Last month it was Reese Witherspoon’s turn to take her young son Deacon Reese to his Little League baseball games but this month, the duty falls to his father Ryan Phillippe. While Reese’s new man, Jake Gyllenhaal, has yet to attend one of Deacon’s baseball games, Ryan’s new lady, Abbie Cornish, has not made that same mistake. While it really sucks that the Witherppe kids have to be juggled between their divorced parents, it’s encouraging to see that all parties involved in the young children’s lives take part in their extracurricular activities. I understand that GyllenSpoon are currently in NYC so that means that Rabbie will be here in SoCal taking care of the kiddies for a while (which is only fair since Reese was taking care of the kids while Ryan was in the South of France for the Cannes Film Festival last month). Divorce is never easy for the kids but at least the couple formerly known as Witherppe seem to be making the best of things.

Here are a few red carpet photos of Abbie Cornish and Ryan Phillippe down under on Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour, Australia last night (today?) for a Calvin Klein promo event that she hosted. Rabbie were on hand for the launch of the Calvin Klein Spring ‘09 Collection proving that the couple that promos together, stays together. The New York Post is reporting that the couple will remain in Oz thru the holidays so that Ryan can meet Abbie’s family:

RYAN Phillippe has gone Down Under for Christmas and New Year’s. He landed in Australia on Sunday with his love, Abbie Cornish, whom he met on the set of “Stop-Loss” while he was still married to Reese Witherspoon. They’ll be on Cockatoo Island for a … party today before heading to Lochinvar to meet Cornish’s extended family. It’s the first time Phillippe, who spent Thanksgiving with Cornish and his children, Deacon and Ava, in the US, has been to Australia. His kids will be with Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal in LA and Tennessee.

HMMM … sounds like things are getting pret-ty serious for these two. It’s a big step to meet the extended family … it’s an even bigger step to meet them over the holidays. Rabbie is showing no signs of slowing down … to me, it looks like the couple are on the path to marriagehood. Irregardless of what you think about how the couple got together, I suppose it’s a good thing that they are so committed to one another and they look like they’re gonna be together for a long time. Tho, that’s what I thought about the Witherppe marriage and, well … yeah. In any event, here’s hoping the happy couple enjoys their time down in Australia and that Ryan won’t have to face any awkward questions about how he and Abbie ended up together. Ah, don’tcha just love the holidays?

Things appear to be coming along nicely for Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish who continue to (for the most part) quietly carry on their relationship. The pair, who coupled up after Ryan split from his wife Reese Witherspoon (tho rumored to have hooked-up while he was still married), have been happily together for many, many months now and altho they don’t take great pains to hide their relationship any more, they also don’t really work to show it off either. Here are a few pics of the very handsome couple as they made their way out of the Highland Night Club at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, CA last night:

I really think that these two make a great couple. They obvs care for one another and I’m happy to see that the Ryan has been able to find someone to make him happy. It can’t be easy for Ry to see Reese coupled up with the megahot Jake Gyllenhaal (trust me, it pains me to see it as well) but it looks like Abbie is adequately keeping Ryan’s attentions elsewhere. If I had to guess, I think that Rabbie will make it down the aisle before WitherSpoon will … wouldn’t you agree?

I can’t be entirely certain but I believe this is one of (if not the) first times that Rabbie were spotted out and about with the Witherppe children. We’ve seen many photos of Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal with the kids and now it’s Rabbie’s turn. Up until now, GyllenSpoon has enjoyed the lion’s share of the time with the kids so clearly Rabbie now feel up to the task … and I say, it’s about time! Little Deacon was all dolled up for one of his karate classes and I understand that Abbie took Ava to a flower class (whatever that is). It would appear that things are serious for both Ryan and Reese with their new partners, especially since everyone is now spending time with the children. While I’m still lamenting the dunzoness of Witherppe, I’m happy to see that they each have moved on happily and that the kids seem to be doing OK in the middle.

