Ryan And Abbie Take Things To The Next Level

It would seem that Ryan Phillippe and his new ladylove Abbie Cornish are becoming more brazen with their fledgling relationship. After keeping things completely quiet for months, the couple unveiled their love to the world at a CVS pharmacy before making the 2008 Australian in Film Breakthrough Awards their unofficial coming out party as a couple … then, just this past weekend, the couple stepped out together at a pre-4th of July BBQ with friends. BUT NOW, the couple have really taken their relationship into new territory … the territory of joint rug ownership. Here are a few pics of Rabbie as they made their way into Mansour carpet shop in Hollywood, CA yesterday with hand firmly in hand:


HMMM … it’s not entirely clear if the couple were at the rug store to pick out new home decorations together or to find new prints for Abbie to make other unflattering dresses out of but, in either case, the couple ventured out together and that is the important part. I’m not sure what is going on with her fashion choices but I somehow don’t think that pilgrim chic is ever gonna happen. I hope they find a nice rug/dress pattern tho, they seem really intent on making things work out for them.

Ryan Takes Abbie To Meet His Friends

Or, vice versa

Well now … it would seem that Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish are getting much more comfortable venturing out in public together these days. The happy couple were spotted lookin’ all happy and cozy together at a friend’s BBQ in LA yesterday, which I believe was the first time (that I know of) the couple stepped out publicly among friends as a couple. Of course they may have previously attended private events with friends together since they got together (it’s unclear exactly when that was … you may recall the couple were spotted canoodling in Texas by a Pink reader back when they were filming Stop-Loss together and while Ryan was still married to Reese) but I understand they have taken great pains to stay as much on the down-low as possible for a majority of their relationship thus far. It looks like those days are over … here are a few pics of Rabbie at yesterday’s BBQ party — where Abbie felt it entirely appropriate to show up wearing her pjs:


I say, good for them! While it is sad that the fairytale romance between Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe came to an end (pause to pour one out for Witherppe), it was only a matter of time before they both moved on. Ryan and Abbie appear to be very happy together (deciding to recently unveil their love publicly at an LA area CVS pharmacy) and, if the tabs are to be believed, Reese and Jake Gyllenhaal are shacking up together. Here’s hoping that Rabbie are able to find happiness and contentment with one another for years to come … unless there can be a reconciliation for Witherppe and then that would get my vote :)

Rabbie Meets World

After bolding venturing out in public together at a Hollywood CVS earlier this week, Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish made the 2008 Australian in Film Breakthrough Awards their unofficial coming out party as a new couple. The newly dubbed Rabbie were seen looking “very affectionate” with one another at last night’s event here in Hollywood, CA:


Two months after admitting it was bizarre seeing ex-wife Reese Witherspoon with Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Phillippe is quietly moving things forward in his own love life. After months of speculation about their relationship, he proudly accompanied his Stop-Loss costar Abbie Cornish to the 2008 Australian in Film Breakthrough Awards – their first major event as a couple. “They were adorable,” says a guest. “He had his arm around her and they were cozy and comfortable.” When Cornish – who was being honored with a Breakthrough Award – was introduced, Phillippe rubbed her back while she leaned against his shoulder. Throughout the evening, they held hands. Phillippe, 33, also let Cornish enjoy her moment in the spotlight, waiting patiently as she worked the room and posed for photos. Once she was at his side once again, they continued to share laughs with pals … Phillippe and Cornish left the party just before 10 p.m., heading to Hennessy’s weekly jazz night at Teddy’s.

Uh huh … I had a feeling that the couple were about to show up to some major public event as a couple. You don’t just go into any old CVS pharmacy without alerting the world that you are about to publically confirm your new relationship … everyone knows that. [Source]

But, while the couple may have been all touchy-feely and smiley for the cameras inside the Australian in Film Breakthrough Awards, it was another story as the couple left the safe confines of the awards show and ventured out into the night … and the waiting paparazzi:

Yeah, the couple may not be ready to totally show their lurve for one another on the streets of LA just yet … but I suspect they might be showing up at Coffee Bean coffee shops, Ralph’s grocery stores or SoCal beaches together very soon. Welcome to the fun, Rabbie!

‘Stop’ & Go

After spending the last few months on the downlow, refusing to be seen together at public events to promote their latest movie Stop-Loss, Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish seem to have relaxed on the clandestine nature of their relationship and boldly ventured out together to pick up some snacks and soda at a Hollywood area CVS drug store:

I suppose it’s *possible* that the Stop-Loss co-stars have remained good friends but the pair do look very coupley in these photos. As much as I don’t relish the idea of Ryan Phillippe reattached to any one else, I guess I don’t really mind if he’s found happiness with Abbie Conish. Ugh, his ex-wife is supposedly romancing Jake Gyllenhaal so I’d be fine with Ryan being with Abbie. I’d be more fine with Ryan being with Jake but the thought of those two doing the nasty might make my head explode. Le sigh. [Source]
