EW before the competition is even over. In any event, I’m sure Mr. Lambert will benefit greatly from this bit of major press … not that he needs it. I understand that he is the most exciting, most charismatic AI contestant to come along in years. I guess we’ll see if his reputation can live up to the hype when the new American Idol is crowned in a couple of weeks. What do y’all think … do YOU think Adam Lambert has the competition in the bag?