Here are a couple o’ pics of Abbie Cornish and Ryan Phillippe enjoying the blistering Las Vegas, NV sun as they chilled poolside at TAO Beach at the Venetian Hotel and Casino yesterday afternoon. Rabbie have made their way to Sin City in order to celebrate Abbie’s 26th birthday (which was on Thursday) and have been spied at quite a few hot spots all week long:

Arriving in Las Vegas late Wednesday night, Ryan Phillippe and his Stop Loss costar and girlfriend Abbie Cornish hunkered down in a one-bedroom suite at The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino as the couple celebrated Cornish’s turning 26 – with Phillippe seemingly determined to make this her best birthday ever. Starting the day lounging in a private cabana at Tao Beach, the duo dined on sushi and fruit before heading to the Canyon Ranch Spa for even more relaxation. After taking in Cirque Du Soleil’s O at Bellagio, Phillippe and Cornish were spotted walking hand in hand to dinner at an intimate corner table at Tao Las Vegas, where they were seen snuggling and kissing throughout the meal. Two hours later, their waiter delivered a dessert platter with a birthday candle in the ice cream – a moment Cornish had the waiter capture with her camera. And there was more, with Phillippe leading the birthday girl to a VIP skybox at Tao’s nightclub that overlooked the main dance floor. Sipping Grey Goose cocktails, the duo danced – and kissed – the night away, except for the moment when Cornish unbuttoned Phillippe’s shirt and started pouring ice down his chest. “They really are cute together,” a source said.

Oh yeah, it sounds like Ms. Abbie Cornish is having herself a very happy birthday — and I hate her! Okay, not really but it’s easy to see how someone might be jealous of her status as Ryan Phillippe’s love interest (I mean, that ice down his chest thing alone … le sigh). It would seem that Ryan Phillippe and his new ladylove Abbie Cornish are becoming more brazen with their fledgling relationship. After keeping things completely quiet for months, the couple unveiled their love to the world at a CVS pharmacy before making the 2008 Australian in Film Breakthrough Awards their unofficial coming out party as a couple … then, just this past weekend, the couple stepped out together at a pre-4th of July BBQ with friends. BUT NOW, the couple have really taken their relationship into new territory … the territory of joint rug ownership. Here are a few pics of Rabbie as they made their way into Mansour carpet shop in Hollywood, CA yesterday with hand firmly in hand:

HMMM … it’s not entirely clear if the couple were at the rug store to pick out new home decorations together or to find new prints for Abbie to make other unflattering dresses out of but, in either case, the couple ventured out together and that is the important part. I’m not sure what is going on with her fashion choices but I somehow don’t think that pilgrim chic is ever gonna happen. I hope they find a nice rug/dress pattern tho, they seem really intent on making things work out for them.

Well now … it would seem that Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish are getting much more comfortable venturing out in public together these days. The happy couple were spotted lookin’ all happy and cozy together at a friend’s BBQ in LA yesterday, which I believe was the first time (that I know of) the couple stepped out publicly among friends as a couple. Of course they may have previously attended private events with friends together since they got together (it’s unclear exactly when that was … you may recall the couple were spotted canoodling in Texas by a Pink reader back when they were filming Stop-Loss together and while Ryan was still married to Reese) but I understand they have taken great pains to stay as much on the down-low as possible for a majority of their relationship thus far. It looks like those days are over … here are a few pics of Rabbie at yesterday’s BBQ party — where Abbie felt it entirely appropriate to show up wearing her pjs:

I say, good for them! While it is sad that the fairytale romance between Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe came to an end (pause to pour one out for Witherppe), it was only a matter of time before they both moved on. Ryan and Abbie appear to be very happy together (deciding to recently unveil their love publicly at an LA area CVS pharmacy) and, if the tabs are to be believed, Reese and Jake Gyllenhaal are shacking up together. Here’s hoping that Rabbie are able to find happiness and contentment with one another for years to come … unless there can be a reconciliation for Witherppe and then that would get my vote :)
